Smashbox Drawn In. Decked Out. Shadow + Highlight Palette Set Review ~ Ablaze Cover Shot, Sultry Cover Shot & Pearl Spotlight Palettes!

'Tis the season for all the amazing beauty holiday sets! I'm not going to lie, in general I wasn't feeling a ton of brands holiday sets - I find them to be a little repetitive and this year there wasn't a lot that jumped out at me!

Insert the exception - Smashbox! This Drawn In. Decked Out. Shadow + Highlight Palette set looked amazing! I had been eyeing the Smashbox Ablaze Cover Shot palette for a while and it was sold out for so long that it slipped my mind for a while! But, then I saw it in this set and had to have it! In addition to including 3 beautiful palettes (1 limited edition and exclusive to this set) it was a fantastic deal!

Smashbox Drawn In. Decked Out. Shadow + Highlight Palette Set Review ~ $48.00 CAN. This set of palettes brings you three highlight shades and 16 on-trend eye shadow shades. It’s everything you need to create makeup looks that range from holiday parties to everyday chic.

Now, this may be a little repetitive for some people - if you already jumped on the Ablaze bandwagon, or purchased the Spotlight Pearl highlight palette when it was released, then you might not be thrilled with this set. But, for me it is not because all 3 of these are new to me! The Ablaze Cover Shot palette is absolutely gorgeous - just what I expected! The Sultry Cover Shot palette is really pretty as well. Plus, I'm a fan of he highlight shades - they certainly won't work for all skin shades; but, they work well for me.

Each of the eyeshadow palettes are $35.00 each and based on weight value of the original Spotlight palette, I value this mini at $22.66 so I'm valuing this set at $92.22, where Smashbox values it around $83.00. Not a big difference. But, also this is the only set that the Sultry palette is available in!

The packaging of these are really unique too - like holograms where the eyes and diamonds move around! They were designed by Ana Strumpf and I think they are so cute!

Here is a closer look at all 3 palettes:

Smashbox Cover Shot Ablaze PaletteWith shades in rich red clay and hot terra cotta, this palette captures the warmth of the desert in a range of sun-drenched shades—these dimensional pigments are perfect for adding depth and contouring.

These shadows are gorgeous! I'm always drawn to the really warm bronze orangey brown shadows as I find they work well on my blue eyes. They always remind me of sunset shades which make the prettiest shadow looks!

I love these shadows so much - I see myself reaching for this palette a lot! Relaxed, Moccasin and Torch are just stunning! I find the 2 mattes Torch and Dark Horse to be a little patchy in swatching, but not so bad that I think there would ever be a problem with them blending out! Overall, the texture is great on these shadows.

Smashbox Cover Shot Sultry PaletteSultry Palette shades are wearable and universally flattering.

I find I don't often reach for these cool toned, grey taupes but along with the purples in this palette, they are so gorgeous! I like this palette!

I find these shadows to be a touch more powdery than the Ablaze palette, but I still think the texture is fairly good. I absolutely love Bordeaux and Platinum - they are just gorgeous! Again, you can see the 2 darker mattes didn't swatch as well but I think they will wear fine!

Smashbox Travel Size Spotlight Pearl PaletteAn easy-to-use highlighting palette to customize your ultimate glow, add dimension, and let features pop with layers of light.

The pearl palette is designed for fair to light skin tones (there is a deeper Spotlight palette; but, unfortunately in this set there is not another option). I consider myself to have light-medium skin and these look quite wearable for me.

Whoa - Turn It On is crazy pigmented! This will be one to apply with a light hand! I really like Crank It Up is my favorite - I think this is perfect for every day wear! I'm not a huge fan of Blow A Fuse though - it has really big glitter pieces in it and is just too glittery for my taste!

I can't rave about this Whole Drawn In. Decked Out. set enough! I'm really happy with all 3 palettes; but, especially the 2 eyeshadow palettes! This was an amazing value and if you spot it at a store, I would highly recommend you scoop it up!
