Five on Friday - August 6, 2021 ~ Monthly Makeup Baskets, New Van, Scratch Monthly Mani Kit, and Costco Finds

Happy Friday everyone! Hope you all have a great week - I have been in Fairmont for a family vacation all week so it has been nice and relaxing!

I have been keeping up my Monthly Makeup Baskets throughout this pandemic; but, I am finding it a little hard to use everything in a single month as I am wearing masks all the time. So, for now, I am going to do bi-monthly baskets just so I can get a little more use out of the products that I'm using!

Five on Friday - June 4, 2021 ~ Monthly Makeup Basket, The Nature of Witches Book Review, Rollerblading and Declutter!

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all had a great week - it was so crazy hot in Calgary this week, and it was so warm and beautiful!

Five on Saturday - April 4, 2020

Happy Saturday everyone! I hope you all had a great week - I'm finding these week's lately are a little long; but, I think that will be the new norm for the foreseeable future!

I'm keeping up my Monthly Makeup Baskets for 2020 because I really enjoyed that they helped me shop my stash and allowed me to use and love everything in my collection! I always like to remember the older products and not let them get pushed aside when I get something shiny and new!

Five on Friday - March 6, 2020

Happy Friday everyone and Happy March!!! Okay, while January dragged on forever, February just flew by! I always love March because it means the end of Winter is coming (although in Calgary, Spring in snowy season for a few more months), but I'm looking forward to some warmer weather!

ONE

I still think I'm playing a little catch-up this week - I had the worst cold last week and all of last weekend. It totally wiped me out and I couldn't do anything! I actually felt really rough at the start of this week too. I couldn't even do anything fun for the extra Leap Year day we had! But, I'm finally feeling better now!

December 2019 Empties & Month in Masks

Here's a look at my beauty garbage from December!

December 2019 Empties & Month in Masks
Some products may have been received in PR - this post contains affiliate links

Morphe Highlight & Contour Beauty Sponge ~ $10.00 CAN. A latex-free makeup sponge perfect for applying liquid and powder formulations.

This sponge was really hyped up when I first picked it up - this is just too stiff for me in terms of a sponge. I do really like the flat edge, but this just didn't work for me. When I picked up a beauty blender again, it was a relief. This didn't apply my makeup well at all.

Halloween Look - Lady Stoneheart from Game of Thrones

Early this year when Game of Thrones sadly came to an end, we went to a costume party and I dressed up as my favourite character - Lady Stoneheart!

For those of you that are only TV show lovers and didn't quite get in to the book series (that is ginormous and still unfinished), then you would have sadly missed out on one of the best characters in the series! I truly think she should have been in the T.V. series as she was pretty bad-ass and I was sad when they didn't put her in at all!

September Shop My Stash - Full Face of Drugstore Fall Glam Makeup

I'm actually really excited about this month's Shop My Stash Makeup post - I bringing a full face of Fall glam makeup using all Drugstore products!

I've said it before, I'm actually fairly new to trying drugstore products - a few years ago I was pretty solidly only a Sephora shopper and over the last few years blogging, it's really opened my eyes to how good drugstore makeup is now!

August 2019 - Monthly Empties

Time for a look at my August Beauty Empties:

Revlon ColorStay Full Cover Foundation in 150 Buff ~ $20.99 CAN. Revlon ColorStay Full Cover Foundation provides an amazing, full coverage perfected look that lasts all day long.

I fell in love pretty instantly with this foundation - it made my March Favourites and you can see a full look at this product on me here! It's a very neat texture - it almost feels whipped, or as Revlon refers to it as velvet. It applies really softly and nicely; but, dries down nicely and doesn't stay tacky at all and it wears all day - well around 10 hours without breaking up on my combo skin! I have noticed it can disappear from the nose a touch, so I'm careful with my powder; but, I loved the coverage of this. I really like this foundation!

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you've all had a great week! It's been a good week; but, we are getting ready for a family trip to the cabin in Fairmont!

Time for a check in on my Summer Project Pan! I decided to do a little project pan where I try to pan or use up 4 products in the 4 months of Summer (also, I'm a bit of an idiot and forgot in actually Summer lasts 3 months, but I was thinking literally in June, July, August, and September - so whoops, it too late to change now!) If you want to see the start of this project pan, you can see it here

July Shop My Stash - My Light, Quick Summer Makeup Look

While I'm a total makeup addict and I generally wear a full face of makeup, I do like to lighten things up for the Summer and try and go with lighter base products and an overall lighter look!

