I love nothing more than recapping my year and reflecting over everything that has happened! I'm not really one for New Year's Resolutions; but, I love looking back on the highlights of my year!
I know a lot of people say how terrible 2017 was; but, I had so many personal life moments this year that I personally thought 2017 was one of my favorite years! I'm always looking forward to the next year and hope 2018 is just as amazing!
Family Vacation in Kauai, Hawaii
We were so lucky to ring in 2017 in Kauai, Hawaii with our little family and my husband's extended family and it was such a great vacation! I have never been to Hawaii before and Kauai was a beautiful island! I'm still planning on writing a travel post (which actually is waaay longer to write than my normal posts!) so you can have more details! Also, apparently it's very common to vacation in Hawaii while pregnant to give the baby some Aloha!

December 2017 Monthly Favorites!
Here at my top 5 products that I have been loving this month:
Make Up For Ever Artist Face Color Blush Powder in S214 "Rosewood Blush" ~ full size $29.00 (sample size shown here). A unique pressed powder formula providing intense color payoff.
This is just a mini size blush that I picked up as a Sephora point item and I wasn't actually sure about the colour when I first got it; but, it is gorgeous! It's a deeper rose shade and it looks so warm on the cheeks! I haven't tried very many Make Up For Ever products yet, but this has opened my eyes to start trying more!

December 2017 Boxycharm - Unboxing, Swatches, Reviews and Full Makeup Try-on!
Boxycharm is a beauty subscription box for $21.00 a month + $5.00 shipping to Canada (shipping is free to the U.S.) Boxycharm sends 4 to 5 full size and luxury size beauty items.
This subscription focuses heavily on make-up items - so that is something to keep in mind! While it is a little pricier than the more inexpensive beauty boxes, the majority of the products are full size, with a deluxe sample every once in a while.
Every subscriber generally receives the same products, but their is usually 1 or 2 items that have a few variations, so our boxes may not be identical!
Here is a look at my December Boxycharm:
This month's theme is Glitz & Glam and Boxycharm always includes a detailed product card explaining the items that were included in each month's subscription.
So I will say before we get in to the products - 1 of these is a repeat from a past Boxycharm; but, Boxycharm emailed before I even received the box in mail and apologized and to make up for it, I will be receiving an extra item in my January box. I appreciate that they resolved the issue before I even saw my box!

Five on Friday - December 22, 2017
Happy Friday everyone! Holy - can you believe it is December 22 already?! Yesterday was the first day of Winter, 3 more days until Christmas, and 10 more days until it's 2018! Whoa! It will be a little quiet around here for a few days as I take some extra time for family during the holidays! I'm excited to host Christmas at my house this year; but, we have lots of family time to juggle around (and a husband's shift work schedule to work with as well!)
ONE
Eeeek - it's almost Christmas time! I have always been a huge Christmas fan; but, I am even more excited this year! It will be Elliott's first Christmas - and while, he will be more interested in the paper than the gifts, I just can't wait to see him open some gifts! I still remember Damian's first Christmas, so I know this will be a Christmas to remember!

Skincare Sunday - Lush Christmas Collection!
It's no secret, I'm a pretty dedicated Lushie here! I always get excited for their holidays collections; but, especially their Christmas collection! I always look forward to what new goodies they will come out with each year or if they will re-release my past holiday favorites! (They always release some past products, but it is not guaranteed that anything limited edition from a previous holiday release will come back!)
I felt like they released soooo many products this Christmas that I had to put a limit on myself with how many goodies that I was going to pick up!
How amazing do all these goodies look?! Everything Lush releases is always so adorable! Lush is really going "naked" and trying to release more and more products with no packaging!
I'm the biggest fan of the Snow Fairy scent from Lush's Christmas collection - so I was so excited to see not only a Snow Fairy shower gel and lotion released this year, but a ton more Snow Fairy products released including a soap, sparkle jar, fun and more!

November 2017 - Monthly Watch Club Unboxing
I always love finding new and fun subscription boxes to share - especially Canadian subscription boxes! Subscription boxes always have a bit of a special place here on the blog; because, that's actually what I starting blogging about!
I also love finding interesting and unique boxes and I think Monthly Watch Club offers a different type of service, especially for any accessory lover! This is also a great gift to send to someone as a Christmas gift!

Five on Friday - December 15, 2017
Happy Friday everyone! Holy, what a week... if I thought I was sick last week, it was nothing compared to this week! The whole family had a crazy flu that came in and kicked our butts this week! I had to cancel every single thing I had on the go; but, thankfully we were all feeling better today (But now I have 2 weeks of stuff to catch up on - it's going to be a busy weekend!)

