When I saw the new Viseart Mini Petit Pro Chou Chou Eyeshadow Palette, I actually really wanted it! It was perfect for Spring and Summer - it comes with bright shades and it is really refreshing! I already have 3 of the Petit Pro palettes in my collection and I like the quality, so I was certainly considering purchasing the palette!
And, while the Chou Chou palette was really pretty, I was trying to be a little more rational about my purchasing choices and I thought I might have similar shadows in my collection and I thought I would try and "Dupe The Vibes" of the palette from my shadows in my collection!
To me, the closest for the overall vibes of the Chou Chou palette is the ColourPop My Little Pony palette - it has the same overall shades, it's just a little more muted, so some of the other palettes were used just for deeper and brighter shades! If you are interested in the Viseart Chou Chou palette, I'm not discouraging you from it at all (I'm very interested in it and that's why I'm doing this!), I just trying to focus a little more on using my makeup collection and avoid multiple duplicates in my collection!
The palettes that I used to Dupe The Vibes, are:
-ColourPop Orange You Glad? Eyeshadow Palette
-Pat McGrath Labs MTHRSHP Subversive La Vie En Rose Eyeshadow Palette
-Viseart Petite Pro 5 Soleil Palette
-ColourPop My Little Pony Pressed Powder Shadow Palette
Here's a look at the Viseart Chou Chou palette from the Sephora website, and mine are matched up shadow by shadow beneath so you can see the comparison of my dupes! I matched each shade as close with the palettes I have as well as similar finishes. I think I pulled off the overall vibe pretty well. Of course, as I've never tried the Chou Chou palette, I can't say that these are true dupes, that's why I'm duping the vibes!
The shadows that I used are:
-Pastille from the Mini Petite Pro 5 Soleil (compared to Viseart Sand Castle - a sandy beige with a matte finish)
-Flutterbye from the ColourPop My Little Pony Palette (compared to Viseart Creamsicle - warm brown with a matte finish)
-Squeeze Me from the ColourPop Orange You Glad Palette (compared to Viseart Sangria - burnt orange with a shimmer finish)
-Rose Risque from the Pat McGrath La Vie En Rose Palette (compared to Viseart Popsicle - bubblegum pink with a matte finish)
-Firefly from the ColourPop My Little Pony Palette (compared to Viseart Icy - soft silver with a metallic finish)
-Rise N Grind from the ColourPop Orange You Glad Palette (compared to Viseart Melon - bright coral with a matte finish)
-Taffy from the Mini Petite Pro 5 Soleil (compared to Viseart Cotton Candy - vibrant pink with a shimmer finish)
-Pale Fire from the Pat McGrath La Vie En Rose Palette (compared to Viseart Sorbet - shimmery peach with a duochrome finish)
For this look, I used Pastille as my base shadow and I used Flutterbye as a transition shadow in the crease. Then, I used Rose Risque on the outer corner and brought it through the crease. Then, I did a light cut crease and applied Squeeze Me all over the lid, with Taffy on the outer lid with Rose Risque. Then, I applied Rise N Grind to the lower lash, and I applied Icy and Pale Fire together on the inner corner.
I love how bright, peachy and pink this look is - I'm ready for warm weather!
The products I used to finish the eye look are:
-Lorac Behind The Scenes Eye Primer
-Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Brow Mousse in Medium Brown
-Chella Highlighter Pencil in Ivory Lace
And, the products I used for the rest of my face are:
-Hard Candy Sheer Envy Perfecting Primer
-Essence Brighten Up! Banana Powder
-Too Faced Peach Blur Translucent Smoothing Finishing Powder
-Wet n Wild Colour Icon Bronzer in You're Dragon Me Down
-Too Faced Tutti Frutti Fruit Cocktail Blush Duo in Strobeberry
-Wet n Wild Photo Focus Setting Spray
-ColourPop Creme Lux Lipstick in "Ariel"
And, here is the final bright, Springy look inspired by the Viseart Chou Chou palette! I like the peachy and melon inspired shades that really make me feel of warm Spring and Summer days!
I think this look really helped me decide that I don't personally need to add the Chou Chou palette to my collection - don't get me wrong, it's beautiful, but I'm happy to know that as beautiful as it is, I feel like I have the shades in my collection and I can easily create a variety of looks that I could create with this palette. I know I'm very consumeristic and I do buy a lot of makeup; but, I'm just trying to make sure that even in my consumption, I'm trying to be smarter!
Have you guys tried Duping The Vibes of a palette from your stash?! I really like doing it!
You have the prettiest eyes ever. I do like the way you blended all the colors together. Great tutorial. I am excited to try out.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
Deletefirst of all, that is a great haul you picked up. So I know nothing about make-up but I showed darcee, my wife and she said she liked that Chou Chou palette you snagged at Sephora. I will say those colors definitely made your eyes pop more than normal too
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!
DeleteRose Gold/Pink suits you! Very pretty look! I have also been trying to be wiser about using what I have as well. I would never deny that I love buying things, but I'm trying to remind myself that if I buy, it should be USED!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I just bought the Viseart Pro 5 Soleil palette from the Sephora sale so I look forward to playing with it!
Thanks Jayne - I know I love buying things, but I've been having fun duping these new palettes that I KNOW I have the shades of! And, I love the Soleil palette!
DeleteYou did a great job finding dupes. This look is so pretty on you, I love it.
ReplyDeleteI like the colors you chose. It suits you perfectly. I have darker skin tone so I will have to choose what colors would work well for me.

ReplyDeleteThank you - totally reminds me of sunsets too!
DeleteI really like the colours in the Viseart box. They don't suit me but I love just looking at those colours. They brighten my day!
ReplyDeleteThank you! It's certainly not for everyone, but I love it!
DeleteWith the situation on ground, people have been forced to shop less. I'm not a make up fan, I actually believe that natural is beautiful but those seem like nice colours.
ReplyDeleteYes, certainly shopping less, so trying to use what I have!
