Here are the top 5 things I have been loving in January!
Note Cosmetics Luminous Silk Compact Blusher in Desert Rose ~ $15.75 CAN. With special active ingredients including argan oil to boost moisture levels in skin, this formula adds luminosity and cares for skin at the same time.
I got this blush in one my last Boxycharm's last year and I didn't try it for a few months as I thought it was more of a Spring/Summer color; but, it's actually this perfect peachy shade with just a little pink in it that gives an amazing glow! I pulled this out for my January Monthly Makeup Basket and I'm so happy I did! Along with a gorgeous shade, it's got the perfect amount of pigmentation that doesn't go on too heavy or light - it's lovely!

January 2019 What I Bought - Monthly Haul
I have been loving these Monthly Haul posts - they give me a way to share everything I picked up each month, and honestly, I pick up so much stuff sometimes that you don't hear anything about it until it's in my empties posts! If you see anything you want me to talk about, just let me know.
Also, this year I plan on holding myself to my $100 a month budget - I have talked about this a fair bit recently. I pick up so much stuff, that I get distracted and forget to focus on my collection. So, in addition to my Palette of the Week post, I started adding a Monthly Makeup Basket and a Shop My Stash post each month to get use out of everything!
Sephora Shopping Haul ~ $41.35 CAN (Was $91.35 - I had a gift card). Oh, I love ordering with a gift card, so much more exciting! So, for February a few of us CBBers are doing a whole month of Masking in February. Each week we have a theme and one theme is Luxury, so I had to pick up some new goodies for the week - Tatcha, SK-II, AmorePacific, and Dr. Jart masks! The add on sample is the Lise Watier mascara, and the 2 freebies were the Sephora wipes and the Kate Somerville Wrinkle Warrior.

January Shop My Stash - Teal Turquoise Glittery Eyeshadow Look
I said earlier at the beginning of the year that at least once per month, I wanted to "Shop My Stash" and come up with fun makeup looks with products that can get forgotten about in my collection. This months look was all about the deep teals and a bold eye look!
I tend to love everything new and shiny and can easily get distracted by wanting to play with everything new and exciting; but, I really love my makeup and don't want to have anything get lost in my collection!

Manicure Monday - Broken Glass Nails
Happy Manicure Monday everyone! This week I'm trying out a nail technique that I have been wanting to try for a while; but, haven't tried yet!
I know I'm a little late to the game with some of these techniques; but, last week I tried nail foils and it's been so long that they were "in", that I saw new nail foils on Ulta, so it looks like they are coming back! So, maybe it's not bad to be late to the nail trend train!

Skincare Sunday - Leaders 7 Wonders Mask Amazonian Acai
Happy Skincare Sunday everyone! I always love talking about new masks on here and I feel like it's been a while since I've talked about a Leader's mask on here!
Leaders 7 Wonders Mask - Amazonian Acai ~ $6.00 CAN. Acai extract purifies skin and curbs damage from environmental stressors.
I came across these Leaders 7 Wonders masks when I was strolling through Anthropologie a little while ago, and I picked up a couple of different types to try! I have tried a few Leaders mask years ago and liked them, so I was excited to try these! Plus, these are a Bio-cellulose Mask and that's by far my favorite mask material to use!

Travel Post - Los Angeles, California & Universal Studios with a Baby!
It's hard to believe that it's already been a year since we were in Los Angeles and Anaheim for our family vacation! I could go back every year to California for a vacation - I always enjoy myself!
While we have visited Universal Studios every time we are on a California vacation, this is the first time that I've actually stayed in Los Angeles for a couple of days. We thought with a big group of us and a baby, that it was easier to spend a few days instead of trying to do a long day trip!

Five on Friday - January 25, 2019
Happy Friday everyone! I've had possibly the craziest busy work week of my life - so exhausted, I'm so happy it is the weekend!
ONE
The highlight of my week was Damian turning 14 years old! This is so hard to believe - the time seemed to fly by! He wanted to celebrate with Fat Burger, dessert and a little party with his friends this weekend! Also, he wants to get his Learner's Licence because he's old enough now!