November 2017 - Monthly Empties & Month in Masks
Time to dig in my beauty garbage of the month! I'm also trying something new this month and adding my Month in Masks post to me empties post as well! Now, there will just be 1 big empties post instead of 2 different ones!
Lush Cup O' Coffee Face And Body Mask ~ $11.95 - $22.95.
This is one of my favorite masks! You will need to like coffee to enjoy this - it smells very strong! It is a great exfoliator and I love using it in the morning. It is a body and face mask so I usually apply it all over, wait 5 minutes and then jump in the shower to rinse it all off! My skin always feels really smooth and looks bright!

Five on Friday - December 8, 2017
Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all had a great week! I was sick earlier this week so I was out of commission for a couple of days; but, was feeling better by the end of the week! I was able to go out today and spend the day at a craft fair with my mom; which, I love!
ONE
Hehe - how cute is this?! I ordered my kitties some Cat Wine for Christmas! I'm dying - I seriously can't wait for them to drink their Meow Mosa and Pinot Meow with me! I will do my best to capture a perfect picture for instagram (good luck I know!) One of my cats is crazy for catnip, so we will see how this goes!

Manicure Tuesday - Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear Polish in Pep-plum!
Happy Manicure everyone! I sadly had to say good-bye to my long nails this week; because, I broke 2 last week! Also, it feels like forever since I did any nail art as I have had so many polishes to swatch and show off; but, I just signed up for a Christmas Nail Art Challenge through Nail Polish Canada, so I will have some nail art coming soon!
For now, I HAD to show-off this gorgeous shade from Sally Hansen:
Sally Hasen polishes are affordable and I have always been a huge fan! These range anywhere from $2-$5 and are easy to find at any drugstore!

Today we brought Elliott to meet Santa for the first time! I was secretly hoping that he might be scared of Santa and have a great crying photo; but, he loved him so I guess that's just as good!

November 2017 - What I Bought This Month!
It's time for my monthly haul - I have really enjoyed seeing what I buy every month! I like that I get to share everything I have purchased (because really some of it would get lost in my beauty collection if I didn't!) Also these posts helps to keep me on track - I am planning on trying to only spend around $100 per month on beauty since I am be on a smaller budget with a new baby!
I will only include products I have spent money on - gifts, pr samples, and freebies are usually shared on posts like my Five on Friday posts!
Here is what I bought in November:
Sephora Order #1 ~ $52.08. Ahh.. the first of a few Sephora orders this month! This order was made during the first weekend of the VIB Rouge sale so everything here was 20%! I think I was fairly reasonable during the sale - I picked up another Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer because mine is running low. And, I picked up 2 new products - The Brazilian Crush Body Fragrance Mist (because I really loved the smell of the Bum Bum cream), and the House of Lashes lash glue because why not try it on sale - I heard it is amazing! I also picked up the Tarte Birthday gift and 3 samples from Fresh Beauty and Verb!

Mask Wednesday - Kiehl's Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque Review
Happy Mask Wednesday - I have actually tried this mask a couple of times now and I'm finally ready to review this one!
I have been looking for a new Turmeric mask since I have finished the Juara mask that I really liked - turmeric is really beneficial to the skin and is great for soothing, and brightening!
Kiehl's Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque ~ $50.00 for 100 ml or $22.00 for 28 ml. Our "instant facial" brightens and energizes the look of dull, fatigued skin to restore a healthy, rosy appearance. Formulated with Cranberry seeds and Turmeric, this invigorating masque helps soften skin and gently exfoliates it, for smoother, brighter, illuminated looking skin.

L'Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara - Try-on and Review!
I have tried many mascaras over the years and rarely do I find one that does everything I want for my lashes - full thick lashes, lots of volume and nicely separated lashes! I also prefer a drier formula as I find I can apply 3 coats quickly without clumping. I have always been a 3 coat mascara person - even if it looks good after 1 coat, I will always add more! I want my lashes to stand out!
I am quite picky about my mascara if you can't tell already! I also prefer a full brush and do not like using the plastic bristles! Some past favorites that I love (for some comparisons) are Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes, Benefit BadGal Lash, Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara and similar formulas to those!
L'Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara ~ $13.99 CAN (prices vary in stores and online). Voluptuous volume. Intense length. Full lash fringe. Feathery soft.
Take your lashes to paradise with voluptuous volume and intense length. Soft wavy bristle brush holds the maximum amount of formula. 200+ bristles catch every lash for a dramatic volumizing effect. Silky smooth formula glides on evenly and easily. This volumizing and lengthening mascara delivers a full lash fringe that's feathery soft. No flaking. No smudging. No clumping.

