November 2018 - Empties and Month in Masks!

Time to look at my beauty garbage!

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask ~ mini size shown here (full size is $24.00 CAN). A leave-on lip mask that soothes and moisturizes for smoother, more supple lips overnight.

When I got this at first, I wasn't sure what the hype was about - it just worked like a lip balm overnight. Wrong - I tried to use a normal lip balm overnight again like I used to, and when I woke up half way through the night, I noticed how dry my lips were. This lip mask actually hydrates the lips all night and they are soft in the morning - plus, it just feels like a soft lip balm formula when it applies! I think the full size has a spatula with it, and that is my only complaint with the mini - I hate dipping my finger in a pot. It made my favorites in June of this year!

Repurchase: Yes

Burt's Bees Nourishing Mascara in "Classic Black" ~ $13.99 CAN. Our 100% Natural Nourishing Mascara lengthens and defines lashes.

I actually liked this formula - it added length and definition without clumping lashes at all! It did flake or smudge - it wasn't too wet or too dry of a formula and it looked really nice on the lashes! I prefer a little bit of a fuller look most days; but, this worked well. If you want to see it on, you can see my full face of Burt's Bees makeup here

Repurchase: Maybe

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara ~ mini size here (full size is $31.00 CAN). An intensely black, volumizing mascara with an hourglass-shaped brush that separates, coats, and curls each lash to voluptuous perfection.

This mascara always feels like an old classic. I loved using this - it just gives so much volume and fullness to the lashes! I love the really full, fluffy and thick look it gives - pretty much everything I look for in a mascara!
Repurchase Yes!

L'oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara Waterproof ~ $13.99 CAN. Soft wavy bristle brush holds maximum formula for a dramatic volumizing charge. 200+ bristles catch every lash for a full fringe effect.

I love the original Lash Paradise mascara - it's basically the high end version of the Too Faced Better Than sex. The waterproof formula is good - not the best; but, I personally don't really like any waterproof mascaras (I bought if for a beach vacation/wedding earlier this year). It was fine on my lashes, a little clumpy; but, it was so hard to remove
Repurchase: not likely

Benefit Cosmetics - BADgal BANG! Volumizing Mascara ~ mini size (full size is $32.00 CAN). A 36-hour, full-blast, volumizing mascara that layers easily to build massive volume without weighing down lashes.

This made my lashes look okay. It was a little to pokey and spidery on my lashes for my liking overall. While I could make it work on my lashes; but, my biggest complaint is that this mascara tranfers on me! Every time I wore this I mad mascara on my eyelids up top where my lshes touch under my brows. It was not good for me!
Repurchase: No!

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer ~ $35.00 CAN. An innovative, high-coverage concealer that provides buildable, weightless coverage and leaves an invisible, naked-skin finish.

I loooove this concealer - it is easily called my Holy Grail concealer. Nothing else works as well - it's actually been my favorite since July 2015. I have tried quite a few concealers and nothing compares to it! I can't say too much more then this is the best concealer ever! It just offers good coverage without being thick or goopy - it's super lightweight.
Repurchase: Yes, already have!

Mini Cosmetic Sponge ~ $?

This mini sponge came in a set of 3. I liked the idea of this sponge much more that I liked using the actual product. The sponge was just too small to hold on to and it made it really hard to actually use.
Repurchase: No

Bobbi Brown Instant Full Cover Concealer ~ sample size (full size is $38.00 CAN). A concentrated, highly pigmented concealer that visibly brightens stubborn under-eye darkness and softens hollows and tired lines in an instant.

I'm not a huge fan of concealer formulas that are tacky or sticky. This wasn't too bad and it did go on a little sticky; but, it did offer good coverage and look nice under the eyes.
Repurchase: Probably not

Pixi Beauty Glow Tonic ~ $20.00 CAN. Get the famous PixiGlow! This bestselling cult favourite toner gently accelerates cell renewal to reveal a brighter, glowing complexion.

It took me a while to fully get on board with this toner and now I love it - it made my Monthly Favorites in February. This toner is made with 5% glycolic acid and is really meant to brighten, exfoliate and smooth the skin! I usually use it every other night and it was super effective at brightening and clearing up texture on my skin!

Repurchase: Yes, I need to right away!

EcoTools Facial Mask Mates ~ $10.99 CAN. The EcoTools Facial Mask Mates set is specially designed for an at home spa facial experience. This set includes a Mask Applicator Brush + 3 Mask Remover Sponges. Three reuseable Mask Remover Sponges, made from natural plant pulp, help to remove excess product while gently exfoliating the skin for a smoother, more radiant appearance.

