September 2017 - What I Bought This Month!

It's time for my monthly haul - I have really enjoyed seeing what I buy every month! I like that I get to share everything I have purchased (because really some of it would get lost in my beauty collection if I didn't!) Also these posts helps to keep me on track - I am planning on trying to only spend around $100 per month on beauty since I am be on a smaller budget with a new baby! 

I will only include products I have spent money on - gifts, pr samples, and freebies are usually shared on posts like my Five on Friday posts! 

Here is what I bought in September: 

Sephora Order ~ $39.90. Okay, there will be a lot of Sephora orders this month - this was actually my 3rd order in August, but it was at the very end of August and did not get here until early this month! I was very excited for the Too Faced Peaches and Cream collection but it weirdly released like a product a day leading up to the launch and since i'm Rouge and get free shipping, I didn't wait for them all to be released together! The first order, I had to try the Peach Blur powder and the rest are freebies! The Caudalie 3 set was my add on code and I love when they have makeup freebies, because these Dior lipsticks look awesome! Also scooped up some First Aid Beauty and a cleansing balm.

Wooo hoo - I won another giveaway! So exciting! I actually really love the eye masks from ToGoSpa! I have featured the Green Tea Eyes in some past favorites and have tried a few different kinds; but, I have not tried the charcoal eye masks or any face masks so I am looking forward to trying these! You can expect reviews coming! 

Mask Wednesday - [JOLSE] Hiddencos Americano & Latte Mask Review!

Happy Mask Wednesday! It's no secret that I'm a sucker for masks with adorable packaging, and these adorable coffee masks are no exception! These are so cute. 

These Hiddencos masks are so cute - I love that they look like little coffee travel mugs. They come in 2 different types: Latte and Americano! The Latte mask is meant for enhancing moisture and brightening skin, while the Americano mask is meant to give the skin nutrition and moisture! 

Manicure Tuesday - Essie Gel Couture Polish in "Sage You Love Me" First Impressions!

Happy Manicure Tuesday! A few months ago I would probably not wear gel nail polish because I just love doing nail art so much. But now, a few months post baby and I am all about some longer wearing nail polish options! 

Nail Polish Canada recently started carrying Essie's Gel Couture polish line and I jumped at the opportunity to try a couple of shades! If I am going to try any gel polishes, Essie was high on my list! 

Skincare Sunday - Last Blast of Summer Pedicure Set with FarleyCo

Who doesn't need their feet revived after a Summer of sandal wearing?! (Also, I'm a die hard flip flop wearer so I will wear them until there is snow on the ground here in Calgary)! But, that means my feet always take a bit of a beating! 

FarleyCo. has put together a little set of goodies to help treat my feet at the end of a long Summer on my feet in the sandals!

Happy Friday everyone!! I have to start by saying Sorry for the lack of posts this week - I still got a couple up, but not my regular nails or mask posts! It has been a long week - my husband has been working out of town for the week and it has been crazy being along with 2 boys to take care of!

Let's talk about my Friday Freebies today - these ones are good! Mac Cosmetics reopened today in one of Calgary's biggest malls and celebrated by giving away 200 lipsticks to the first people in the store! It worked out perfectly for me, it has been really cold all week and I haven't been getting out for as many walks so it was perfect time for a mall walk morning!

Then, I saw the Kiehl's was offering a few samples when you get a skincare consultation so I stopped in quickly! It was actually interesting because I know my skin has changed post baby and it confirmed that it is learning more oily so I will see how it does over the next few months but I am definitely trying to adapt my routine! 

September 2017 - Boxycharm Unboxing, Review, Swatches and Makeup Try-on!

Boxycharm is a beauty subscription box for $21.00 a month + $5.00 shipping to Canada (shipping is free to the U.S.) Boxycharm sends 4 to 5 full size and luxury size beauty items. 

This subscription focuses heavily on make-up items - so that is something to keep in mind! While it is a little pricier than the more inexpensive beauty boxes, the majority of the products are full size, with a deluxe sample every once in a while. 

Every subscriber generally receives the same products, but their is usually 1 or 2 items that have a few variations, so our boxes may not be identical!

So, when Tarte released their Unicorn Make Believe in Yourself collection in April in actually told myself that I didn't need it and was good... until now, because it's on sale!!! And, I can only resist something so much - sales i'm a total sucker for!!!

This palette is stunning! The packaging is gorgeous and the shadows included are so pretty! I'm surprised I waited so long to buy this! I love shimmer shadows on my lids and this has a really great range! The middle shade can be used a highlighter for under the brow or the cheeks. This comes with 9 shimmer shadows and 1 matte. 

Manicure Monday - Best Recent Nail Art Looks!

Happy Manicure Monday everyone! So, I told myself that when I had a baby, I was always going to have girl time and paint my nails every week; but, finally this week I am going to eat my words! Little Elliott is teething so much and despite all the little teething toys, his favorite thing to chew on? Mommy's hand! So, I just can't put any fresh polish on these babies this week! I'm hoping by next week things improve and I can go back to normal! 

