20 in 2020 Project Pan - Update #3

In December I kicked off my big year-long Project Pan - I am planning on using up or hitting pan on 20 makeup products throughout the whole year and I'm using 10 products at a time. So, I introduced the first 10 products in December, did an update in February, an update in April, and this is my third update!

The Hard Candy primer and concealer were received as PR samples - this post contains affiliate links

At the end of the second update I had reached my goal on 6 products already, which felt great! I'm doing this in a rolling project pan, so I'm starting with 10 products and as I hit my pan, I'm rolling new products in to work on!

Also, for this project I'm only using makeup products, as I typically go through my skincare products pretty regularly! I'm hoping my makeup use will stay regular; but, I was just told on Friday that we have to start wearing masks while at work, so I don't think I will be wearing face products very often just because I don't want them to get slimy and gross under a mask!

Since I hit a few goals this update, let's start with those products first:

Ofra Universal Eyebrow Pencil ~ $13.00 US. Perfect your brow routine with this pencil that will define, enhance, and shape. Universally flattering on all brow tones, from the lightest blondes to the deepest brunettes, this pencil made from Synthetic Beeswax easily glides onto brows to create a smooth and long-lasting shape.

I started this brow pencil in early January and used it pretty much daily until I finished it up in early May - I used this until I couldn't sharpen it anymore! Honestly,
the more I use it, the more I don't like it - it's too waxy and it just doesn't look good on my brows, and I have to sharpen it every single use. I'm glad it's done; but, I'm happy to have used it up!

ColourPop Take Me Home Pressed Powder Shadow Palette ~ $12.00 US/$15.00 CAN. This mini 6 pan palette has you covered for your everyday necessities. Includes the perfect, best-selling warm-toned shades, a mix of matte and metallic finishes, and a mirror, this baby is a keeper.

I picked this up in December 2017 when ColourPop briefly sold on Sephora and instantly enjoyed it! It was really easy to use and made my Monthly Favourites in January 2018 and made my Best of Beauty in 2018! But, the trouble is the older it gets, the more unhappy I'm getting with the quality - it's way too powdery and kind of a mess. The shimmers crease and smudge everywhere.

So, I hit pan on the the light peach on May 28, 2020 and couldn't be more thrilled - I had originally wanted to maybe hit pan on one or two shadows, but I'm happy for this to be out of my collection after getting a little more use out of it.

Too Faced Cosmetics Sweet Peach Papa Don’t Peach Blush ~ $40.00 CAN. A brightening blush that's infused with a peach fragrance.

reviewed this blush in January 2017 and it instantly made my Monthly Favourites then and actually made my Best of Makeup in 2017. I really enjoyed this formula and the shade is gorgeous - it's changing a little bit because it's getting a little older and is getting some hard pan.

I hit pan on a blush!!! Look at that teeny tiny little pan! Woo hoo! It took almost 6 months in this project, (with the last month and a half of straight use) and I finally did it! I made some really good progress with the blush, so I'm happy to move it out of the project now!

So, I reached my goals on 3 products this month; but, I also have one product that I haven't touched at all, so I'm taking it out of the product, calling it a loss and and tossing it:

ColourPop Super Shock Shadow in Koosh ~ $6.00 US. Icy silver taupe in an Ultra-Metallic finish.

I loved the ColourPop Super Shock shadow formula years ago - I bought so many of them! I actually got this one back in January 2016 in a set, so I'm surprised the formula has lasted this long and the shadow still looks really good.

My goal for this product is to hit pan on it and I just could not manage this. I have used it maybe 3 times over the past 6 months and I just don't like this shade, so I'm just not going to reach for it.

Kind of a bummer not to reach a goal, so here are the other products that I've been working on in this project:

20 in 2020 Project Pan - Update #3

Guerlain Meteorites Highlighting Powder Pearls in 02 Light ~ $77.00 CAN. An illuminating powder made up of light-diffusing pearls that minimize flaws and add brightness to the skin.

I love these Guerlain highlighting balls - I use them as a finishing powder a lot; but, I've had this particular product since April 2014 (I wrote about it in My First Sephora Orders post). I also have a newer version of these in a slightly different finish, so I'd like to move these out of my collection!

My goal for this is to fully use it up - seems easy, but these little babies take forever to get through! I'm using these basically every day, so I'm making slow but sure progress with these; but, I'm sure they will be done by the end of the year!

20 in 2020 Project Pan - Update #3

Colour Pop Lippie Stix "Juice Bar" ~ $5.00. Cool toned berry pink in a Sheer finish, because obviously it’s good for you…

I still have a lot of these lippie stix in my collection and they were some of the first lip products I was really purchasing - this particular shade made my Favourites back in September 2015, so these have been kicking around for a while. This shade is great but it's brighter than I remember.

My goal is to finish this product - but that actually seems like a really big goal the more I try and use it. I haven't reached for this at all during the last 2 months. I'm hoping the Summer will have me reaching more for this, if not I'm going to toss it as well.

20 in 2020 Project Pan - Update #3

Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder ~ $51.00 CAN. A lightweight, easy-to-apply, loose powder that blends effortlessly to set makeup for up to 12 hours.

This is an older powder in my collection too and it's pretty big, so it's going to take a while to get through! I have probably about 1/3 left of the powder, but again I tend not to reach for loose powders so it's time to get this moving out if my collection and my goal is to finish it up.