This is a sponge to specifically remove a wash off mask - it adds a little exfoliation to the skin as you wash the mask off. But, the sponge itself is quite hard to wash after. I used this a couple of times and then I need a new one. But the set it comes in does come with 3 of them. If you want to see a full review, you can see my thoughts on the set here

Lush Eau Roma Water ~ $10.95 for 100 ml. Rose water cools irritations and keeps redness at bay, while lavender helps to balance out the skin's oils, leaving it feeling soft and supple. Eau Roma is simple, effective skincare at its best!

My skin really loves rose products - and this made my Favorites in May. My skin really loved this; but, I think maybe after the Summer it passed it's expiry date and was a little less effective, so I would watch the expiry if you use it!

Repurchase: Likely

Tony Moly Panda's Dream White Magic Cream ~ $21.44 CAN. Packaged in an adorable panda shell, the Panda's Dream White Magic Cream from TonyMoly is a facial moisturizer infused with bamboo extracts and niacinamide to hydrate and brighten.

I've used this full size before; but, it's not kidding when it says "white cream". It's actually hard to absorb in the skin and is really white - it will leave a white cast on the skin.
Repurchase: No

Skoak Dewlux Face Kream lite 30 ~ sample shown ($75.00 CAN for full size). A dewy face cream with highly refined olive oil, shea butter, and vitamin E for deep hydration.

I have a hard time believing this is a light verson of a formula - it makes my skin quite greasy. But damn, I wish this worked for me because it smells like Bubblelicious gum! It just left a shiny cast on my skin.
Repurchase: No

Graydon The Green Cream ~ sample shown - $38.00 CAN for full size. Infused with broccoli, avocado, coconut, olive, aloe and fresh herbs this light feeling lotion like cream is like a salad for your skin.

I really liked this lotion - it smells a little vegetably; but, it different and fun. I found the formula really gentle and effective on my skin. It wasn't heavy on my skin and wore so well every day!
Repurchase: Yes, I would consider it!

May Lindstrom - The Blue Cocoon Beauty Balm Concentrate ~ sample shown (full size is $240.00 CAN). Its calming benefits are derived from blue tansy, a tall, flowering plant belonging to the Asteraceae family.  Another significant ingredient found in the Blue Cocoon is camellia oil, a powerful antioxidant, astringent and anti-inflammatory.

This is a crazy expensive face product - it's basically a balm that melts in to the skin. Using this is an experience - you start by melting it, inhaling the scent and applying to the face. This balm is insane how well this works to calm and settle the skin - it's unreal! It made my favorites in April and seriously does it ever work to clear and calm the skin!
Repurchase: I want to!

Graydon Berry Rich All Over Face Cream ~ sample shown (full size is $38.00 CAN). As its name would suggest, this cream is rich in texture and loaded with the goodness of Canadian grown organic berry seed oils.

Another great Graydon moisturizer! This was a thicker moisturizer, so with my combo skin I use it as a night moisturizer. It's still very gentle on the face and is so hydrating! If you have drier skin, you may be able to use this during the day. It has a really light scent too. I'm quickly becoming a huge fn of Graydon skincare!
Repurchase: Maybe

Victoria's Secret Fragrance Mist in Love Spell ~ $18.00 US. Cherry Blossom. Fresh Peach. Impossible to resist.

I've had this body spray for much longer than I'd like to admit! But, this has been one of my favorite scents for the longest time. I've been using it for much longer than Victoria Secret has been in Canada, as a friend used to get her mom to pick it up in the states and we would all use it (back in high school). It's a very nostalgic scent for me!
Repurchase: Maybe, I do like this scent!

Lush Happy Hippy Shower Gel ~ $10.95 CAN. Packed full of fresh grapefruit juice and zesty grapefruit and bergamot oils, this citrusy gel revitalizes both skin and mind to make you look and feel refreshed.

I love the Lush shower gels - they are super soft and good to use. I also love the scent of this one - it was very refreshing and smelled like grapefruits! Yum!
Repurchase: Probably

Bath and Body Works Deep Cleansing Hand Soap in Peach Bellini ~ $6.50. A delicious twist of juicy peach, white apricot & fresh mango.