Beautylish Lucky Bag 2019 Unboxing!
I was so excited to receive my 2018 Beautylish Lucky Bag in the mail! I'm such a sucker for these mystery beauty bags (or mystery box in terms of how it arrives!)
Every Boxing Day (or December 26 for you non-Canadians), Beautylish releases the pre-order for their Lucky Bags which ship in early January (and if you are interested, these sell out quickly!) These boxes are $75.00 US + $15.00 shipping to Canada (with exchange I paid $130.84 CAN); but, you are guaranteed at least $150.00 US worth of makeup. They are all totally random, so it is a complete surprise what you get. Some are extra lucky and include gift cards, etc.
I picked up the regular lucky bag for fair/medium skin, and my bag shipped from California on January 16 and arrived in Alberta on January 22 - so super fast shipping! (There was also XL lucky bags, Jeffree Star Lucky Bags, and a Buy One Gift One as other options).
Here is a look at my 2019 Beautylish Lucky Bag:
The Lucky Bags are described as "Lucky Bags are a Japanese New Year custom that inspired us to create our own. The sumo wrestlers, or rikishi, on this year's Lucky Bags are said to bring good luck and fortune. We hope the surprises inside make your 2019 a little more lucky."
I was pretty excited when I opened my package and saw the goodies that I received in my Lucky Bag! I received 6 products from Viseart, Hourglass, Wayne Goss, Good Molecules, Jouer and Kevyn Aucoin!

Covergirl Exhibitionist Mascara - Tryon and Review
I always get excited when a new mascara launches that promises full, thick, volumized lashes, especially when they are drugstore brands! Covergirl recently made a big splash in the beauty world by announcing that they have gone cruelty free and are leaping bunny certified, so that is very exciting for a drugstore brand!
I can be rather picky about my mascara formula - I happen to have long and curled lashes, so really all I want from a mascara is a full, volumized look. And, not just a little volumized, I'm talking full, thick lashes - but, not clumpy looking!

Manicure Monday - Scratch Reverie Wraps with Gold Foil Accents
Happy Manicure Monday! This whole month, the #CBBxManiMonday group is all doing our nails based on the theme "Nails We Wouldn't Normally Do"!
So, these look very similar to nails that I would do; but, I definitely added some techniques that I don't normally do!
So, the first thing I don't normally every do is negative space nails - I think I've done it twice ever, and to be totally honest, I'm not the biggest fan of my nails peeking through! And then, I added nail foils which I've never done before! (I think I'm years behind trying this!)

Skincare Sunday - Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturizer
Well, since I've been reviewing some Summerish products this week - the Too Faced Tutti Fruitti collection (which is adorable btw), so why not stick to a fun, fruity theme for this week's Skincare Sunday?!
I've already raved about the Glow Recipe Watermelon line on here a whole bunch! This moisturizer made my December Monthly Favorites and I've been using it for a couple of months now! So, spoiler alert - I already love this product!

Five on Saturday - January 18, 2019
Happy Saturday everyone! I hope you've all had a great week - I am so damn busy at the moment at work and this week coming up is even crazier (I need a day off soon!!!) So, I'm going to relax and enjoy the weekend!
ONE
So, the highlight of my week is that I got a mini fridge for my skincare! I have been considering buying one for months; because, I love the idea of having some of skincare items chilled! Buuut, when I get ready my master bedroom is a floor up from my kitchen and I will be honest and say I would not go downstairs to get something out of the fridge, apply it and put it back. So, I needed a way to chill them where I get ready!

Fashion Angels Face Mask #BestSelfie
I was browsing Chapters a little while ago and I came across some fun printed masks, so of course I had to pick one up and try it out!
Fashion Angels Face Mask #BestSelfie ~ $6.95 CAN. This printed sheet mask is not only fun to apply it's also great for your skin! The rainbow print will make you smile while nourishing your face with Avocado. Don't forget to take a Selfie!
I've never seen or heard of this brand before; but, I thought this mask looked so fun! They have a couple different printed masks, including one that has a flower crown, so they will certainly appeal to anyone who loves the fun snapchat or instagram filters!

