September 2015 - Topbox Review

TopBox is a Canadian Beauty Box Subscription - for $12 CDN a month with free shipping, you will receive 4 deluxe sample size or full size products. You fill out a beauty profile and generally receive products based on what you have identified in the profile. Also, every month you have the option to wish for a "prive" box, which is a box that focuses on one brand or product for the whole box.

TopBox is a Canadian company and only ships to Canada. The only downside to subscribing to TopBox is that there is a wait-list that can take a month or two to get off of.

For September, I opted for the regular Topbox (and I picked a $10 add-on this month for the first time! Here's a look:

My first impressions are not the greatest with this box, but here is a closer look at the products:

Curl Keeper Leave-in Conditioner ~ sample size 30ml for $1.56 (full size is 1000ml for $52). Smoothes rough cuticles that cause frizzy flyaway hair with no product build up leaving your curls feeling clean, shiny and soft.

I don't have curly hair, so this isn't a product for me! As I am typing this is already being swapped.

Colorsmash Hair Shadow in "Electric Beat" ~ full size $13.00. COLORSMASH hair shadow adds temporary color for luscious locks with ease.

So in our survey, they asked if we wanted to try hair chalk. I said no, but I managed to get this anyways. I have almost black hair so I'm not really excited to try this. I will be swapping this.

Ciate Paint Pot - Speed Dial #008 ~ full size $15.00. An extremely juicy orange. Wear two coats to induce a sunny smile every time you catch a glimpse of your nails.

I LOVE this brand of nail polish, but because I have gotten ciate nail polish advent calender for the past 2 years, I already own this color! Luckily, I found a swapper who wanted this color!

Nova Scotia Fisherman Rescue Balm ~ sample size 0.35oz for $4.18 (full size is 1oz for $11.95). The largest organ of the human body, our skin, absorbs everything it comes into contact with. Water, sunlight, oxygen and the products we use. Our all-natural Rescue Balm is made with raw ingredients nurtured by the sun and sourced as close to the Earth as possible. Soothe and relieve irritated skin with Chamomile, Nova Scotia Sea Kelp and Aloe extract.

This is quite a small sample size, but it is the only product out of this bag that I will use.

*I have to say (since I don't subscribe to Luxebox any longer), since Topbox bought out Luxebox a few months ago - i you were a subscriber to both, you would realize that quite a few of these products were also featured in the Fall Luxebox. It would be my suggestion to only pick one and decide if you would prefer a quarterly or monthly subscription!

Topbox came with 4 products (2 full sized) with a total value of $33.74. While the value of this box is decent, none of the products are really for me. Overall, I was disappointed in the products this month.

Here is a look at my $10 add on:

Philosophy Purity Made Simple Foaming 3-in-1 Cleansing Gel for Face and Eyes ~ full size for $28.00. Give skin a fresh start with purity made simple foaming 3-in-1 cleansing gel for face and eyes. a fresh-foaming, deep clean leaves skin feeling refreshed.

YES! Something I will use - I know i have 100 face washes right now, but I am always happy to get more! I look forwards to trying this - great $10 add-on!