Hand soap isn't anything crazy - but this is one of my favorite soap scents. I love the peach scent.
Repurchase: Likely

Phillip Adam Apple Cider Vinegar Shampoo ~ $15.99 CAN full size (travel size shown). Our all-natural based shampoo balances the ph level of your scalp, keeps it healthy over time and makes your hair squeaky clean and shiny.

Phillip Adam Apple Cider Vinegar Conditioner ~ $15.99 CAN full size (travel size shown). It has a fresh apple scent, controls static electricity in the hair, maintains the ph balance, and gently detangles, making it an excellent product for fine to normal hair types.

I just posted a review of this shampoo and conditioner - you can see it here. This is a new brand to me and they are are Canadian, natural, vegan and gluten-free. I enjoyed both the shampoo and conditioner - I thought they worked well for my hair. Also, smells delicious!
Repurchase: Maybe

Matrix Total Results Shampoo ~ sample & Matrix Total Results Conditioner ~ sample.

I was surprised a hotel I stayed at had Matrix, so I thought I would try this. It smelled good and worked pretty good for my hair.

Repurchase: Nope, but would use it again!

Pharmacopia Verbena Shampoo ~ samples & Pharmacopia Verbena Conditioner ~ sample.

Clearly I'm trying to get through some of my stuff that's been sitting around in my collection - time to clear out some products! This is another hotel set and I was really impressed with it. This actually worked really well on my hair and I liked it.
Repurchase: No, but would use it again

Live Clean Coconut Milk Shampoo ~ $14.59 CAN. This Live Clean Coconut Milk Shampoo gently cleanses as coconut oil adds hydration and balance to hair. Enriched with Vitamin C, E and Provitamin B5 and with Certified Organic Botanicals for naturally moisturised locks.

Live Clean Coconut Milk Conditioner ~ $14.59 CAN. This Live Clean Coconut Milk Conditioner gently cleanses as coconut oil adds hydration and balance to hair. Enriched with Vitamin C, E and Provitamin B5 and with Certified Organic Botanicals for naturally moisturised locks.

I have generally liked the Live Clean products that I have tried; but, I just couldn't get this Coconut Milk set to work for my hair. It was heavy and weighed my hair down after using this. I couldn't quite finish these products up as they just didn't work. My hair is fine and thin and hard to find products that work well for it.
Repurchase: No

Exact Lens Care System ~ $15.99 CAN for 2 systems and 2 cases. 3.3% hydrogen peroxide cleaning and disinfecting solution.

I'm really happy earlier this year when I switched to a hydrogen peroxide based system to clean my contact lenses - it just and preps them sooo well - making them so comfortable to wear. Totally worth the switch - this actually made my favorites in June

Repurchase: Already have!

Mitchum Clinical Soft Solid ~ $8.99 CAN.

Deodorant is nothing special; but, I love the clinical strength formula and this brand is my go to. I like that it is both an antiperspirant and a deodorant. It works well for me.
Repurchase: Yes

Joe Fresh Cotton Pads ~ $2.00 CAN.

I always say that these are just good; but, once you use a really crappy cotton pad, you realize that these ones are actually really good! Really good! These ones work well for my face and nails.
Repurchase: Yes

Miniso Moomin Cotton Pads ~ $3.00 CAN.

I picked these up because they look nice and thick; but, they didn't work as well as I was hoping. I used them all and they were fine; but, I will stick to Joe Fresh or Shiseido.
Repurchase: No

Colgate Optic White ~ $?

Toothpaste is toothpaste - this one worked well. No complaints.

Lush Pink Bath Bomb ~ $?

I think they've changed Pink; because it looks different on the website without the little flowers on it. Anyways, this was fun and was worked fine. It was an older bath bomb and I was using up a huge set my husband got me forever ago.

So in November, I used up 33 products! Pretty good I'd say!

Now, here is a look at the masks I used this month:

Lush Rosy Cheeks Fresh Face Mask ~ $12.95 CAN. A simple blend of kaolin, calamine and Turkish rose oil delicately calms the skin and restores balance.

I love the Lush fresh face masks - they can be a bit of a pain to rinse off; but, overall they work well. This one was really calming and softening on the skin and it smelled so soothing! You can see a full review of it here
Repurchase: Likely

Mad Beauty Disney Villains Face Mask Collection ~ £10.50/ $14.41 US. At Mad Beauty we love Disney Princesses but we  have to admit we really love their Villains too and so have launched the villains range of face masks, they're wicked!