I just rolled this in in April and I've only reached for it a little bit. I still have a fair bit of this left, so I need to pick up my use a little bit more if I want to finish this!

20 in 2020 Project Pan - Update #3

Hard Candy Sheer Envy Perfecting Primer ~ travel size (full size is $8.98 CAN). A skin tone perfecting formula that brightens dull skin while decreasing the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines and pores to provide a flawless, smooth finish.

I got this primer in a Christmas set and I've used it a couple of times and I introduced this just after the first update and I didn't get much use before update 2, so I'm pretty impressed with the progress that I made for this update!

My goal is to finish this primer up - I have lots of primers to get through in my collection and this one has been pretty good, but I'm happy to be moving through some older ones!

20 in 2020 Project Pan - Update #3

Coola SPF 30 Makeup Setting Spray ~ $51.00 CAN. A makeup setting spray with 70+ percent certified organic ingredients to reduce shine, refresh UV protection, and keep makeup looking fresh all day.

I really liked this setting spray and it made my Monthly Favourites in August 2019. I tend to only reach for it in the Summer, but it is a product I want to start using up, because it does have SPF in it, so it will expire.

My goal with this product is to use it up and my use has been picking it up the more that it warms up and there is lots of sun. I do like this as a light SPF refresher for the Summer. It does have a strong smell; but, I really like this.

Kevyn Aucoin The Celestial Highlighting Powder in CandleLight ~ $58.00 CAN. A sheer, opalescent highlighting powder that works to illuminate features with a subtle glow.

This is a highlighter that made my Monthly Favourites back in July 2016 and it was a pretty classic highlighter then! My goal was to hit pan on this highlighter - and I reached that goal in March! I was really excited to reach my goal and hit pan; but, I didn't want to stop using it so I'm going to keep this in the project a little longer and my stretch goal is to use this up.

I figure, I've been reaching goals well on other products so this is okay to keep around and perhaps go for a stretch goal of finishing this up! It's slowly falling apart as it broke a while ago, so I want to get some good use out of it - I've been using it as a highlighter as well as a base shadow!

And, since I used up 3 products and am tossing 1, I do have 4 new products that I'm introducing to the project:

20 in 2020 Project Pan - Update #3

MAC Cosmetics Eye Brows in "Spiked" ~ $21.00 CAN. Self-propelling, self-sharpening, and brow-defining. This pencil will add everything you need: shape, colour and/or density in one streamlined tool. Like a pen, it creates its own just-right point for striking arches. It's also the perfect pencil to take on the go- no sharpener needed!

I got this in a subscription box back in 2017 and it's okay - the brow pencil itself works fine, but I really prefer a brow product with a spoolie on the end and I dislike a product that you cannot twist back down. Drives me crazy - I'm actually worried that I'm going to do my makeup and I'm going to get one brow done and then boom, no more product left.

My goal is to use this product up, and I have no idea how long it will take - I actually have no way to measure this (I don't have a scale) and I just haven't used it a ton, so we'll see. I just want to move my older brow products that are just okay out of my collection!

20 in 2020 Project Pan - Update #3

Lorac Behind The Scenes Eye Primer ~ travel size (full size is $32.00 CAN). This gentle, lightweight, oil, fragrance and paraben free formula keeps your eye shadow picture-perfect and crease-free from day to night.

This primer came in a set with the original Lorac Pro palette that I got back in 2016 (I've actually already decluttered that palette) so this is getting old! My goal is to use it up; but, I find eye primers really hard to use up!

I will try and use this every day, so even though I'm only using a little bit of it, I should be able to hopefully finish it up (I have just over half of it left!)

20 in 2020 Project Pan - Update #3

Hard Candy Sheer Envy Color Correct Cushion Wonder in "Peach" ~ $6.98 CAN. This color-correcting serum instantly provides weightless color correction of any skin coloration concern. Packaged in a tube with a cushion tip, no additional tools are needed! Blend into your skin to target and CORRECT your skin concerns in 1 simple step!

I got this back in 2017 and this was a
game-changer in my concealer routine - I a look here when I first received it, then it made my Monthly Favourites in July 2017, and then it made my Best of Makeup in 2017! And, then I started trying a bunch of new concealers and this one got pushed to the back.

My goal is to use this up - it is still a good formula, but it is a really messy applicator and it is getting old, so time to use it up!

20 in 2020 Project Pan - Update #3

ColourPop Super Shock Shadow in Weenie ~ $5.00 US. A pinky rose gold in a Pearlized finish.

I picked this up back in June 2016 and it's from a past KathleenLights Where The Night Is collection and this is a really gorgeous colour. My goal for this shadow is to hit pan on it. I think I will have much better luck with this than the more silver shade.

I just rolled this in for this update, so I will see how much I can get out of this over the next 2 months!

20 in 2020 Project Pan - Update #3

I'm excited to see how the progress goes with these products over the next couple of months - I will be doing my updates every two months, so my next update will be in August!

I am happy that I've already reached my goal on 9 products! Woo hoo! So, just under half way through my goal half way through the year!

  1. You've done so well with your project pan lately. I find powder products take forever and even once it hits pan there's still a long way to go. Looking forward to your next update in August :)
