For the month of June, the #CBBxManiMonday group decided to try something new for our theme and went with a Nail Art Roulette style of picking our themes! As a group, we picked 5 colour ideas - sunset, rainbow, pink, black & white, and neon and 5 themes - gradient, packaging inspired, matte, texture and minimalist. Then, we are each randomly picking numbers to create totally random pairings! And, what's really fun is we don't know what everyone else picked each week, so it's a surprise!
This is the final week of June, so my final picks were Black & White and Gradient! For this gradient I was feeling the checkered pattern and I'm so happy with how it turned out!
The products that I used for this week's Manicure are:
- OPI Infinite Shine Primer
- ORLY Instant Artist polish in Crisp White
- Pretty Woman Nail Polish in I Can't Deal
- ORLY Instant Artist polish in Jet Black
- ORLY Instant Artist polish in Silver
- Essie Gel Couture Top Coat
- skinny straight tape nail vinyls (not pictured)
I started with a base coat and let it dry well. Then using the striping tape, I placed two lines vertical and two intersecting horizontally.
I looked at my nails like there was 5 diagonal lines and starting with the bottom left, I started with the white polish and moving up to the next row, I created a light grey polish by mixing the grey and white polish. Then the middle row is the grey polish, and the next row up is a dark grey created by mixing the black and grey polishes. And, I finished with the top right corner with the black polish.
Then I removed the striping tape. With the silver nail art polish, I went over the empty space from the striping tape and I finished with top coat.
I like how this gradient turned out! And as always, make sure you check out Cosmetic Proof and Prairie Beauty Love to see which nail combinations they picked!
