I'm keeping up my Monthly Makeup Baskets for 2020 because I really enjoyed that they helped me shop my stash and allowed me to use and love everything in my collection! I always like to remember the older products and not let them get pushed aside when I get something shiny and new!
The products I'm using in January are:
- Shiseido Luminizing Satin Face Color in "RD103 Petal" - A super underrated blush in my collection - it was something I received in a past subscription box and clearly I've use it a lot (you can see it in a look on me here!)
- Natasha Denona Mini Blush and Glow - I love this pretty little duo since last Summer and it's beautiful shades - you can see a full review on it here! I'm travelling this month too so this will be great to bring along with us!
- Jaclyn Cosmetics Accent Light Palette - The Flash ~ yes, I did ask my husband to get me this palette for Christmas and I'm very excited to use this all month and hopefully share my thoughts later this month on it!
- Morphe Mini Blush in Spirit ~ I got this in a past Ipsy bag and ended up loving it last May when I used it for another Monthly Makeup Basket! It's a really pretty shade and perfect for a Winter month!
I'm excited to use all of these for the whole month!
TWO
I almost forgot to share my December Scratch Monthly Mani Kit! I got my December 2019 Scratch Monthly Mani Kit and it is super cute! This is an easy, affordable subscription that features nail wraps from GoScrachIt that are exclusive to the kit each month and designed by NinaNailedIt!
The Scratch Monthly Mani Kit was $10.00 US + $4.95 for international shipping; but, just changed for January to $18.00 US monthly with free shipping everywhere! Each month you get an exclusive set of wraps that aren't available for purchase and a few extra little mani goodies!
This month's subscription came with:
- Wonderland nail wraps
- holographic diamond accents
I have to say, these nail wraps are easily my favourite nail wraps to use - I have tried quite a few wraps and nothing compares! You can see past reviews and nail looks on Scratch wraps here if you are interested! These ones are really pretty!
Let's talk GOALS! I'm not usually one for resolutions, but I do sometimes like to set goals for the year, especially with the blog and my beauty usage.
Before, I dive in to 2020, did I meet my 2019 Goals? I set:
-stick to my $100 a mont budget (No, this did not happen - maybe only 1 or 2 months)
-try new brands (Sort of - I certainly tried some brands like Physician's Formula, Besame, Suva Beauty; but, I did really stick to some regulars - ColourPop, Too Faced, Urban Decay, Natasha Denona, etc.)
-create a shop my stash at least once a month (Yes, every month plus a monthly makeup basket post too!)
-be more conscious about what I purchase, and don't give in to every hype (Yes and no - I gave in to some hypes - but didn't go crazy).
-maybe film a video (this one's a total stretch and I've said it before; but, I'm not sure I'm ready for the video world!) (Nope and I don't think it will happen)
So, my goals for 2020 will actually look similar:
-STICK to a $100 a month budget and be thoughtful about purchases!
-Use my collection - shop my stash, project pans, and monthly makeup baskets!
-Don't but products I don't need - I have so many bath bombs, masks, primers, and lipsticks so unless something really standouts out in these categories I should hold off until I use more up!
-Try new brands and more indie brands! And I have a little list of brands I would like to try: Clionadh Cosmetics, Kaleidos Cosmetics, Devinah Cosmetics, Nabla Cosmetics, Inglot, Sydney Grace Cosmetics, Krave Beauty, Sweetchef Skincare, H&M Beauty, and Glossier!
FOUR
I did a big collection Declutter the other week! I passed on some products that weren't being used or enjoyed - some singles, some palettes, some blushes, highlighters, and lip products. Then, I passed on some skincare products that were expired in my collection.
FIVE
And, here is a look at the last palettes of the week from 2019 - The Dominique Cosmetics Celestial Thunder palette - you can see a look with this palette here. And, then I used the Violet Voss Essentials palette - you can see the palette swatched here (also, I did end up passing on this palette only because the formula wasn't outstanding for me and the colours were all repeats in my collection!) Then I used The ColourPop Disney Villains palette - I have been meaning to review this for a while, but you can see a look with this palette here! Then, I used this pretty new Storybook Cosmetics Little Briar Rose palette that I just picked up - I will be reviewing it soon!
I hope you all have a great weekend! Also, I'm planning on posting every day for the whole month of January to help me get back in to the routine of posting regularly, so I will have some pre-written posts up while I'm away!
