Last year I started just picking any number of products I'm loving, instead of trying to find 5 each month (which I did previously!) So, whatever number of products I'm loving, that's what I will be sharing. 

Lush x Super Mario Bros Products

I have been trying to slow down on the bath products while I use some of the older products that I have, but I couldn't resist picking up a few products when I saw that they came out with a collaboration with Super Mario Bros with the new movie that just came out!

I personally didn't try a ton of new products all year - I'm really working on trying something and using it all up before trying too many other new products in the same category! With that being said, everything I talked about on my Monthly Favourites, I still love; but, when I think of the best products of the year, I think of the ones that have been total standouts or game-changers in my routine!

The Lush Kitchen Subscription box is a monthly subscription box full of exclusive Lush Kitchen goodies made exclusively for the box - every month subscribers vote on the monthly menu of products that they would or would not like to see in the box, so you can help pick what is included in the box! Also, all of the products included in each box will be vegan. 

Each month the Lush Kitchen Subscription is $49.95 CAN box is  per month + shipping (shipping to Alberta is $6.00 CAN and likely varies province to province). The subscription will come with 4-5 exclusive products and I think it will include a variety of products that Lush makes; but, will of course be mostly bath and body products.

Each month you pay and vote for products that are coming in the following month's box - so for this December's box, you had until November 5 to vote on the products you'd like to see and then payment comes out on the 6th of the previous month. Then, Lush spends the month making the products and ships it out at the end of November so you receive it in December!

Is it just me or has December just flown by?! I picked up so many new products last month with the intention of trying them all, but this month just went so fast I only tried a few things! So, most the products I'm loving this month are products that are staples in my routine and I've realized while just doing a basic look, how much I love them!

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you've all had a great week! We are officially in to Spring and I always love Spring, it's time for everything to warm up and start growing and getting green (although, I remember that I live in Calgary and we will have snow and cold for the next month still!)

I'm keeping up with my promise of more book reviews this year - and, I feel like I'm having a really good reading year! I've already read over 25 books and I always have a mix of audiobooks, e-books, and physical books on the go! I really want to focus on books I'm loving and my second 5 star review of the year went to Concrete Rose by Angie Thomas! 

So, I own a physical copy of this book already; but, I did actually listen to this on audiobook and I would highly recommend that - the narrator did a fantastic job. Angie Thomas also wrote The Hate U Give and On The Come Up, and I enjoyed both of the books, so I was looking forward to this. Concrete Rose focuses on Starr's dad, Maverick Carter, 17 years before the events of THUG. So, even though you know the "outcome" or the eventual paths that Maverick chooses, it is still a fantastic read. This book just hit me with all the feels - I laughed, I cried, I did it all and it felt pretty powerful to me. So this book takes us back to Garden Heights with 17 year old Maverick in a very intense time in his life - he is raising a son that the mother has left with him, he loses a family member to a crime, and he is trying to decide on whether to get out or go deeper in the gang life he has been living.

It is a little pricey with the conversion to Canada; but, I've only been getting it every couple of months, so I consider it a fun subscription box splurge!

I just realized that I have been using this scent since it was released in 2003! - I know that I was using this in High School and I graduated in 2004 and I used it pretty regularly for years! And since then, every couple of years I pick it up at the drugstore and I'm always reminded why I love it!

Tropical Fruit Skincare Products for Summer

I know fruity products have been around for a while, but I have been seeing so many tropical fruit inspired products released lately that I can't keep up with them all! And, I personally love them all - they are so perfect for Summertime!

I typically tend to wear light scents overall - I work in a scent free work place, so I've gotten used to light or no scents overall. Even though I like to keep things light, I do still like to experiment with scents! 

Fresh, Fun Products for Spring!

It sounds so cliche; but, the word I always associate with Spring is "fresh". New growth and new beginnings - everything about the season just always feels fresh and new. You know what I mean, right?! That fresh scent of Spring is my favourite!

Personally, Calgary is a little slow to get on the fresh train - we had snow this whole past weekend and it's been pretty cold! I'm waiting for that slow warm up, so I can start to see green grass and my garden grow!

New Miss So...? Fragrances and a Giveaway!

I tend not to talk about scents too much here on the blog, not because I don't use or like them; but, because I'm actually pretty bad at describing scents! 

But, I wanted to share some new Miss So...? Perfume Mists and Eau Fraiche scents with you, because they smell great - I love a mist for daily wear as it's a bit lighter than a full perfume - and because Farley Co. was kind enough to offer a giveaway for my Canadian readers (make sure to check the bottom of the post!)

I actually really like that Miss So...? released these scents as both a perfume mist and an Eau Fraiche. An Eau Fraiche is similar to a perfume, but it contains a little less of the fragrance, making it a light lighter than a perfume. But, the scent is still great on me and again, I prefer a little lighter scent overall (plus, it helps keeps this line affordable and these are all under $15 at Walmart!)

August 2019 - Monthly Favourites!

I know I've been saying this a lot; but, can you believe that August is nearly over?! I feel like I blinked and Summer was gone! It was a great Summer - it was just really, really busy. I'm looking forward to things slowing down soon!
