May 2020 - Monthly Empties and Month in Masks

Here's a look at my beauty garbage from May:

May 2020 - Monthly Empties and Month in Masks
Some products may have been received as PR samples - this post contains affiliate links

Lip Smacker Easter Tsum Tsum Minnie - Strawberry Lollipop ~ $4.95 US. Your favorite Tsum Tsum characters have arrived just in time for Easter! Add Easter Minnie Tsum Tsum to your collection, in a yummy Strawberry Lollipop Flavor.

How adorable is this little Minnie Mouse?! I love Tsum Tsums and these are just the cutest lip balms! This one smelled really good and was a good lip balm.
Repurchase: Maybe, it was an Easter one so it's probably seasonal

Wet N Wild Photo Focus Setting Spray ~ $6.49 CAN. Kiss creasing and cracking goodbye with this setting spray that’ll seal the deal on your fresh-faced makeup application.

I picked this up because I was interested in trying a drugstore setting spray; but, this one was just okay. I found the setting spray itself was good; but, I found the spray was just a little too heavy for my liking - I prefer a lighter mist on myself.
Repurchase: Not likely

Green Beaver Ultra Moisturizing Lip Balm ~ $4.99 CAN. Enriched with skin-healing aloe and Vitamin E. Green Beaver Ultra Moisturizing Lip Balm is also unflavoured so you won’t lick your lips dry again.

I like these squeezy tube lip balms - I think this formula was pretty good. It's thick and moisturizing. I like that this brand is natural, organic and Canadian and I thought this was pretty good. If it seems weird that I went through a couple of lip balms, I always keep like 5 on the go - my room, makeup room, work, purse, etc. This one was good.
Repurchase: I would consider it

Dior Lip Glow in Pink Glow ~ $42.00 CAN. The first universal balm by Dior reacts to the unique chemistry of each woman's lips to give them a natural flush of custom pink that suits her skin tone. As if revived from within, lips are fresh, full and radiant.

This is one of my 2019 Best of Makeup Discoveries! It is such a great lip balm and it's so hydrating on the lips - it adds a hint of colour and looks really nice on - you can see a whole review on it here! This is such a good tinted balm!
Repurchase: Yes, I want to

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara ~ mini size here (full size is $32.00 CAN). An intensely black, volumizing mascara with an hourglass-shaped brush that separates, coats, and curls each lash to voluptuous perfection.

This has pretty much been a classic formula for me that I really liked wearing; but, this time was not the same. This was really flaky and smudgy on me - my undereyes were always black and I just couldn't enjoy this formula at all anymore.
Repurchase Not likely

The Balm Meet Matt(e) Hughes in Committed ~ mini size (full size is $9.99 CAN). Meet Matt(e) Hughes is a series of 12 highly-pigmented shades that deliver a lightweight matte finish with full payoff.

This liquid lipstick made my Favourites all the back in May 2016 and I got it in an Ipsy bag and picked up a few more minis because I loved this formula and colour. I just found this particular one in my purse and it had one last use in it, so I used it in my Shop My Stash post!
Repurchase: I still have a couple

May 2020 - Monthly Empties and Month in Masks

Blume Stargirl Face Mist ~ $32.00 CAN. Our new face mist is totally out of this world! The invigorating ingredients work to wake you up and get you going, whether you’re wearing makeup or not.

This is such a great face mist - it made my Monthly Favourites in December 2019! I shared this on my Fall Transition Skincare products and you can see my thoughts on it hereThis mist has aloe juice to hydrate and calm, witch hazel to keep oil in check, rose water to balance skin tone, blue tansy to calm troubled skin, and peppermint to sooth and cool! I really noticed an improvement in my skin while I was using this!

Repurchase: Yes, I want to!

Glow Recipe Banana Souffle Moisture Cream ~ $50.00 CAN. A soothing, lightweight moisturizer, this sweet soufflĂ© of banana, magnesium, turmeric, and cica is your recipe for calmer, hydrated, even skin.

I picked this moisturizer up in December when it came out and I have been loving it - I just reviewed it and you can see my full thoughts on it here and it made my Monthly Favourites in February! It is a perfect day time moisturizer for the Winter and a good nighttime moisturizer as the weather warmed up! This is lightweight, but deeply hydrating and moisturizing!
Repurchase: Yes, I will eventually

Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk - Ultra Gentle ~ $15.49 CAN. Dry shampoo with Oat Milk for all hair types. With its gentle formula, it cleans hair without water.

I used to use Klorane dry shampoo exclusively; but, I've been trying other formulas for years and finally picked this one back up and, it was a good choice - this is a good formula. I do think it works well, but it does have a slight white-cast, so I do prefer to use it at night.
Repurchase: Yes

Live Clean Exotic Nectar Argan Oil Leave-In Conditioner Spray ~ $7.49 CAN. Exotic Nectar Argan Oil Leave-in Conditioner Spray with certified organic grape seed and olive oils is a weightless leave-in treatment that seals in moisture to provide enhanced long-term conditioning, shine and UV protection.

