July 2016 - Monthly Favorites

Here is a look at my Top 5 Favorite products for July!

ColourPop Super Shock Eyeshadow in "Birthday Boy" ~ limited edition free with purchase gift for ColourPop's second birthday. Taupe-y violet with silver shimmer.

This was a very limited edition shadow and it is GORGEOUS! I have used this in some capacity almost every time I have done my make-up this past month! I love it! If you want to see a swatch of this shadow, you can go to my review post here

Skindinavia The Makeup Finishing Spray Bridal ~ 8 oz for $39 (or 4 oz for $29). Kiss-proof, cry-proof and sweat-proof, Skindinavia’s ultra-fine spray is specially designed to resist the effects of excess moisture and helps keep makeup looking flawless.
Our award-winning mist controls stress-induced shine and keeps makeup photo-ready for up to 16 hours. Recommended for all skin types.

This should have made my favorites last Summer when I used it for my actual wedding. This setting spray is a rock-star! It is the best setting spray EVER! This actually makes your makeup last all day and look good (especially in hot Summer weather!) Even if you are not getting married, I would recommend the bridal spray, not the regular setting spray as I think the finish is better and it lasts longer!

Kao - Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF 50+ PA++++ ~ $19.85 (can also be found on Amazon for $13.50). Water-based sunscreen has a non-sticky and non-greasy formula that easily spreads to provide comfortable protection from UV rays without an unattractive whitish cast. UV-blocking Aqua Micro Capsules wards off UV rays for maximum protection while keeping skin feeling cool and refreshed. Apply sunscreen daily as part of your skin care routine. Suitable for face and body application.

This is my must-have holy grail sunscreen for my face/neck. I can't entirely explain the PA++++ system, but a 4+ is the highest rating in Japanese suncare protection and has to do with protection against UV rays so it is different than a SPF which is why they have 2 ratings on this sunscreen. I would look for the 4+ version, not the 3+ version for better UV protection (this version is new from 2015)

This is amazing sunscreen - it goes on clear and leaves no residue or white look. It dries immediately making it perfect for the face under makeup or alone! It can also be used for the whole body as well - I usually save for my face as I have not found anything else that works as well under my makeup. I use this every day now!

Kevyn Aucoin The Celestial Powder in "Candlelight" ~ $53.00. The Celestial Powder accentuates your best features. This sheer, champagne-colored powder blurs imperfections, highlights cheekbones, and illuminates any areas that light naturally hits with an illuminating gleam. Sweep this highlighting powder over foundation, bare skin, or dust it all over the face for a soft, ethereal glow that is lightweight and leaves a flawless, sheer finish.

This highlight is very light and gorgeous! It a beautiful, subtle shade - and it offers a nice highlight without being too bright or shimmery. It is the perfect Summer highlight to me - I like generally light and natural makeup while the weather is hot and this is perfect for that look!

Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment ~ deluxe sample (full size is $31.00). An antiaging lip treatment proven to repair, nourish, plump, and smooth the look of wrinkles around the delicate lip area.

I received this sample in a Sephora order and this is amazing! Now, I have lip balms I love, but this treatment offers so much hydration! My lips feel soft and smooth for so long! This works really well to repair lips and I now use this every night before bed!

What have you been loving in July?

  1. Gah, I want to try ColourPop so bad but I don't look forward to the shipping and possible customs fees. :/ I live for facial mists and setting sprays! Skindinavia make such good ones!

    1. I love Colourpop - if you start small with a couple of items, shipping will be $10, goes up to $15 with a few more. I'm usually anti-shipping fees but I think because the products are so inexpensive I don't mind as much! Also, I have never been charged a customs fee and keep my orders to a reasonable size!
