March 2017 - What I Bought This Month!
Maybe the start of this month's haul post should be, "Hello, my name is Renee and I am a beauty-shopaholic!" Whoops!!!
I love seeing people's monthly hauls or shopping lists and I wanted to join in at the start of 2017 for 2 reasons:
1. I don't always share everything that I'm purchasing and some of it gets lost and doesn't pop up here until my empties time, which could be a long ways away! It's a great way to keep track of what I'm buying and show you guys what's coming up!
2. Also, while I'm not planning a no-buy or anything, I think this will help keep me in check with my beauty spending this year! When the baby comes in May, my plan is to only spend about $100 per month on beauty products, including subscriptions!
I will only include products I have spent money on - gifts, pr samples, and freebies are usually shared on posts like my Five on Friday posts!
Sephora Order ~ $64.05. I had to put in an order at the start of March because I was so excited that Milk Makeup was coming to Canada!! I ordered the Holographic Stick (hello - Unicorn highlights!!! I will be reviewing this for you guys soon!) Also, had to pick up some brush cleaner and I wanted to try out a new Sephora Collection skincare product - Micellar Cleansing Milk (sounds so interesting! I will likely review it eventually!) The Clinique goodies were all my bonus code add-on, and the other 3 were my samples!

Spring Cleaning & Decluttering - Skincare Purge, Tosses, and Empties!
So lately, I have walked in to my office (wear I keep all my makeup/skincare/etc) and have been feeling quite overwhelmed - my organization system has just not been working! This past week I finally got a cute little dresser and filled it with bins so I can organize my skincare a bit better! It will keep everything new, unopened and in my queue - and everything in use is nicely organized in my bathroom!
But, while that all took place I realized that I have a TON of stuff - I went crazy about 2 years ago and opened and used everything I owned, which means I had a crazy amount of half or near done products that are now done!
So, since they are close to empties and I love some and hate some, I thought I would share my purged products with you guys! (I hope you are ok with these types of posts because I plan or doing this with makeup, hair, and nail goodies soon too!)
DewyTree Aqua Collagen Peptide Sleeping Mask ~ $26.08. Soothe stressed skin and turns rough skin into dewy and bright skin.
I opened this almost 2 years ago and have used it for a bit - it just got pushed aside for some much better sleeping masks! So... it just wasn't great...
Repurchase: Nah...

Manicure Monday - Negative Space Manicure with Nail Hugs Appliques (with a quick review!)
Happy Manicure Monday everyone - I'm just sneaking this post in on time, but I actually got my nails done today (being off work has some benefits to it!)
This week I'm kind of doubling up on nail trends - negative space manicure and mauve-y grey! I actually love how they turned out - I wasn't sure how the negative space would look on my nail shape, but I think it has a great balance!

Estee Lauder - The Smoother Universal Perfecting Primer
Who isn't constantly on the hunt for the perfect primer for a flawless makeup application?! I still struggle to find a primer that I love for my skin, so I am excited to see if the new Estee Lauder "The Smoother" Universal Perfecting Primer lives up to it's name!
Estee Lauder The Smoother Universal Perfecting Primer ~ $44.00. Prep your skin for the ultimate makeup application. Infused with skin-softening apricot essence, this lightweight primer optically perfects skin, diffusing the look of pores and imperfections. Leaves skin with a smooth, even texture.
This is a new primer from Estee Lauder and it is meant to reduce the look of pores while prepping your face for makeup application.

Mask Wednesday - Laneige Water Bank Soothing Gel Mask
Happy Mask Wednesday everyone - I have been eyeing this Laneige Water Bank Soothing Gel Mask for a little while and my skin has been craving a hydrogel mask, so I HAD to buy it!
Laneige Water Bank Soothing Gel Mask ~ $9.00 per mask (or 5 for $31.00). A cooling and moisturizing hydrogel sheet mask that adheres perfectly to the skin's contours for intense hydration.
I really like some of Laneige other products - especially their lotions and other products from the Water Bank line, so it was natural for me to give more products from this brand a shot!

Manicure Tuesday - Mani/Pedi at Esme Beauty & Floral Bar
Happy Manicure Tuesday - today was my second day officially being off work pre-baby so I decided to treat myself to a Mani & Pedi to celebrate the occasion!
I went to Esme Beauty & Floral Bar - this is an adorable little house turned spa on 17th Ave in Calgary! I have been following them on Instagram for a while and have been waiting to pay them a visit!
The best part of visiting Esme on a Tuesday - during March on Tuesdays they have a buy on service, get on free! So today, I got my Manicure for free! And, they offer daily deals all the time - think, $25 Manicure Mondays, etc!