Stila Written in the Stars Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow Set - Diamond Dust, Kitten Karma and Smoky Storm ~ Swatches and Thoughts
I'm one of those people that doesn't really get why Holiday makeup sets come out in September; because, I can't talk about them until November and December! I absolutely love Christmas; but, I'm also a pretty die hard Halloween fan so I just have to wait until the day after Halloween to talk Christmas anything - even makeup!
But, then we run in to a problem with so Holiday sets - if they are super limited edition, then by the time I talk about them in November, they may be harder to find!
Stila Written in the Stars Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow Set ~ $33.00 CAN. Add starry-eyed sparkle this holiday season with this trio of long-wearing, lustrous eye shadows. The perfect mix of pearl and glitter adorns eyes with incredible sequin-like shine. Includes three deluxe sizes of our favorite dazzling shades.
I think this is one of those Christmas sets that was not in stock very long - I randomly came across it in stock on Sephora (I had a email reminder set and did not get the in stock email!) so I scooped it up right away! I don't think it was in stock very long, because I haven't seen it back!

Winky Lux Kitten Palette - Review, Swatches and Makeup Look!
Okay, okay - don't take this as a cop out post! I did just share my quick thoughts on this palette in my November Boxycharm post; but, if I'm being honest I know there are some people who aren't interested in subscription box reviews, so I thought I would share a closer look at this palette!
Winky Lux Kitten Palette ~ $25.00 US. Inspired by the velvety feel of our feline friends, these ultra soft shadows glide on like a dream. The universally flattering collection of shades makes this palette as lovable as a kitten.
Winky Lux is a new brand to me - I have only had it pop up in a couple of Boxycharm boxes. Winky Lux is a newer brand (about 2 years) that is dedicated to creating non-toxic, cruelty free, paraben free, and phtalate free makeup that is richly pigmented at a reasonable price point.

Mask Wednesday - Tony Moly Master Lab "Intensive Moisturizing Ultra Collagen" Mask Sheet
Happy Mask Day! I am always interested in trying new masks from brands that I'm really familiar with - especially, when they are more expensive with greater claims! You know, like are they better? Are they worth the extra money? I plan to test that out with a Master Lab mask from Tony Moly!
Tony Moly Master Lab Sheet Mask - Intensive Moisturizing Ultra Collagen ~ $9.00 US for a set of 2 masks. Our Master Lab Sheet Mask Collection features an ultra thin hydrating sheet mask made of natural cellulose for even and consistent absorption of active ingredients! Each Mask features a customized formula that targets specific skin concerns.
This mask uses a cellulose material as opposed to a regular pulp or cotton sheet mask. I love a cellulose mask - they are super soft and well fitting on the face. And hands down, I would pay more for a better quality sheet.

November 2017 - Boxycharm Unboxing, Swatches, Full Try-on and Review!
(I personally love all the makeup though and they have sent full size palettes in the past!) While it is a little pricier than the more inexpensive beauty boxes, the majority of the products are full size, with a deluxe sample every once in a while.
Every subscriber generally receives the same products, but their is usually 1 or 2 items that have a few variations, so our boxes may not be identical!
Here is a look at my November Boxycharm:
This month's Theme is "Sweater Weather" which seems appropriate for November! Boxycharm always includes a detailed product card explaining the items that were included in each month's subscription.

Five on Friday - November 17, 2017
Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all had a great week - mine was a little busy but good! I think i'm getting repetitive; but, the baby is teething again this week and has had a few rough nights! So, the days seem to be longer when there is something on the go and I am getting less sleep! Enough complaining though, here are some highlights from my week:
ONE
I just received my package from the CBB Secret Santa! Every year a group of beauty bloggers get together and swap gifts - we usually swap makeup; but, my little wishlist had everything from makeup to teas to books! I already tried the Pluck Icewine Berry and it's so good! Plus, 13 Reasons Why was on my to-read list and the mug so cute!
Plus, my Santa chose to remain anonymous, so thanks to my Secret Santa!

Smashbox Drawn In. Decked Out. Shadow + Highlight Palette Set Review ~ Ablaze Cover Shot, Sultry Cover Shot & Pearl Spotlight Palettes!
'Tis the season for all the amazing beauty holiday sets! I'm not going to lie, in general I wasn't feeling a ton of brands holiday sets - I find them to be a little repetitive and this year there wasn't a lot that jumped out at me!
Insert the exception - Smashbox! This Drawn In. Decked Out. Shadow + Highlight Palette set looked amazing! I had been eyeing the Smashbox Ablaze Cover Shot palette for a while and it was sold out for so long that it slipped my mind for a while! But, then I saw it in this set and had to have it! In addition to including 3 beautiful palettes (1 limited edition and exclusive to this set) it was a fantastic deal!
Smashbox Drawn In. Decked Out. Shadow + Highlight Palette Set Review ~ $48.00 CAN. This set of palettes brings you three highlight shades and 16 on-trend eye shadow shades. It’s everything you need to create makeup looks that range from holiday parties to everyday chic.
Now, this may be a little repetitive for some people - if you already jumped on the Ablaze bandwagon, or purchased the Spotlight Pearl highlight palette when it was released, then you might not be thrilled with this set. But, for me it is not because all 3 of these are new to me! The Ablaze Cover Shot palette is absolutely gorgeous - just what I expected! The Sultry Cover Shot palette is really pretty as well. Plus, I'm a fan of he highlight shades - they certainly won't work for all skin shades; but, they work well for me.