Too Faced Tutti Frutti Collection - Razzle Dazzle Berry, Sparkling Pineapple, Fruit Cocktail and It's Bananas
Alright, this post is long overdue; but, we could all use a little bit of Summer in the middle of Winter, right?!
This collection was released in mid-August and I picked up a few goodies right away! My only complaint is that this collection is an Ulta exclusive! Ulta does ship to Canada now, so this collection is accessible; but, at a bit of a higher cost.

Manicure Monday - Simple Nude Nails
Happy Manicure Monday everyone! If you're thinking that these nails look really different than what I normally do, it's because all of January the #CBBxManiMonday group is doing "Nails We Wouldn't Normally Do"!
I rarely, if ever, wear nude polishes on my nails! I always just go with pinks and brighter polishes, and it seems so quiet to wear a nude polish! (And normally I like my nails anything but quiet!)

Skincare Sunday - Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop
Happy Skincare Sunday everyone! Klairs is a brand that I have been really interested in trying products from - I have a sheet mask from the brand calling my name!
So, when the chance to try out a serum from the brand came along, I was really excited to give it a go! Klairs is a k-beauty brand really focused on ingredients and the environment - they provide simple skincare without harsh chemicals, additives, alcohol, parabens, or artificial chemicals and fragrances.

Five on Saturday - January 12, 2019
Hi everyone - happy Saturday! I hope you all had a great week! Mine was rather busy - it included a work trip up to Edmonton; but, since my husband and I were both training up there a day apart from each other, we decided to pack up the family and make a quick trip out of it! If anyone tells you that travelling with a toddler is easy, they are probably lying! It was a pretty crazy 2 days with a very busy little boy!
ONE
I got a day with the boys in West Edmonton Mall and despite the look on Elliott's face, he actually loved watching the Sea Lion show and then seeing the animals after - they have sharks, turtles and penguins to look at! Then they spent the next day at the waterpark while I was working!

Mask Wednesday - Farmacy Hydrating Coconut Gel Sheet Mask
Happy Mask Wednesday everyone! A few years ago, I raved about Farmacy masks - they had a Broccoli Brightening mask that I loved and it was a favorite of mine, so when I went to repurchase them last year, I was so surprised to see different masks, and I had really hoped that they were just as good as the original masks!
Farmacy Coconut Gel Sheet Mask - Hydrating ~ $8.00 CAN. A coconut water-infused sheet mask with ultra-hydrating hyaluronic acid and cucumber extract for a healthy-looking glow.
This mask targets dullness, dryness and uneven skintone and texture. In terms of ingredients, the mask features coconut water for moisture and brightness, hyaluronic acid for intense hydration, cucumber for calming, and echinacea greenenvy for an even, healthy complexion.

Esqido Gel Eyeliner Pencils - Swatches, Review and Try-on!
I've talked about Esqido before here - they make gorgeous lashes! And now, just recently they've launched gel eyeliners to their collection!
I'm a fan of the Esqido lashes, so I'm excited to see that they are expanding their range in to makeup products as well!

Manicure Monday - Double Stamped Nails
Happy Mani Monday everyone! For the whole month of January, the #CBBxManiMonday group will be doing "Nails We Wouldn't Normally Do" and I think this is such a fun theme to get the year started!
I'm still getting the hang of nail stamping; but, it is something I'm really working on. So, when I see people doubling up their stamping, I've always wanted to try it too! Plus, this blue is a really unique polish shade and I never wear blue polishes either! So, I thought this would be a fun way to double up on things I never do on my nails!

