How amazing did these Stained Glass nails turn out?! I'm rather obsessed with them and love how they turned out! I also wanted to stick to a blue theme because I wanted to represent the Pantone Colour of the Year for 2020 - Classic Blue! (This is a little on the lighter side of classic blue, but this is what I have in my collection!)
The #CBBxManiMonday theme for the month is "experiments" so look out for lots of fun, new nails! These Stained Glass were totally an experiment, because I've never hand-painted anything like this! I love how these turned out and I hope this means a good year of nail art ahead!
The products I used for this week's Mani are:
- OPI Infinite Shime Primer
- Sally Hansen polish in White On
- ORLY Instant Artist in Jet Black
- Essie Take The Lead polish
- Essence Out of Space Stories nail polish in Mermaid of the Galaxy
- Charlotte Russe Blue Nail Art polish
- Moyra Top Coat for Nail Stamping
In addition, I used a little tiny nail art brush for the little details.
For the stained glass nails, I started with nail cleanser, base coat, and one coat of white polish as a base coat. Then, using the black nail art polish (or a black polish with a long skinny nail art brush) and just randomly painted all different shades all over the nail. Then, using a couple different blue shades (or any colours you like) and a little nail brush, fill in different shapes all over the nail and leave a few white. There is no need to be perfect, because once all the blue is in the shapes, take the black nail art brush and retrace any lines that got paint on them.
I did this on a 3 different nails (middle, ring and thumb), so then I used 2 complimentary blue polishes on the pointer and pinkie fingers.
I'm really happy with how my first nails of 2020 turned out! Make sure you check out the other #CBBxManiMonday manis - Cosmetic Proof, Prairie Beauty Love, and Tea & Nail Polish to see their nail experiments too!
Stunning mani, I really like it :-D