I thought this was okay - I started and it was all right, but I found that I needed to use a lot of it to get it to detangle my hair, which is what I expect of a leave in conditioner. But, it weighed down my hair and just left it looking a little greasy. Also, for something that you needed to use a lot of, this took forever to get through (which is great I'm sure if you love the formula!) But, I just didn't enjoy it.
Repurchase: No

Lush Rudolph Jelly Face Mask ~ $9.95 CAN. This decadent jelly mask smells just like chocolate pudding and feels twice as sweet. Fuller's earth and rhassoul mud give skin a deep clean, while orange juice tones and brightens.

This mask was super cute and it smells like chocolate - you can see what it looks like on me here. This was an interesting texture - you have to take a bit out of the tub, rub it between your fingers, then apply it to your face. It is a bit of a messy process. Then, you wear it for about 10 minutes and rinse off. This was okay - left my skin a bit dry after, but clean and refreshed. I didn't really reach for it and it expired.
Repurchase: Probably not

May 2020 - Monthly Empties and Month in Masks

Nature Clean Kids Bubble Bath ~ $5.44 CAN. 98.3% Natural Kids Bubble Bath hypoallergenic parabens, sulphates and gluten free.

This smelled really good; but, it didn't really offer much in the bubble department and they disappeared really quickly. These just didn't do it.
Repurchase: No

Graydon Skincare Hand + Foot Relief ~ sample shown (full size is $19.96 CAN). Graydon Hand & Foot Relief has a long lasting, rich texture that is surprisingly non-oily. Infused with Graydon's invigorating Germs Away Aroma Blend, its aromatic fresh scent will refresh your skin while its antimicrobial action helps to kill topical germs.

This was a good hand lotion - it was nice and moisturizing on both hands and feet. Graydon has rebranded a little bit since and this has since been discontinued.
Repurchase: I can't

The Body Shop Mango Soap ~ $5.00 CAN. Wake up your shower with the fruity scent of mango. Work this vegetable based bar into a rich lather, for skin that feels thoroughly cleansed and soft.

I'm actually a little picky about my soaps and I tend to reach for handmade soaps now; but, I got this in an advent calendar and it was actually really good! I love the mango line and it smelled delicious!
Repurchase: Maybe

Softsoap Rich Shea Butter Moisturizing Hand Soap Refill ~ $6.48 CAN. The luminous and creamy formula is luxurious to the touch and caresses skin with a warm, comforting scent.

This is fine - just a big hand soap refill and it's a good handsoap.
Repurchase: Probably

BruBaker "Sweets For My Sweet" Bath Melts ~ $22.49 CAN. Pure essential oils provide a sensational smell and a perfect softness.

My husband picked these up for me and they smelled delicious and were really cute, but I didn't like them and really only used 3 out of the 6. They were sort of a bath melt but never really fully melted and what did melt just left a heavy layer of residue. Just not good
Repurchase: Noooo

May 2020 - Monthly Empties and Month in Masks

Radius Organic Children's Coconut Toothpaste ~ $12.29 CAN. Radius Organic Children’s Coconut Banana Toothpaste merges delicious ingredients straight from nature and is a refreshingly simple, low-foam toothpaste that is both safe and effective.

Elliott really liked this toothpaste, and I can see why - I had to try it out and it is delicious! I like that is organic and fluoride free as babies shouldn't have fluoride until they can spit out toothpaste! While this was good, we have switched to a fluoride toothpaste now that Elliott is old enough for it.
Repurchase: No

Listerine Floss ~ $2.79 CAN.

Alright, I know this isn't an exciting product, but seriously who finishes a floss?! I have been trying to be better at flossing and I'm actually managing to do it.
Repurchase: I have enough to last a life time

Clear Care Plus Cleaning and Disinfecting Solution ~ $19.97 CAN. Not only does CLEAR CARE® PLUS Cleaning and Disinfecting Solution clean and disinfect your contact lenses with the bubbling power of hydrogen peroxide, it also surrounds your lenses with long-lasting moisture.

This is a great contact solution - I switched to a hydrogen peroxide solution over a year ago (with only one mishap of not letting it rinse long enough). This is at least a 6 hour solution so you can't wear your contacts the next day unless you have enough time; but, it's great! Much better at cleaning than regular solutions!
Repurchase: Yes!

Marvis Aquatic Mint Toothpaste ~ $10.00 CAN. Marvis Aquatic Mint Toothpaste has a sweet and cool touch of mint with the cool freshness of the sea. Alum powder based, it polishes the teeth smoothly without being harmful for the enamel or the gums.

Ok, I love this toothpaste so much - it made my Best of Hair, Body & Accessory 2019 Discoveries! And you seriously realize how much you love something when you use something else and I'm using another kind while I'm waiting for this backup and I miss how fresh this leaves my breath! It's super cooling and refreshing and I like a lot of the flavours, but this is my favourite.
Repurchase: YES

Dove Clinical Original Clean Antiperspirant ~ $7.97 CAN.