December 2018 - Monthly Empties and Month in Masks
Time to dig in to my beauty garbage!
Essence Eyeliner Pen Waterproof ~ $4.02 CAN. It is extremely long-lasting and offers great precision with a slim felt-tip applicator.
This was a good eyeliner - it's a felt tip pen and it worked really well. It was pigmented, applied well and lasted on the eyes! The actual product lasted a long time too! Plus, it's quite affordable. I think I like the Stila Stay All Day a little better, but this is a good alternative!
Repurchase: Maybe

December 2018 What I Bought - Monthly Haul!
I love these Haul posts; because, for me it's a way of sharing everything I pick up throughout a month - honestly, I buy so much stuff that if I don't share it here, it might not pop up until my empties post! Let me know if there is anything you want to see a full post on, just let me know and I will do it!)
Also, I do "try" to stick to a monthly budget of $100, and these posts are supposed to keep me in check! I can go a little crazy sometimes with new things though - why is there so much new makeup being released all the time?! I will only include products I have spent money on - gifts and freebies are usually shared on posts like my Five on Friday posts!
Here is a look at everything I bought in December:
ColourPop Haul ~ $23.21 CAN. I was very excited when ColourPop announced a day of free international shipping, so I had to pick up a Jelly Much shadow and a Glitterally Obsessed (which I thought was for eyes; but, it says body glitter...) Anyways, I will still use both of these soon!

Five on Friday - January 4, 2019
Happy Friday everyone - how exciting this is my first Five on Friday of 2019! I hope everyone had an amazing New Years however you chose to celebrate it - I personally celebrated around 10:00 p.m. and then went to bed!
ONE
I'm not one for New Year's Resolutions, but I do like goal setting and I thought it was important to start off with a few attainable goals for me and See The World in PINK:
-stick to my $100 a mont budget
-try new brands
-create a shop my stash at least once a month
-be more conscious about what I purchase, and don't give in to every hype
-maybe film a video (this one's a total stretch and I've said it before; but, I'm not sure I'm ready for the video world!)
It's interesting, this year I've seen a ton of youtubers do a no or a low buy year - I don't really consider trying to stay to an actual budget a low-buy for me, I just want to make sure I'm really thinking through what I purchase; because, I really want to make sure I'm enjoying and using the products I love in my collection and not having them get lost!
TWO
I'm starting off the year with a little bit of a new addition - a Monthly Makeup basket! Now, it's not very big; because, I'm maintaining my palette of the week so I'm rotating eyeshadows every week. It's more so to focus on using my face products - specifically blush and highlight that I very much tend to stick to 3 or 4 favorites!

It's more so to focus on using my face products - specifically blush and highlight that I very much tend to stick to 3 or 4 favorites!

Best of 2018 - Skincare, Haircare and Body Discoveries!
I'm back with another Best of 2018 post - I just shared my favorite makeup discoveries of 2018 yesterday! Staying on the same track as yesterday, these will be my favorite products that I have tried in 2018, so not all of them were released this year, it's just the best of what I've tried!
I will be honest and say that I didn't discover a ton of new skincare products this year and it's because my skin has been changing over the past year post-baby and not returning to birth control pills. My skin has moved from very dry to combination and I'm still settling in to the best products for me - here's to hoping that 2019 brings some solid skincare loves!

Best of 2018 - Makeup Discoveries!
I have loved a toooooon of makeup this year, so it was hard to pick my Favorites that I tried this year! I call this makeup discoveries, because this is just a list of the best of everything that I tried in 2018 (mostly new for 2018, but sometimes I'm late to the game).
I really did love so many products this year, so this is really the best of everything I've tried this year (so, if you look back at my Monthly Favorites or you saw me rave about another product - don't worry, I still love those too!)

Reflections of 2018
Happy New Years Everyone! I'm wishing you all the happiest of years this year! Before going in to a New Year, I love looking back at the highlights of my past year!
I'm super nostalgic and I love looking back a moments in time and remembering how it was and picturing myself back there (this is why I'm a big scrapbooker too!) But, I have so many great memories of 2018 and hope 2019 is just as amazing!
Family Vacation in LA & Anaheim, California
We were crazy enough to go to L.A. and Anaheim with the family with a 9 month old! We went with my mom, step-dad, brother, sister, brother-in-law and my brother's service dog, so we were quite the group travelling around!