Since I haven't done a favorites post in a few months, I thought I would recap some of latest favorite nail art!

Storybook Cosmetics Witchcraft and Wizardry Palette - Swatches, Review and 4 Back to Hogwarts Looks!

I'm a pretty devoted Harry Potter fan - that's no secret! So, when Storybook Cosmetics announced that they were releasing a Witchcraft and Wizardry eyeshadow palette I had to get it!

This palette was originally was supposed to be a Harry Potter themed palette; but, I don't think Storybook Cosmetics got the licensing agreement so it turned in to a whole magical wizard palette. I think the colors all stayed the same, but the names were changed!

Manicure Monday - Peachy Glitter Nails

I have clearly jumped on the peach bandwagon - literally, everything peachy I get it! So, naturally I have got to get some Peach nails in right! 

This look is quite simple, with just a couple glitter accent nails - I LOVE the peach color! 

Skincare Sunday - NEW Lush Jelly Face Mask "Bunny Moon" Try-on and Review!

Okay, what's better than a NEW type of mask from Lush?! It's no secret around here that I am mask addict and a total Lushie, so when I saw Lush announce their new Jelly Face Masks - I had to run out and get one! I took a lot of self-control to not pick up all 4 right away! 

Lush Jelly Face Mask "Bunny Moon" ~ $13.95 CAN. Everybunny's a bit sensitive now and then, so if your skin's feeling a bit tender or sore, treat it to this gentle, gold-dusted mask. These Jelly Masks are so cool! If you have tried Lush's shower jellies, then this will be a similar texture to you, just a little creamier and thicker! Happy Friday everyone! I hope you had a great week! My week was great - pretty quiet, but good!

I am so sad about what is happening in the Caribbean - the hurricanes are completely devastating many of the islands! Two years ago this month we honeymooned on Turks and Caicos and spent 2 weeks on 3 different islands and it holds a special little place in my heart! There is some serious storms happening all over the place and it's really hard too see. I know I will be donating to relief efforts - we need to do what we can!

Happy Mask Day! I love crazy masks, so I am so excited to try the TIAM Sebum Drying Black Bubble Pack!

TIA'M Sebum Drying Black Bubble Pack ~ $20.59 US for 80ml on Jolse. This is a wash-off pack that transforms into tiny bubbles on the face to remove sebum and blackhead, tightening your pores for glowing and healthy looking skin.

This mask uses charcoal to clear out blemishes, clean out the pores and adjust oil, and also albumin from egg whites help to tighten the pores. I love that this is a bubble mask - Korean beauty products started this trend, and so many companies are jumping on board and creating their own version.

Manicure Wednesday - Unicorn Nail Art!

On Wednesdays we wear pink! Pink Unicorn nails that is! 🦄

I have been wanting to try a unicorn horn for forever! Finally got some time, so I thought I would pair it with an adorable little unicorn (or 2!) And I'm so happy with how they turned out!

Mall Haul ~ $19.30. I love when I go shopping and get some freebies in there too! I only spent $0.50 at The Face Shop - these 2 masks together were $10, but I had some points from my loyalty card so I got $10 for free and only had to pay the tax! Then, I went to Lush and bought a Sleepy lotion and Scrubee and got my Oatifix for free (for returning 5 empty black pots).

Skincare Sunday - Lush Scrubee Review!

Is it a body butter? Is it a scrub? Is it possible that it is both?!

Lush Scrubee Body Butter ~ $7.95. This happy little bee looks innocent enough, but it means business when it comes to buffing your skin smooth. We've combined scrubby ground almonds and coconut shell with softening honey, cocoa and shea butter in alternating exfoliating and moisturizing stripes for the smoothest skin. Save the Scrubees!

So, can this be both a body butter and a scrub at the same time? The answer is yes and it is amazing! Scrubee smells amazing - like sweet honey! I love it! Also, how stinkin cute is little Scrubee?! I love it!

August 2017 - Month in Masks & Mask Empties!

Masking is a huge part (and probably my favorite part) of my skincare routine! I try to use all types of masks as often as possible as I find they really help moisturize and improve my skin!

Too Cool For School Coconut Ceramide Mask ~ $8.00. A sheer and lightweight sheet mask drenched in coconut water for instant and refreshing hydration.

This mask smelled like coconuts and I loved it - it was so refreshing and smelled just like Summer. This fit really well, had a good amount of essence, and worked well! Happy Friday everyone! Can you believe it is September 1 today?! The Summer just flew by! Anyone running to Starbucks today to get their Pumpkin Spice latte today? I'm waiting until the first day of Fall!

Yay - I won a giveaway! How cute is this little starter set from Velour Lashes! It included the Momma Knows Best lash set, the Too Easy Lash Applicator, and a Lash Adhesive!

I can now declare August my month of lashes - I got lashes in PR, lashes in this giveaway, and lashes in a subscription box! I am excited to have so many different types lashes to use!
