Masking - Last 50 Days Of My #100DaysofSheetMasks

Way back on August 1, I started a #100Daysofsheetmasks challenge with a fellow blogger, Jayne from Cosmetic Proof and the challenge went all the way to November 8. Basically, we wear a mask every day for 100 days straight! I shared my reviews and thoughts of my First 50 days on another post - you can check it out here if you are interested

Some masks may have been received as PR or won in giveaways - this post contains affiliate links

While I found the first 50 days really fun, I did actually think the second 50 days was quite hard to get to - it almost made masking feel a little like a chore to me (sadly), so I actually haven't used a sheet mask since I finished the 100 days! But, I certainly plan on starting again in moderation! And, this challenge was good and my skin certainly benefited from it, I think I'd do a month timeline as a max for the next round!

Skincare Sunday #CBBGetsSheetFaced Week One Recap with Reviews - Mediheal, SNP, LookAtMe, Dermal, Lovemore, & A'Pieu

I'm super excited for this week's Skincare Sunday mask post; because, I'm not just reviewing one mask today, I'm reviewing seven! The whole month of February, Jayne from Cosmetic Proof and Chantal from Chantal's Corner and I are teaming up to use 28 masks in February and we are calling it #CBBGetsSheetFaced (which is hilarious!!!). Each week we have a different theme, and the first week's theme is Animals and Print masks!

Skincare Sunday #CBBGetsSheetFaced

We are all planning on posting weekly recaps with our masks (mine will be Skincare Sundays); but, we are sharing our masks each night on our instagram stories, so you should follow along! (And, check out the hashtag as we have lots of other fellow CBBers jumping in sporadically throughout the month!)

June 2018 - Monthly Empties and Month in Masks

Time for a look at my beauty garbage:

June 2018 - Monthly Empties and Month in Masks

Make Up For Ever Step 1 Skin Equalizer Primer ~ $45.00 CAN. A makeup primer that assists with balancing the skin's texture and tone for smoother, more even, and longer-lasting makeup wear.

This was a pretty good primer - I thought it worked well to smooth out pores and make foundation application easier. This actually made my favorite products back in Feb. 2016 and I still like it. This bottle still has a bit in it, but it's getting old and I found it wasn't applying to my skin the same way so time to get rid of it!
Repurchase: Yes, eventually...

Also, if you are looking for other fun characters to wear, this is a brand to check out, they have everything - otter, tiger, dragon, you name it!

My U.S.A. Shopping Haul - Ulta, Target, Sephora and Naimies!

I could not wait to get this post up - I may have went a little shopping crazy on my recent trip to L.A. and Anaheim. There are so many products that aren't readily in Canada that I have been waiting patiently to try!

(Also, I usually keep everything in CAD $ in my posts, but just because these are easier in USD, that's what I will share the prices in for this haul!)

I didn't actually think I would make it to a Sephora while in California! When we were in L.A. it was just too far of a drive; but, when we stayed in Anaheim we walked to our house through Downtown Disney and I saw Sephora and HAD to run in and pick this one item up!

Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask ~ $45.00 US. The Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask is a luxuriously bouncy, breathable sleeping mask that smoothes and perfects skin, overnight.

October 2017 - Month in Masks & Mask Empties!

Masking is a huge part (and probably my favorite part) of my skincare routine! I try to use all types of masks as often as possible as I find they really help moisturize and improve my skin!

This post is a review of all the masks I use each month and mini reviews on all of them - I also consider the Month of Masks my Mask Empties post, because I do not feature my sheet masks in my monthly empties post!

Here is a look at the masks I used in October:

October 2017 - Month in Masks & Mask Empties!
October 2
Purlisse Blue Lotus + White Tea Treatment Sheet Mask ~ 6 masks for $36.00 ($6.00 each).

This mask smelled really good and it worked decently on my face. It was a bit thicker of a mask but it did brighten my skin. It was good, but not the most amazing mask that I have ever tried. At $6 each - it should be pretty good. I can find better for less $!
Repurchase: Not likely...

Five on Friday - October 27, 2017

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all had a great week - ours has been busy and a little tiring but good!

ONE
Have you guys heard of Monat before? I hadn't heard of it until a couple of weeks ago. A few girls in our mom group have been told it helped with post-partum hair loss (which I am currently experiencing in full swing right now!)

A Calgary rep sent me a couple of samples to try out! I received the Hydration System which includes the Revive Shampoo ($45.00 CAN) and Revitalize Conditioner ($61.00 CAN) - both meant to "increase hair density, strength and manageability". Also the Replenish Masque ($65.00 CAN) which is meant to help "increase hair brilliance, strength and vitality". Then, a sample of the Rejuvenique Oil ($129.00 CAN) which is meant to "nourish and energize the scalp with 11+ unique molecular ingredients that are so pure and versatile that it can be used in multiple ways to improve skin and hair".

September 1
Vichy Double Glow Peel Mask ~ $34.00. Leaves skin glowing and radiant thanks to Vitamin C and its AHA and volcanic stone exfoliation.

I love that these Vichy masks are only 5 minutes to use! This one is great - apply a layer to face, wear for 5 minutes, rub in with fingers to peel and then rinse off! I think it works great and my skin looked glowy and smooth the next morning! Love this! (If you want to see a full review on this, check out my past review here!)

August 2015 Beauteque Mask Maven - Mask Subscription Review

Beauteque is an American company that focuses on creating a beauty bag subscription featuring Asian Beauty products. Beauteque launched their original "BB Bag" Subscription in January of this year and their "Mask Maven" was just launched a couple months later in March.

The Mask Maven subscription is described as:

"The Mask Maven is a luxurious subscription service offering a lovely assortment of masks each month to keep your skin smooth, soft, and spectacular.
You will receive all kinds of masks including face sheet masks, hand and feet masks, hair masks, wash off masks, and more."

Beauteque Mask Maven is $15 monthly - if you sign up for a longer subscription, you can save a little money: $14 per month if you sign up for 6 months, or $13 per month if you sign up for 12 months. Shipping per month is $3.95 for the U.S., $5.95 to Canada, and $8.95 to Europe. Each month you can expect to receive 9-11 masks of all varieties.

*So I initially signed up for 3 months, which was March-May and the subscription was a little disorganized and had too many repeat items. I actually forgot to cancel my sub. For June-Aug and I am happy I stuck around, because Mask Maven stepped it up with some much needed improvements last month - same masks for all subscribers (with only a few that could be different types), more brand variety, and a product card! Again, great improvements*

Here is a look at the August 2015 Mask Maven:

Looks like a great mix of masks!

June 2015 - Month of Masks in Review

My Skincare Routine is very important to me - you can view my Daily and Nightly routines here if you are familiar with the Korean 10 Step skincare routine! Masks are a big part of this routine and since I have come to love this routine, I have incorporated so many new masks in to my routine! I love trying different brands and different types of masks! Hopefully after this post you love masks as much as I do!

Hope you enjoy reading about all the masks I have tried!

June 1

Lush Love Lettuce ~ $9.95. Love Lettuce is our exfoliating ground almond mask that scoops up dirt, oil and debris and washes it all away. Exfoliation is an important part of good skincare, as it removes the buildup of dead skin that can clog your pores and cause impurities. Love Lettuce is a great example of how just a few ingredients can make a fresh, effective product for the skin. We blend calming French lavender oil with seaweed and honey to nourish and soften skin, and to balance oily T-zones.