Skincare Sunday - Lifance Natural Skin Care Body Products Review!
Who doesn't love supporting local businesses?! I love nothing more than finding great companies with amazing products that are local! I encountered Lifance Skin Care last year at the Calgary Woman's Show and was instantly in love with how beautiful their products were (hello - cake and cupcake soaps, I was sold!)
I was excited to get the opportunity to review a few of their products to let you guys know about this company! I will actually be reviewing some body products this week and next Sunday, I will be featuring some face skin care products as well!
Lifance Skin Care is handmade right here in Alberta and they are dedicated to making pure, concentrated, natural skin care products. They focus on using quality concentrated ingredients that will have the highest impact on the skin - for example, peptides, marine collagen, caviar oil, cucumber, raspberry, hyaluronic acid, etc! The products are all preserved naturally and are chemical free. Because these are preserved naturally, they do need to be used within 3-6 months of opening, and have a shelf life of 12 months unopened.

Five on Friday - March 17, 2017
Happy Friday everyone! This week has flown by for me (I took a couple of days off of work and we did lots of baby shopping which was a great idea!) Also, thankfully it has warmed up and is starting to feel like Spring is just around the corner!
Also, Happy St. Patrick's Day - hopefully you go enjoy some green beers this evening (have an extra for me!)
ONE
It's been so long since I have gotten the Scratch Monthly Mani Kit (actually almost 1 year), and since then every month nail artist, NinaNailedIt designs an exclusive set of nail wraps! I have been trying to work my way through my nail collection so I haven't been tempted to sign up in a while! But, I absolutely loved the spoilers for the March Mani Kit and had to grab it!

Makeup Multisticks - Highlight and Contour with THE FACE SHOP
As much as I love makeup, I have to say I just haven't gotten in to the whole contour craze yet (maybe I'm a little intimidated that I will end up looking dirty or weird if I do it wrong!)
But, The Face Shop recently released some new multi-stick highlight and contour products that are supposed to be really easy to use, so I thought I would give it a shot!
Both products can be used under and over foundation depending on how bold or natural you want to go!

Mask Wednesday - L'Herboflore Party Sweetheart: Sweety Black Tea Balancing Mask
Happy Mask Wednesday! Taiwanese beauty is slowly becoming more popular in Canada - and I have featured a few t-beauty masks before!
One of the most recognizable brands is L'Herboflore - their mission is to offer high quality skincare at affordable prices! They work meticulously to make sure every detail including packaging, material and ingredients are the highest quality! Their mask material is thinner and provides a better fit in order to allow the best absorption of ingredients!
L'Herboflore Party Sweetheart: Sweety Black Tea Balancing Mask ~$3.00. A skin-balancing sheet mask formulated with Horse Chestnut and White Willow extracts to purify the skin and restore the oil-water balance in the skin. Formulated with Black Tea extract and Yeast extract, the sheet mask helps rejuvenate dull skin for a brighter complexion! Perfect for combination and oily skin types.
I actually just heard about how amazing the ingredient Horse Chestnut is for the skin, so I am excited to try this!

Glittery Green Manicure Tuesday - "Jack The Lad" Butter London polish
Happy Manicure Tuesday! I have to say, I'm loving that super glittery and holographic polishes are trendy right now because doing my nails on Tuesday doesn't give me a ton of time right now (damn baby classes taking over my regular Monday night time!)
This week is St. Patrick's Day so I had to go with a green theme - so I went with super glittery green!
This is Butter London "Jack The Lad" and it is described as: opaque moss green shimmer nail lacquer with gold, turquoise and green micro-glitter.

March 2017 - Boxycharm Unboxing and Review
Boxycharm is a beauty subscription box for $21.00 a month + $5.00 shipping to Canada (shipping is free to the U.S.) Boxycharm sends 4 to 5 full size and luxury size beauty items.
This subscription focuses heavily on make-up items - so that is something to keep in mind! (I personally love all the makeup though and they have sent full size palettes in the past!) While it is a little pricier than the inexpensive beauty boxes, the majority of the products are full size!
Every subscriber generally receives the same products, but their is usually 1 or 2 items that have a few variations, so our boxes may not be identical!
Here is a look at my March Boxycharm:
This month's theme is "Creepy Cute" (which is a little bit of a weird theme if you ask me!) Boxycharm always includes a detailed product card explaining the items that were included in each month's subscription.

Skincare Sunday - Skoah Fitskin Facial at Skoah Kensington Calgary!
Did you know that I have never been for a facial before?! I mean, I have been to the spa quite a few times for treatments, but I just do all my skincare treats at home!
Clearly I enjoyed my first experience - this is my post-facial glow (also, keep in mind i'm bundled like crazy because it happened to be -25 degrees in Calgary that afternoon!)
I was very thrilled and honoured when Skoah here in Kensington, Calgary reached out to me to come in for a Fitskin Facial and review my experience! I have seen and heard of Skoah, but I haven't tried their products before so I came in with a fresh, open mind!

