I was really happy that I already reached two of my goals in my first update, and am excited to say I hit more for this update too! So, I wanted to use up 20 products throughout the year; but, I didn't want to overwhelm myself with 20 products at the start, so I'm rolling in new products as I reach my goals on products so I'm sticking with 10 products on a time to focus on!
Also, for this project I'm only using makeup products, as I typically go through my skincare products pretty regularly! I'm hoping my makeup use will stay regular; but, I was just told on Friday that we have to start wearing masks while at work, so I don't think I will be wearing face products very often just because I don't want them to get slimy and gross under a mask!
Since I hit a few goals this update, let's start with those products first:
I've actually had this primer for a couple of years, so I started the project with about 2/3 left, so you can see the progress I made for the first update! My goal was to finish this primer and it only had a few more uses left after the last update, so I finished it up right after the last update! I did enjoy this primer overall.
Shiseido Luminizing Satin Face Color in "RD103 Petal" ~ sample size (full size is $30 CAN). All-day true color. Silky-smooth finish. Beautiful, shiny color with just one stroke. Create a multi-dimensional look with blush and highlighters to add depth and glowing radiance.
Is there anything more accomplishing than finishing up a blush?! I know this is a deluxe size blush, but still this has taken a bit of time to use up! I've had this since 2015 Topbox, and after using a good amount in January with my Monthly Makeup Basket, I knew this would be perfect to introduce in the project to finish up and that's exactly what I managed to do! This was a great formula and a beautiful shade!
Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder ~ $8.00 CAN. The Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder is a loose powder that helps absorb oil and excess sebum. Formulated with Jeju natural minerals, this oil-control powder is a must-have for setting your make up and preventing it from becoming patchy due to excess oil.
I've also had this powder since 2015, so it was time to use it up! I don't really use loose powder that often, so these tend to sit around for a while. This is a super fine powder so it's good just under the eyes or all over - it can look a little heavy if you don't go really light with it! It does work to keep a natural finish all day and has been fine. I've had this in the project since the beginning, and started with probably 1/3 of the powder left to use, so I'm happy that I just finished it up!
Kevyn Aucoin The Celestial Highlighting Powder in CandleLight ~ $58.00 CAN. A sheer, opalescent highlighting powder that works to illuminate features with a subtle glow.
This is a highlighter that made my Monthly Favourites back in July 2016 and it was a pretty classic highlighter then! My goal was to hit pan on this highlighter - and I reached that goal in March! I was really excited to reach my goal and hit pan; but, I didn't want to stop using it so I'm going to keep this in the project a little longer! I figure, I've been reaching goals well on other products so this is okay to keep around and perhaps go for a stretch goal of finishing this up! It's slowly falling apart as it broke a while ago, so I want to get some good use out of it - I've been using it as a highlighter as well as a base shadow!
So, I reached my goals on 4 products this month, here are the other products that I've been working on in this project:
Guerlain Meteorites Highlighting Powder Pearls in 02 Light ~ $77.00 CAN. An illuminating powder made up of light-diffusing pearls that minimize flaws and add brightness to the skin.
I love these Guerlain highlighting balls - I use them as a finishing powder a lot; but, I've had this particular product since April 2014 (I wrote about it in My First Sephora Orders post). I also have a newer version of these in a slightly different finish, so I'd like to move these out of my collection!
My goal for this is to fully use it up - seems easy, but these little babies take forever to get through! I'm using these basically every day, so I'm making slow but sure progress with these!

