Happy Skincare Sunday everyone! I love night creams, and I have quite a few I rotate through on a regular basis! Night creams come in as the last step of your nighttime routine; I always use a regular moisturizer before applying my night cream because to me, night cream is for extra moisture, not to be used instead of a moisturizer (just my preference though, I love my multi-step routine!)
Vichy Idealia Skin Sleep ~ $52.00. Vichy laboratories created a powerful synergy of active ingredients capable of stimulating all of skin's deep sleep mechanisms to recreate and optimize their repairing effects.

Five on Friday - February 26, 2016
Can you believe this is the last week of February already? I hate to say it again, but this month has just flown by! My week has been good - pretty quiet and back to the normal routine around here!
ONE
I gave in and made myself a Facebook page for See The World in PINK! It's a little weird expanding beyond my normal social medias for the blog and it is still a work in progress, but I would if you came and showed my page some love!

US Shopping Haul!!! Huge Skincare and Makeup Shop!
As most of you know I was just recently down in California for a vacation and really wanted to do some makeup shopping. I have never been to Ulta before and we don't have Target in Canada any longer so those were my 2 "must go" places! I was really looking for items that aren't available in Canada at this time (seems a little crazy, but there is so many brands that just don't sell here!!!) Some of the items are available in Canada, but since I don't shop that much I grabbed a ton of stuff! The dollar isn't great right now (although it did go up right before our trip) so I wanted to make sure I was getting good quality items too!!
All items will be in US dollars for this post, and there was some sales at the stores while I was there in person, but I am just using the website prices!
Here is a look at what I picked up from Ulta:
NYX Cosmetics Blotting Papers ~ $3.99 US. NYX Top Selling Blotting Paper: Is the makeup artist secret to blot excess oil and combat shine. Does not clog pores or disturb the makeup look. Can be used during, after and between makeup applications.

My Beauty Diary Strawberry Yogurt Mask ~ $2.19 (10 for $21.90). Skin-balancing sheet mask steeps skin in natural strawberry essence that cleanses and moisturizes with its fruit acids, minerals and enzymes. February 2016 Beauty Box Comparison - Ipsy vs. Topbox vs. Birchbox
Here is a look at the chart comparison between Ipsy, Topbox and Birchbox:
I was surprised with the value of Birchbox this month - it was way higher than normal. Topbox and Ipsy were both very on par with their regular values and item breakdowns.

February 2016 - Birchbox Canada Review and Unboxing
Birchbox is the original sample beauty box and started shipping to Canada last year. It is $10 a month + $4.95 shipping to Canada. Each month you receive 5 sample (or full size) products based on a beauty profile you complete.
My last post about Birchbox indicated that they have decided to put their Canadian subscriptions "on hold" - which in my terms means they are never coming back! There was a bit of a mess in how they would refund my yearly subscription as I was only a few months in but they did give me my money back so it worked out.
February is my last month of Birchbox:
Birchbox usually comes in cute boxes and each month has a different design!

February 2016 Topbox - Review and Unboxing
TopBox is a Canadian Beauty Box Subscription - for $12 CDN a month with free shipping, you will receive 4 deluxe sample size or full size products. You fill out a beauty profile and generally receive products based on what you have identified in the profile. Also, every month you have the option to wish for a "prive" box, which is a box that focuses on one brand or product for the whole box.
TopBox is a Canadian company and only ships to Canada. There is usually a month or two waitlist for this subscription.
For this month, I requested a regular Topbox - here is a look at what I received:
For this subscription, you choose an organza bag or a cardboard tube for it to ship in - I always choose these bags as I find so many uses for them! Topbox also includes a detailed product card explaining what was included.

Five on Friday - February 19, 2016
Happy Friday everyone! This week has been a bit busy for me trying to get back in to the routine of life coming back from vacation! So sorry I'm a little slow getting back up to posting, but I am working on it! I received the best news while away on holidays - I'm an Aunty now! Woo hoo!! My husband's sister had a little boy on February 11, 2016 and I am over the moon excited about it!
ONE
Did you guys see my Valentine's makeup on my Instagram? I would have liked to make a post about the look; but, since I was on holidays I couldn't do it! I used the Coastal Scents Revealed 2 palette for the eyes and the LASplash Studio Shine Waterproof Lip Lustre (Matte) - Aurora. This is a beautiful color; but it is a little hard to apply - it can be slightly patchy but a couple of layers and it worked well! It lasted all night long and this color is amazing!

