Paula's Choice Recap - Fresh, New Products!

Paula's Choice is a brand that I've talked about a while ago and liked what I had tried; but, recently I've been sent a few products from the brand and have totally made me fall in love with the brand and the products!

Paula's Choice is a brand whose philosophy is really simple - Smart, Safe, Effective, Beauty. Their products are fragrance free, cruelty free, and they are Leaping Bunny certified. The stand on the belief that products should be good for your skin and backed by scientific research - Science and Safety first. They site all of their research on each product page, as well as explain what each ingredient is intended for in the description! (They also have an extensive list of products they do not include in their products including alcohol, synthetic dyes or fragrances, talc and more!)

This palette is a gorgeous - it's a spice inspired blend of beautiful shadows! It's a mix of mattes, satins, shimmers and a glitter.

That's right - this whole month of masking "Anywhere But The Face" took me down a rabbit-hole of crazy body masks! If you saw earlier, I started with a neck and décolletage mask, a butt mask, breast masks, and now a muff masque! Why shouldn't everywhere deserve some skincare love?! 

Five on Friday - May 24, 2019

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you've all had an amazing week! I was lovely that it was a short week and we had the holiday Monday off! 

ONE 

What did you guys do for the long weekend??? I was so excited to have a weekend at home - with Damian's basketball tournament in Kelowna the previous weekend, with in town tournaments for the previous 2 weekends (sprinkled in with birthday parties and life), I feel like I've had no time at home. We hung out, and I'm starting my garden, but it will all come together over the next few weekends! 

Lets talk about the biggest event of the past week - the Game of Thrones series finale! We finished the series with a costume party and I had to go with my favourite character (who was unjustly left out of the show), Lady Stoneheart! She is Catelyn Stark who was left dead in the river for 3 days after the Red Wedding, and revived through Beric Dondarrion and the Lord of Light. She comes back at this badass who is just out for Lannister and Frey blood. 

My Top Setting Sprays to Make My Makeup Last

Something I don't talk much about on here, is setting sprays! I've just used the same staple products for quite a while because they work really well for me! So why haven't I shared them here?! Time to change that!

I have 4 current go-to setting sprays that I use all the time and I have a couple of different uses for them! I have 2 sprays that I prefer using for day wear or as my prep step, and 2 that I prefer to use for special events or all day and nights!

I'm loving the "May Flowers" idea and I decided to try something new and went with this flower eyeliner makeup look! I used white, light purple, and dark purple eyeliners to create this fun eye look - I love how it turned out!

Happy Saturday everyone! I hope you all had a great week - again, mine has been super crazy as usual! We finally have a "quiet weekend" ahead, meaning that we don't have any more basketball tournaments or baby birthday parties and we need that!

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Oil ~ sample size shown (full size is $55.00 CAN). An ultra-light, fast-absorbing face oil that doubles as a face primer—imparting a glowing, radiant look with a dewy finish.

I never thought with combo skin and an oily t-zone that I would have really loved an oil primer; but, this works amazing for my skin in Fall, Winter and early Spring. It gives me a nice glow and really helped my foundation apply smoother! This made my Feb Favourites last year! I can't wear this in the Summer or when it's really warm; but, it looks good any other time!

Today, May 12, marks the 5th Blogiversary of See The World in PINK! It's kind of crazy to think that 5 years ago I started with a little Manicure Monday post with Hearts, Glitter and Stripes! It's so weird that I basically started reviewing subscription boxes and doing my nails. 

It actually took me a couple of years to start doing full beauty content and really getting in to the makeup and skincare side of things! Happy Friday everyone! I hope you've had a great week! Mine's been bust again as per the usual few weeks of my life! And, this weekend is no different - it will be busy!

Okay, how amazing are these princess Aurora and Cinderella Toms?! I can't believe I didn't know this collection was being released last year!!! How did I possibly miss that?! But, these are so gorgeous and I had to do some hunting after I saw a picture of them!

April 2019 What I Bought - Monthly Haul!

Time for a look at everything I picked up this month - I really love these Monthly Haul posts - they give me a way to share everything I pick up each month as I don't always post about everything I get!

Plus, this year I think these posts will hold me a little more accountable - I put myself on a  $100 a month budget, not because I need to; it's actually more to test myself and be more conscious about what I purchase. I also really want to make sure that I'm enjoying and using everything on my collection! (I certainly don't expect myself to be perfect each month with my budget; but, I really like knowing I'm thinking my purchases through!)

Shoppers Haul ~ $3.88 CAN. Oh ya, you read that right! I've mentioned here before that I'm rather obsessed with PC Optimum points - I've always shopped at Superstore and am a member to the PC Insiders for free grocery pick up, etc. But, there is something so fulfilling about getting all this stuff for free!

Urban Decay Game of Thrones Eyeshadow Palette and Sansa Stark Vice Lipstick

Woo hoo - the Urban Decay Game of Thrones collection comes out in stores today, May 2, 2019 at Sephora! It's already been released on Urban Decay's website (and has since totally sold out), and it is also available on the Sephora website! Yes, I was one of those people that stayed up late and purchased a couple of products from the Urban Decay site at launch time (I was reasonable and only grabbed a couple of things though!)

I'm a pretty big Game of Thrones fan - I've read all the books and seen all the shows, and since those books are really long, I can brag that I'm a true fan (I'm only kind of kidding to those of you who haven't read the books...). But really, I'm a big fan - my husband's birthday parties have been Game of Thrones themed, I've cooked a ton of food featured in the books and I'm pretty sure for the finale we are going to a costume party.

I've been pretty honest on here that I hadn't really tried a lot of  drug store brands prior to blogging - I really stuck in my Sephora bubble. And, blogging has really opened my eyes to drugstore makeup quality and given me the opportunity to try different brands than I normally would!

That being said, I don't think I've ever tried a product from Almay and that made me excited to try this new Spring products out from the brand! Almay's makeup products are designed with sensitive skin in mind - they are hypoallergenic and fragrance free! It's always great to see affordable, accessible makeup products that won't irritate the skin, especially for those that are sensitive!