ColourPop Super Shock Shadow in Koosh ~ $6.00 US. Icy silver taupe in an Ultra-Metallic finish.
I loved the ColourPop Super Shock shadow formula years ago - I bought so many of them! I actually got this one back in January 2016 in a set, so I'm surprised the formula has lasted this long and the shadow still looks really good.
My goal for this product is to hit pan on it - a stretch goal would be to totally use it up. Problem is, for the first two months I only used this about 2 times over the first 2 months, then I probably only used it once or twice in the past 2 months as well. It's just not really a shade that I reach for - I think if I haven't used it anymore in the next two months I'm just going to declutter it and be done with it!
Too Faced Cosmetics Sweet Peach Papa Don’t Peach Blush ~ $40.00 CAN. A brightening blush that's infused with a peach fragrance.
I reviewed this blush in January 2017 and it instantly made my Monthly Favourites then and actually made my Best of Makeup in 2017. I really enjoyed this formula and the shade is gorgeous - it's changing a little bit.
My goal is to hit pan on this blush and I've been using this a ton over the past 4 months, but you can't see much progress - I think blush is one of those products that you don't know how deep the pan is so one day it will just happen!
ColourPop Take Me Home Pressed Powder Shadow Palette ~ $12.00 US/$15.00 CAN. This mini 6 pan palette has you covered for your everyday necessities. Includes the perfect, best-selling warm-toned shades, a mix of matte and metallic finishes, and a mirror, this baby is a keeper.
I picked this up in December 2017 when ColourPop briefly sold on Sephora and instantly enjoyed it! It was really easy to use and made my Monthly Favourites in January 2018 and made my Best of Beauty in 2018! So this was great, trouble is I've picked up a few more smaller neutral palettes that I like and this formula is getting quite dusty - the more I use it, the more unhappy I'm getting with the quality, so I'd like to hit pan soon!
My goal is to hit pan on at least one shadow in this palette - I'm making good progress on the matte peach. I started this project with all of these shadows pretty evenly, so I have made decent progress.
Colour Pop Lippie Stix "Juice Bar" ~ $5.00. Cool toned berry pink in a Sheer finish, because obviously it’s good for you…
I still have a lot of these lippie stix in my collection and they were some of the first lip products I was really purchasing - this particular shade made my Favourites back in September 2015, so these have been kicking around for a while. This shade is great but it's brighter than I remember.

My goal is to finish this product - but that actually seems like a really big goal the more I try and use it. But, I only used this once in the last 2 months. Chances are this will get far more use in Spring and Summer time, so I will wait and see how I do in the Summer!
Ofra Universal Eyebrow Pencil ~ $13.00 US. Perfect your brow routine with this pencil that will define, enhance, and shape. Universally flattering on all brow tones, from the lightest blondes to the deepest brunettes, this pencil made from Synthetic Beeswax easily glides onto brows to create a smooth and long-lasting shape.
This hasn't been around since the start of the project, but since early January - so pretty much since the beginning. I've made some really good progress over the last 2 months because I've been using this pretty much daily. But, the more I use it, the more I don't like it - it's too waxy and it just doesn't look good on my brows, and I have to sharpen it every single use.

My goal is to use this brow product up, and I'm pretty close to being there - I don't think I have many more uses before I can't sharpen this anymore!
And since I finished 3 products and they are out of the project, I'm replacing them with 3 new products:
Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder ~ $51.00 CAN. A lightweight, easy-to-apply, loose powder that blends effortlessly to set makeup for up to 12 hours.
This is an older powder in my collection too and it's pretty big, so it's going to take a while to get through! I have probably about 1/3 left of the powder, but again I tend not to reach for loose powders so it's time to get this moving out if my collection.
I just rolled this in and only used it a few times before this update - my goal is to fully use this up, but if I start not wearing makeup everyday, this will take much longer to get through!
Hard Candy Sheer Envy Perfecting Primer ~ $?. A skin tone perfecting formula that brightens dull skin while decreasing the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines and pores to provide a flawless, smooth finish.
I got this primer in a Christmas set and I've used it a couple of times; but, it looks like they've rebranded their primers a little bit so this one is no longer available. I introduced this just after the first update and I only use it a little bit at a time, so I've made pretty good progress.
My goal is to finish this primer up - I have lots of primers to get through and this one is decent.
Coola SPF 30 Makeup Setting Spray ~ $51.00 CAN. A makeup setting spray with 70+ percent certified organic ingredients to reduce shine, refresh UV protection, and keep makeup looking fresh all day.
I put this in the project after finishing the blush - I really liked this and it made my Monthly Favourites in August 2019. I tend to only reach for it in the Summer, but it is a product I want to start using up, because it does have SPF in it, so it will expire.

My goal with this product is to use it up! I haven't used this much since I introduced it, as I typically use this when I'm wearing makeup outside, so I will likely use this more in Spring and Summer (or whenever we are allowed to go anywhere again...).
I'm excited to see how the progress goes with these products over the next couple of months - I will be doing my updates every two months!
I am happy that I've already reached my goal on 6 products! Woo hoo!

You did a great job with the Meteorites, they are so small now! I also have quite a collection of Lippie Stix and Super Shock Shadow, which reminds me that I should probably use them. lol
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yes, both of those products are so overlooked in my collection too
DeleteYou have inspired me to dig in and use up some of the items at the back of my drawer. I get a weird satisfaction using up things I've purchased and hoarded for a while. This usually applies to craft supplies. I can now close that closet without a struggle, lol. Now I'm working through that makeup drawer. . . ok, drawers.
ReplyDeleteYes, use what you have with anything!