I used all 3 masks in this set - Maleficent, Cruella and Ursula! They are hilarious to wear and Cruella is terrifying; but, they all basically did the same thing. They were fine masks - more about the looks than the quality. I did a whole review on all 3 if you want more information on each of them here! (Also, the fit of these masks was insanely big!)
Repurchase: Not likely

The Face Shop Bright Eyes Modelling Gel Patch ~ $?

These are older in my collection and I'm trying to use everything up before it expires or just past it's date. These don't look available anymore; but, they were fine eye gels.
Repurchase: No

Laneige Multiberry Yogurt Repairing Mask ~ sample size (full size is $33.00 CAN).

This mask smells so good (like berries!) and is an easy to use rinse off mask. Apply a layer of mask and leave on for 5-10 minutes and rinse off. I found a lot of mask absorbed in to my skin so there was only a little bit left to rinse off. This made my skin feel good and hydrated! Weirdly, this isn't available anymore either!
Repurchase: I will keep using this one before I decide

Dermal Coenzyme Q10 Collagen Essence Mask ~ $2.44 CAN.

I hadn't tried anything from this brand before - the fit was terrible and the mask wasn't anything memorable for me.
Repurchase: No

Fresh Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask ~ sample size (full size is 100 ml for $112.00). Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask with advanced antioxidants is a hydrating treatment that immediately reveals softer, firmer, healthier-looking skin.

This is a leave on mask and it has a really great texture - it is light and velvety and feels so smooth on the skin! This smells amazing and made my skin look really good! I loved this! I reviewed this for a Skincare Sunday post a while ago - you an see the detailed review here
Repurchase: Maybe, but why so expensive?! Damn...

Sephora Collection Supermask - The Mud Mask ~ $8.00 CAN. A two-part sheet mask that has been infused with a mineral mud formula to mattify, balance, and remineralize the skin.
I just wrote about this on a Mask Wednesday - you can see my full thoughts here; but, what a genius idea to have a mud mask without the mess! Amazing! And it seriously delivered results! My skin looked great after!
Repurchase: Yes!

L'Herboflore Perfume Balancing Hydromask ~ $3.00 CAN.

I quite like this mask brand - this fit and material mask are amazing! My skin felt and looked good after!
Repurchase: Maybe!

Sephora Collection Supermask - The Golden Mask ~ $8.00 CAN. A limited-edition foil mask to support skin’s natural radiance.

Foil masks are so fun and they are supposed to really help deliver that essence in to the skin! You can see my full thoughts here on this mask! It was a good mask, just not the best foil mask I've tried, and the fit was a little big for me!
Repurchase: Probably not

111Skin Bio Cellulose Facial Treatment Mask ~ $160.00 for 5 masks. Need to wake up your skin? Bio Cellulose Facial Treatment Mask 111SKIN will boost your complexion for a healthier, more radiant glow.

This mask fit really great and I love biocellulose masks - they always feel amazing and wear well on the skin. This one made my skin look and feel great; but, at $32 per mask - that's pricey! I can certainly find more affordable ones that work well too.
Repurchase: No

illi Total Aging Care Mask ~ $?

I find illi masks hard to find - these work well for sure. I think this one is getting a little past it's expiry date as it didn't do much for my skin and was a little dry; but, my experience overall with the brand has been good.
Repurchase: No

Glamglow x My Little Pony #GlitterMask GravityMud Firming Treatment ~ $75.00 CAN for 50 ml. This mask features all the benefits of the original GRAVITYMUD Firming Treatment, now in glitter to take it to the next level in shades inspired by the iconic ponies.

I konw some people think the glitter masks are crazy - but I really like this one. The Glamglow GravityMud is a good mask and there was no ill effects of having glitter in this mask. You can see my full review here; but, overall I enjoy this one and it's so fun!

Repurchase: Maybe, I have lots left!

MadBeauty Disney Princess Cinderella Foot Mask ~ £7.99. A treat for your feet fit for a princess. Helps remove callouses and reduce cracked heels. Leaves the feet feeling soft and refreshed and ready to dance all night!

So this said it was supposed to be a peeling mask that you starting seeing peeling 7 - 10 days after wearing the mask. I was rather excited about this because I thought it sounded super gross and cool to try! But, this literally did nothing- I was so dissapointed! I actually had this lined up for a full blog post and I had nothing to write because it did not do anything. It didn't even make my feet soft the night I wore them.
Repurchase: Never

So, I also used 15 masks this month which is good - I'm really trying to get closer to 20 masks or more again a month!