Manicure Tuesday - Essence Cosmetics Pastel Ombre Top Coat Review
I'm back from vacation - thanks for being patient with me! I hope everyone had an amazing week! I'm will getting back in to posts as quickly as I can!
I broke a nail while on vacation so I had to cut the rest down, and I have soooo many goodies from my trip that I can't wait to dig in to! Including the Essence Cosmetics Ombre Top Coat - it is supposed to lighten your polish I coat at a time for an ombre effect without lightening the color yourself while applying!
Here is a look at my Mani of the Week:
Ahhh... okay I know it is clearly patchy and really uneven! With my first attempt at this, I'm not super impressed. It did not go on smooth and was hard to make even on the nails. Each layer of top coat had to dry, but the more layers you added, the more uneven and blotchy it got!

Skincare Sunday Product Review - Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Liquid
I was really excited a few months back when I received the Dr. Jart Ceramidin Liquid in my Birchbox! I had been eyeing this product up for months, but was trying to be good and not buy new products until I used up a little bit of my stash!
Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Liquid ~ sample size pictured (full size is 5 oz for $49.00). This liquid skin saver plumps and seals dull, dry skin for all day moisture. The serum acts as a liquid cushion that strengthens and protects skin barrier from chronic water loss with the power of ceramides. It transforms rough and dehydrated skin into a hydrated, healthy glow.

Five on Friday - February 5, 2016
Happy Friday everyone! Hope everyone has had a great week - mine has been good, surprisingly quiet this week (which I will not complain about at all!)
ONE
Let's chat about the big announcement of the week - Birchbox Canada! Here is there Facebook announcement (because as a yearly subscriber I did not even get the courtesy of an email from the company):
"We are so sad to let you know that we have made the difficult decision to put our Canada operations on hold. We love our Canadian customers, but with the current exchange rate and high shipping costs, we can't create the Birchbox experience at a price that is fair to you. We will do what we can to make that a possibility; until then, please know that we sincerely appreciate your support and enthusiasm for Birchbox, and we plan to take good care of our Canadian subscribers as we wind down in this market.
For all Birchbox subscribers, February 2016 will be your last shipment.
If you have a monthly subscription, you will no longer be billed after February. If you have an annual subscription, you will be credited the remaining value of your subscription in Birchbox Points or a refund.
You have until April 30, 2016 to spend all your Birchbox Points (including your current points and those credited from your subscription)."

Becca Highlighter Comparison and Reviews - "Shimmering Skin Perfector" Pressed vs. Poured vs. Liquid
I have to say that I love highlighters, and Becca is well known for making some of the best highlighters out there (Champagne Pop anyone?!) But if you look at their highlighters, or shimmering skin perfectors as they are called, you will notice that there is 3 different types of them: pressed, poured and liquid.
I thought I would compare the 3 types to help decipher the difference between the different types: Pressed vs. Poured vs. Liquid
The three Becca Highlighters I will be comparing are:
- Becca Shimmering Skin Protector Pressed - Champagne Pop
- Becca Shimmering Skin Protector Poured - Opal
- Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector (Liquid) - Opal

Wine + Mask Wednesday (Copper Moon Sauvignon Blanc + Passport To Beauty Gold Radiance Mask)
Yay Wednesday - I found some Wine again this week so things are looking up around here! (just kidding, my basement renos are going to last forever, but at least I scrounged up a glass of wine for the evening!) This week's theme is "gold"!
Here is a look at my Mask of the Week:
Here is a look at my Mask of the Week:
Passport to Beauty - Gold Radiance Luxury Facial Mask with Collagen and Rose Oil ~ 1 mask for $32.50 ($65 for 2 mask set). Egyptians believed the healing powers of gold could cure all manner of physical, mental and spiritual ailments. Romans used gold preparations for treatment of skin lesions and sores. It is believed that Cleopatra wore pure gold for a radiant complexion. In ancient Chinese medicine, gold was the secret to youthful skin.
