The 7 Worst Products I Tried in 2021 - Makeup & Nails

You should know by now that I really try and shy away from poor or negative reviews - I like to keep things positive around here, so I typically only share things I love! Now, that doesn't mean I will lie, if something isn't great I would never say it is, but I tend to keep my content to things I enjoy. 

But, I make an exception for the Worst Products of the year, because these aren't just a little bad or I didn't like them, these are all pretty terrible products that I could never recommend them! It's 2022, but do we still need disclaimers like, "just because I didn't like this single product, doesn't mean I don't love the brand" or, "please, don't be offended if one of these is your favourite products"? Because, yes all of that is true, and I think it should go without saying - a lot of these products are from brands that I like and have tried other things from and one product is not a reflection of the whole brand!

Alright, you might know by now that I'm a total sucker for packaging and for Disney makeup collabs, so naturally I just had to pick a couple of products from the Makeup Revolution's I Heart Revolution x Disney Fairytale Books collection!

But, like all fairytales, there has to be a dark part and these products are it - mind you, I only tried the highlighter and lip topper, but I would not recommend trying anything else in this line based on my experience with these products (and my experience overall with Makeup Revolution has been pretty up and down). 

Monthly Beauty Haul - February 2021

I always love these haul posts - it's a way to keep track of everything that I picked up every month. I don't always blog about everything I pick up (I try to), but if you ever spot anything in here that you really want me to talk about, let me know! 

Last year, I got a little crazy about trying to stick to a crazy budget and this year I'm just going to buy what I want and try and be reasonable about my purchases!

Auric Beauty Haul ~ $131.77 CAN. I was so excited when Samantha Ravndahl announced her brand and I loved her announcement video, so I was very excited to pick up one of the Glow Lusts and one Smoke Reflect shadow - I can't wait to use both of these! The cost I paid in Canadian includes both products, shipping and conversion with no duties on my order! I will be reviewing these as soon as I can try them!

It's no secret that my favourite part of makeup is eyeshadow palettes! I currently have 50 palettes in my collection and I've been really reasonable this year about adding palettes in my collection and playing and using the palettes that I do have in my collection.

Pride Rainbow Eyeshadow Look - August Shop My Stash

The Pride festivities are carrying on here in Calgary - they started on August 23 and go through September 2, with the big parade being on September 1, 2019! And, I'm hoping to be in the parade this year with a friend's work organization, so I was so excited to practice some rainbow eye makeup for Pride while shopping my stash!

I absolutely LOVE how this rainbow makeup turned out - I had always thought that big, fun, bright eye looks weren't exactly what I could pull off and this ended being easy to do and so so so fun to wear! I will be replicating this look on Pride Parade day!
