Matte red lips, products to brighten the eyes and a bold blush is the perfect start for every Holiday make up look!
I have tried a few skincare products from Rodial and I love their branding - they have great, result driven products that use unique ingredients such as Dragon's Blood, Bee Venom, Super Acids, Stem Cell, Snake, etc! If you are interested in seeing my past thoughts on some of their skincare, then you can see them here!
After trying Rodial's skincare products, I was excited to try out their makeup products! The Rodial makeup is described as the "ultimate sculpting makeup collection designed to enhance natural beauty for a flawless, professional-looking finish."
Rodial Suede Lips in Rodeo Drive ~ $30.00 CAN/$26.00 US/£22.00. Saturate your lips with intense pigmented colour with an on-trend matte finish with our Suede Lip jumbo crayon. The long-lasting, non-drying formula is enriched with Vitamin E and has a creamy texture, allowing colour to glide on effortlessly for smooth looking lips with a pop of colour.
The shade Melrose Ave is described as being inspired by the person who likes to add a statement lip to a classic look - Rodeo Drive is a rich, orange red that is perfect for glamming up any look!
I really like the orange red of this lip pencil - I wasn't sure if it would work on my skintone; but, it is perfect for my holiday go-to red lip! I like that it is a little unconventional than the typical red that everyone reaches for around the holidays!
I like the suede lips formula - it does finish matte without being drying at all on the lips. It did take two layers to get full coverage on my lips! I do like the big lip pencil overall as it's quick to cover everywhere, the only thing is next use I will sharpen the tip just a little bit more just to help get a really neat line all around! I also think this is a great base product if you wanted to layer a gloss or topper over it!
Rodial Blusher in Copacabana ~ $38.00 CAN/$35.00 US/£30.00. Beautiful colour pop powder with a smooth, creamy feel for a velvety finish. The formula offers a buildable veil of colour for an instant healthy glow with soft-focus effect and has oil absorption ability for excess sebum control.
Copacabana is described as a bright, coral peach shade! This isn't normally what comes to mind when I think of "holiday" blushes - I tend to reach for corals in the Spring; but, this shade actually looks great with the orange red lip and glittery eye!
This blush is very pigmented! I actually mixed this a touch with setting powder just to help it blend in a little bit on my skin and I love the finish of this blush! I can tend to stick to the basic pink blush shade all the time; but, I am loving this blush - it gives that perfect in from the cold cheek glow! The finish is really nice on the cheeks and it lasted all day on me and still looked good at the end of the night!
Rodial Glamolash Mascara - Skinny ~ $29.00 CAN/$28.00 US/£24.00. Lengthen, separate and lift eyelashes with this matte, dry formula mascara. With a soft black pigment and short, finely packed bristles, this will give a lengthened natural flutter to eyelashes with long-lasting hold for a wide eyed look.
This is meant to give a "natural flutter" to the lashes - this has short bristles to really lengthen the lashes for a wide eyed look!
While I tend to reach for fluffier brushes, I actually really like this applicator. I think these are still "fluffy" bristles while being compact - they are really dense and this will get to all your lashes and still be easy to use on your lower lashes as well!
This is top and bottom lashes before and after with 1 coat of the Glamolash Skinny Mascara! I liked the results - my lashes weren't clumpy and were lengthened and separated and I think it delivered on the wide eyed look that was promised!
Rodial Instaglam Magic Pen Eye Glow ~ $26.00 US. Fake a good night's sleep with a touch of magic light for instant luminosity, erasing signs of fatigue. The pearlescent, creamy texture is perfectly blendable for a bright-eyed look.
It is suggested to use this on the inner and outer corners of the eye and blend as desired - I used this on my inner corners and smudged it out a little bit on my lower lash line. I also used this on my inner crease to help pop the eyes in my final look!
I like the pearlescent finish this has - it makes the perfect inner corner highlight that makes any eye look pop! With a glam eye look, an inner corner highlight is a must have! This wasn't incredibly long wearing on my inner crease, but it didn't promise to be and the creamy formula makes more sense to apply to eye corners.
So I used the Rodial Blush in Copacabana on the cheeks, the Rodial Glamolash Mascara on the lashes, the Rodial Magic Eye Pencil on the inner corners of my eye and the Rodial Suede Lips in Rodeo Drive on the lips!