This is pretty good - again, I like the clinical protection and this one works (not as good as the Mitchum one I prefer, but that one is harder to find).
Repurchase: Probably

Joe Fresh Nail Polish Remover ~ $4.20 CAN.

This is fine - Joe Fresh used to have a different shaped bottle that was better - only had a small hole at the top that was way easier to dispense product from. But, this still did the trick. I do like this formula better than most others I have tried.
Repurchase: Yes

May 2020 - Monthly Empties and Month in Masks

Lush Snowman Dreaming Bath Bomb ~ $5.95 CAN. Then let the dreamy fragrance of cedarwood and lavender oil turn your holiday stress into perfect bliss. The land of nod is not far off now.

How cute is this little rainbow snowman?! This is just a nice little classic bath bomb with a soothing, warm scent - I love that this looks so bright and fun, but comes with a relaxing scent! It fizzed nicely and smelled so good!
Repurchase: It was seasonal, but I would!

Me! Bath Mystic Mermaid Bath Bomb ~ $4.99 CAN. Mystic Mermaid delivers serene blue colour and a soft aquatic scent. This bath bomb is formulated with a unique six oil blend to leave your skin feeling super soft!

This bath bomb smelled good and left my bath nice and blue - it fizzed super quick, but the fresh scent lingered!
Repurchase: Yes, I would

So, I used up 24 products in May - pretty good amount of makeup products this month and lots of body and essential products!

Here's a look at the masks I used in May:

May 2020 - Monthly Empties and Month in Masks

Miniso Collagen Eye Masks ~ $??

These masks worked well when I needed them - they ripped coming out of the package, but they helped smooth and brighten my under eyes.
Repurchase: Maybe

Peach Slices Firm Mask (not pictured!) ~ $2.49 US. Immediately helps firm and lift skin, this potent natural cotton sheet mask delivers a unique blend of natural anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits from pomegranate, nourishing honey, witch hazel and Vitamin D-rich mushrooms from Asia’s pristine mountains.

I've really liked the Peach Slices masks that I've tried and this one was good! It had lots of essence and wore for about 45 minutes but still with essence left to massage in!
Repurchase: Yes, I would

Sugu Bubble Sheet Mask ~ $3.49 CAN. The unique bubble formula creates a foam when it reacts on the skin, exfoliating away dead skin cells to provide the deepest cleanse possible.

This basically did nothing and didn't bubble up - then I realized it was discontinued and the brands pretty much disappeared and I can see why, because this didn't work well.
Repurchase: Wouldn't even if I could...

Patchology Moodpatch Perk Up Eye Gels ~ $25.00 CAN for 5 pairs. Jump start your mood in just ten minutes with Green Tea leaf-infused eye gels. Formulated with a power blend of de-puffing Green Tea, antioxidant Pine Leaf Extract, and brightening White Mulberry to give dull skin a boost.

I have been trying a few more Patchology eye masks and like them! They were a little slippery but they did work and I thought they approved the appearance of my under eyes!
Repurchase: I might, have more to use first

Peach Slices Shrink Pores Mask ~ $2.49 US. Exfoliating willow bark, soothing hinoki cypress, hydrating rose, brightening citrus, clarifying cinnamon and other natural ingredients combine to help firm skin and reduce the appearance of pores in this natural cotton sheet mask.

This was another good peach slices mask - I didn't like it as much as the brighten or some of the others, but I did think it worked well and it's hard to see full results as I was using it on a bad skin night. But, it did work okay.
Repurchase: Maybe

May 2020 - Monthly Empties and Month in Masks

SooAE Hemp Dreams Sheet Mask ~ $3.97 CAN on Walmart or $6.50 CAN on SooAE. This moisturizing essence sheet mask helps give skin a softer texture while delivering the nutrients of hemp seed oil.

I posted a full review of these masks here and you can check it out hereI really liked this mask - it came really well soaked in essence and fit well. It wore for 40 minutes on the face and had a light floral scent. My face was a little sticky, but fine because my skin was hydrated and soft the next morning!
Repurchase: Yes I would

SooAE Hemp Dreams Mud Mask ~ $3.97 CAN on Walmart or $6.50 CAN on SooAEExperience the purifying power of Kaolin plus the abundant nourishment of hemp see oil in one mask! This wash clarifies the skin while providing moisture at the same time.

This was a mud mask that dried down in about 15 minutes - it was a little difficult to rinse off, but no worse than any other mud mask. This had the same floral scent as the sheet mask and my skin was fine after, it was a little red after removing but wasn't uncomfortable or anything. The next morning my skin did look clean and smooth.
Repurchase: Maybe, mud masks aren't my favourite

So in May, I used a total of 31 products and I'm going to add up the totals of each category I'm using up to see how much I use up by the end of 2020, so these numbers are from the start of the year:

-Makeup: 29
-Skincare: 26
-Bath and Body: 18
-Haircare: 12
-Nails: 2