Five on Friday - March 10, 2017
Happy Friday everyone! This week has felt so long - it is crazy cold here this week in Calgary and it just makes it hard to be motivated to do anything! I heard it's supposed to warm up this weekend and next week, so fingers crossed!
ONE
So, I finally put in a Sephora order (it's been since December, so that's pretty impressive guys!) - I had to order this highlighter from Milk makeup and am so excited to try it! Also, I really wanted to try this Sephora Rose Cleansing Milk - these are newer products so I really want to test and review them! The Clinique goodies were an add-on!

Manicure Tuesday - Stone Marble Nail Art!
Happy Manicure Tuesday - my weekly manis may be pushed back to Tuesdays for a few weeks because I started baby classes on Monday nights now!
But, I have been dying to try Stone Marble Nail Art for weeks now - I love the way it looks!
I am pretty happy with how this nail art turned out - I could have used a little skinnier of a brush, but I still think it looks pretty, just a little different than I planning!

Peach is all over the makeup world this Spring! I'm not complaining - in fact, I am loving all the peach goodies! It is a flattering shade on most skin types and it's so versatile!
ColourPop usually sells single eyeshadows; however, sometimes they release a 4 pack of themed shadows!

February 2017 - Monthly Favorites!
Here is a look at what I have been loving in February:
The Face Shop Mascream Sheet Masks ~ $5.00 each. First mask sheet with cream that feels like applying a whole jar of cream.
These Mascream masks come in a wide range - snail, brightening, firming, nourishing, etc - and seriously, they are amazing! The creamy essence makes using them a really different experience than a regular sheet mask! I reviewed a firming sheet mask here, and you can check it out if you are interested!

February 2017 - What I Bought This Month!
Hi everyone - time to share my monthly purchases with you! I hope you like this little round up - it is a great way for me to showcase what I have purchased (as I don't always post about everything!) Plus, I think it might help keep my spending in check!
I will only include products I have spent money on - gifts, pr samples, and freebies are always shared on posts like my Five on Friday posts!
Lush Haul ~ $23.99. I had to pick up some adorable Valentine's Day goodies from Lush this month - I was pretty reasonable and only picked up 4 goodies! The Lovestruck Bubble Bar was $8.65, the Lover Lamp Bath Bomb was $8.95, the Cupid Bath Bomb is $5.25 and the Brazened Honey Fresh Face Mask was free! (because I brought back 5 empty containers - it is regular $8.95). I love stocking up on Lush goodies!

Five on Friday - March 3, 2017
Happy Friday everyone! Hope you have had a great week! Can you believe it is March already?! I feel like time is flying by already this year!
ONE
I just picked up my free Baby Box yesterday from The Baby Box Co. and Baby Box University - this is a campaign to educate parents on sleep safety for babies! This is a huge box and actually has a mattress and fitted sheet in the bottom. It also came with diapers, wipes, baby shampoo, a onesie, a library card, and coupons! This was so cute - if you are a new or expecting mom follow the website and see if there is a free distribution in your city!

ColourPop Cosmetics - Last Call for Cat Nap and Puppy Love Super Shock Eyeshadows!
It's no secret, here at See The World in PINK that I'm a big fan of ColourPop Cosmetics!
Late last year, ColourPop partnered with Best Friends Animal Society and released 2 super shock eyeshadows with all proceeds going to NKLA (No Kill LA) - an effort to end animal homelessness and rid the city of unnecessary killings to save all the animals in Los Angeles!
Those 2 shadows are Puppy Love and Cat Nap!
Both Puppy Love and Cat Nap are $5 a piece, but are only available until March 3 and then they will be discontinued!

Mask Wednesday - TONYMOLY I'm Real Mask Sheet "Seaweed"
Ahhh... a Mask Wednesday to start out the month of March - perhaps this will motivate me to mask more this month?! Hopefully!
TONYMOLY I'm Real Mask Sheet - Seaweed ~ $1.99 US. Purifying sheet mask. Contains seaweed. Makes dull skin bright and radiant.
Tony Moly is known for their adorable k-beauty products and packaging - I haven't actually tried very many of their sheets masks yet! As k-beauty is becoming more mainstream, we are getting more products like Tony Moly at Western stores (I have seen this brand at Urban Outfitters and The Bay!)

Time for another look in to another month of my beauty garbage!
Mini Pet Hand Cream ~ $10.00 for a set of 3. Perfect for stocking stuffers! You will absolutely love these cutest mini hand creams and the smell!
This hand lotion is adorable - right?! I wish it smelled that good, but it was overwhelming floral that it is was horrible to use... but I did it anyway...
Repurchase: No... way to smelly...