So for my July Shop My Stash, I thought I'd share just that easy Summer look - these products are nice and light; but, they can still be out worn on a hot day and will stay put (with the assistance of a solid setting spray!)

Five on Friday - June 28, 2019

Happy Friday everyone! Hope you all had a great week - it's been a little crazy here; but, I'm off on holidays now until July 11th! Yay! We are off to Edmonton right now for a long weekend basketball tournament; then, we come home for one day and are off to B.C. for a week!

This month our Canadian Beauty Blogger's theme is Floral and the theme inspired my May Shop My Stash makeup post!

I'm loving the "May Flowers" idea and I decided to try something new and went with this flower eyeliner makeup look! I used white, light purple, and dark purple eyeliners to create this fun eye look - I love how it turned out!

Burt's Bees Liquid Lipsticks

Burt's Bees is such a great brand to talk about during Earth month - they are natural, non-synthetic products made without parabens, phthalates, sls, talc or synthetic fragrances!

Burt's Bees Liquid Lipsticks
These products were provided for free from Topbox circle - this post contains affiliate links

The beauty line is described as "a full line of natural cosmetics that work because of how they’re made, not in spite of it." Last year I had the opportunity to try almost a full face of Burt's Bees makeup and I really enjoyed the products I've tried - especially the blush!

April Shop My Stash - Green & Blue Earth Month Month Look

This month's Shop My Stash Makeup Look was all about Earth Month and I went with a Green and Blue eye look! I also tried to use some Earth Friendly products when available!

Yesterday, April 22 was Earth Day and all month I've been sharing some more Earth friendly products when I can! It's also our CBB theme of the month, so I thought why not use the greens and blues of our beautiful planet as my inspiration for this month's makeup look!

February 2019 - Monthly Empties & Month in Masks

Let's take a look at my beauty garbage:

February 2019 - Monthly Empties & Month in Masks

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation in 2C3 Fresco ~ $50.00 CAN. A 24-hour liquid foundation with a flawless, natural, matte finish that unifies uneven skin tone and covers imperfections with buildable coverage.

I love this foundation - the wear is just fantastic. It is full coverage; but, doesn't feel heavy on the skin and wears all day. When I was running low on this, I started saving it for days where I had something to do or I just needed to know my base makeup would be reliable. This is so good; it made even made my favorites back in July 2017! This shade turned out to be a little too dark for me and it does oxidize a tiny bit, so when I repurchase, I just need to go a little lighter!

February Shop My Stash - Valentine's Day Pink Cut Crease with Glitter Accent

This month's Shop My Stash post is coming just in time for Valentine's Day and it's my inspiration for this look! I wanted to go with a pink date night look!

Valentine's Day Pink Cut Crease with Glitter Accent

I wanted to try play with new techniques and I'm just getting in to cut crease looks, so I wanted to make it pink and add a little fun!

January 2019 Monthly Empties & Month in Masks

Time to dig in to my beauty garbage:

January 2019 Monthly Empties

Wander Beauty Unlashed Volume and Curl Mascara ~ $29.00 CAN. An intensely glossy black mascara that volumizes, lengthens, and curls.

This mascara was pretty good - it lengthened, curled and added volume; but, it didn't add as much volume as I prefer for my lashes (which is really an excessive amount of volume). So it is a pretty mascara - you can see it on me in a look here!)

Best of 2018 - Makeup Discoveries!

I have loved a toooooon of makeup this year, so it was hard to pick my Favorites that I tried this year! I call this makeup discoveries, because this is just a list of the best of everything that I tried in 2018 (mostly new for 2018, but sometimes I'm late to the game).

Best of 2018 - Makeup Discoveries!

I really did love so many products this year, so this is really the best of everything I've tried this year (so, if you look back at my Monthly Favorites or you saw me rave about another product - don't worry, I still love those too!)

November 2018 - Empties and Month in Masks!

Time to look at my beauty garbage!

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask ~ mini size shown here (full size is $24.00 CAN). A leave-on lip mask that soothes and moisturizes for smoother, more supple lips overnight.

When I got this at first, I wasn't sure what the hype was about - it just worked like a lip balm overnight. Wrong - I tried to use a normal lip balm overnight again like I used to, and when I woke up half way through the night, I noticed how dry my lips were. This lip mask actually hydrates the lips all night and they are soft in the morning - plus, it just feels like a soft lip balm formula when it applies! I think the full size has a spatula with it, and that is my only complaint with the mini - I hate dipping my finger in a pot. It made my favorites in June of this year!