Mask Wednesday - Aprilskin Magic Snow Mask Try-on and Review!
I don't know about where you are; but, here in Calgary it is full-blown Winter. Snow everywhere and cold! So, doesn't it seem appropriate that I use a mask this week called Magic Snow?!
AprilSkin Magic Snow Mask ~ $25.00 US for a box of 10. Magic Snow Mask is infused with 19 naturally derived ingredients including Sparassis crispa extract to nourish dry and dull skin, and achieve a brighter and refreshing complexion.
I received this mask in an In8Beauty subscription and I'm always in to trying new masks and different brands! Aprilskin is a new brand to me! I love their packaging - of course, snow would be great for brightening and moisturizing the skin!

Manicure Tuesday - Nails Inc Unicorn Nail Polish Duo "Rainbow Wishes" and "Dream Dust" Swatches
Happy Mani Day everyone! I know some people are feeling over the whole Unicorn trend; but, I could not resist these Unicorn nail polishes from Nails Inc! They are so gorgeous! So I think whether your still feeling the unicorns or not, you are going to be intrigued by these polishes!
Nails Inc Sparkle Like a Unicorn Duo ~ $16.00 CAN. Give your hooves an iridescent makeover with this gleaming duo. Choose from two unicorn looks: dreamy, soft sheen rainbow or blinding sparkle with 3D pigment. Wear them alone or together for full unicorn magic. Both polishes have been formulated with a long-wear system and feature the NAILS INC. wide brush for flawless application.
One of the best part about buying this duo is that this comes with 2 full sized nail polishes and is the price of 1 full sized Nails Inc polish! Plus, both of these polishes are stunning! I would have bought them likely regardless of the unicorn branding because they are really unique shades (especially Rainbow Wishes!)

Viseart Petit Pro 1 Eyeshadow Palette - Review, Swatches and Makeup Look!
I have been wanting to try Viseart for forever; but, it's quite an expensive brand - it's hard to justify spending $100 on a palette without having tried the brand before! Also, I love when brands have mini palettes; because, I love travel size palettes and they are so cute an easy to come up with shadow combos!
Viseart is a high-performance makeup line that uses the best of plant-based natural resources with modern technology to create quality makeup that naturally enhance the skin! Again, this is a high quality brand and there palettes are not inexpensive, but if they are high quality then I wouldn't hesitate to buy more from the brand!

Skincare Sunday - Vichy Makeup Removing Micellar Cleansing Wipes Review
Happy Skincare Sunday everyone! I don't consider myself a super picky person; but, for some reason I really struggle to find face wipes that I like for my skin and actually remove all my makeup! I have only found one or to that work really well - I find most are too dry or just don't work on all my makeup.
I was excited when I heard that Vichy just released some new makeup removing micellar wipes! I have my fingers crossed that these work well!
Vichy Makeup Removing Micellar Cleansing Wipes ~ $14.95 for a pack of 25 wipes. A one-step cleansing solution that cleanses, removes waterproof makeup for the face, eyes & lips while soothing the skin.
These are hypoallergenic and are free of fragrance, alcohol and parabens so they are suitable for all over the face, including eyes and are gentle enough for sensitive skin! They claim to remove all impurities from the skin, plus remove all traces of makeup including waterproof makeup!

Travel Post - Orlando, Florida ~ Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, and Swimming With Manatees!
I'm going to take a little break from Beauty posts today and share some fun travel bits! I love to travel; but, I don't do it very often! We usually take a small trip every year or two (think a few days or week in California), with big trips (Hawaii, Honeymoon) every few years.
It's no secret that my family looooves going to Disney - or at least my husband and I do, the verdict is still out on my older son (and the baby will decide in January whether or not he likes it!). But, I really wanted to experience The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Florida (they do have a small bit in Universal Studios Hollywood; but, I think any true Harry Potter fan needs to see the huge set up in Florida!) Also, as a true Disney fan, I really wanted to check out Disney World and the 4 Disney parks!
Three years ago (to the month) I planned a huge trip to Florida - and, I'm talking PLANNED! The first thing you need to know about Disney World is that it would be very difficult just to wing it. Disneyland is much smaller and can easily be an unplanned, quick trip; but, Disney World in Florida is not small. Think, it has 4 theme parks, 2 water parks, golf courses and over 20 hotels - it's huge!! Disney recommends you plan at least 6 months in advanced and after planning a trip myself, I would vouch that you should be planning at least 6 months in advance, if not a little longer - I was planning 9 to 12 months out.
