I was even more excited when I received a few products as PR samples, so I took the opportunity to purchase the rest of the products to do a full look using their products (except powder - I totally forgot a powder).
Catrice is a German makeup brand that was created by a group of women on a mission to create luxury inspired makeup at excellent prices! And, I can vouch that I think they are good drugstore prices - they are certainly mid-range prices (not the highest or lowest prices, which makes them a good option!)
Catrice Prime and Fine Pore Refining Anti-Shine Base ~ $9.99 CAN. High performance! The Catrice Prime & Fine Pore Refining Anti-Shine Base minimizes unwanted shine and visibly refines your pores. The ultra-light formula also improves the durability of foundation making it the perfect primer for all day wear.
I thought this was a good formula for a primer - it was actually creamier for a matte primer than I normally see, which made it more comfortable on the skin that a typical matte primer. It wore nicely.
Catrice Prime And Fine Dewy Glow Fixing Spray ~ $9.99 CAN. The Catrice Prime And Fine Dewy Glow Finish Spray is lightweight, fast-drying, and provides a fresh, dewy glow.
This is definitely a dewy setting spray - it actually has some shimmer at the bottom, so it really needs to be shaken well! It has a bit of an aggressive mist so hold it far away; but, this worked well to set my makeup, and it smells really nice!
Catrice HD Liquid Coverage Foundation in 030 Sand Beige ~ $13.99 CAN. Catrice's HD Liquid Coverage Foundation is an ultra-lightweight, high coverage foundation for a natural looking finish.
This was a really liquidy foundation formula (hence the name) and comes with a dropper formula. I thought this offered a medium full coverage finish (it did cover redness, but didn't look cakey or thick on the skin at all). I thought it applied decent with a brush (but I think really thin formulas can look at tad streaky), but this was a pretty flawless finish when applied with a beauty blender sponge. I actually thought it oxidized a little more with a brush if that's possible. It dried down really quickly too and didn't feel tacky at all on skin (so even though I forgot a powder, I actually didn't need one). I thought the finish was nice (I tried it with multiple powders too and thought it could look a little dry when fully set with a loose powder, but overall it looked really good!)
Catrice Liquid Camouflage High Coverage Concealer in 001 Fair Ivory ~ $7.99 CAN. Dark circles, imperfections and redness are now a thing of the past - the Catrice Liquid Camouflage Concealer offers optimal coverage without drying out the skin. This liquid concealer is highly-pigmented, waterproof and lasts for hours. Easy to use with a doe-foot applicator.
This is certainly the most hyped up product so I was excited to try it out. It is a full coverage formula so a little goes a long way! I thought this blended out really nicely (and the shade is a little too light for me and it blended in so well, you couldn't tell!) I haven't had great luck with full coverage concealer formulas lately, so I did think this offered coverage and had a light-weight enough formula that it did cake up or look too heavy. This does have a floral scent, but I honestly didn't notice until I heard someone mention it in a video and when I used it again, I noticed it (but they mentioned that they thought it was really strong!)
Here is a look at the foundation and concealer swatched and blended out on my arm - I was happy with both of these formulas!
Catrice x Eman Blush Palette ~ $14.99 CAN. EMAN teams up with CATRICE to create the cheekiest blush palette with 4 universal blushes shades to work on all skin tones. The buildable powder formula feels soft and buttery.
This palette comes with four blush shades that are meant to be flattering on all skin tones. The palette also has blushes in 2 different finishes - it has 3 matte and 1 pearly finish. The formula is meant to be buildable. I thought the formula was good - it was actually a really pigmented formula as opposed to being buildable!
Catrice x Eman Highlighter Palette ~ $14.99 CAN. EMAN teams up with CATRICE to create a lit highlighter palette with 4 shades that range from light to dark to cover all skin tones. Formulated with a creamy-soft powder texture for easy blending to create an instant glow that lasts for hours.
I thought the palette had quite the range of highlighters - chances are they won't work on everyone's skin tone (the lightest may be too light or the darkest one may be too dark). But, if you can use 3, you could always use them as eyeshadows too. I think the formula is really nice - shimmery but not glittery with a good finish.
Here are the blush and highlighter palettes swatched on me. The blushes were pretty - I was hoping the deepest one could be a bronzer on me, but the formula just didn't work. The blushes were all pretty though and I the look I did actually has me mixing the shades and this worked well. The highlighters are pretty and the three lightest shades will work for me!
Catrice Generation Plump and Shine Lip Gloss in Shimmery Goldstone ~ $7.99 CAN. Visibly fuller lips and a high-gloss finish, CATRICE's Generation Plump & Shine Lip Gloss has a creamy, non-sticky texture with pearl shine-effects.
This was a pretty good lip gloss formula - it wasn't sticky so it was comfortable to wear and I think this is a good shade. This is a thicker lipgloss formula so you could feel it on your lips but it wore well.
Here is a the lip gloss swatched on me - it does have a subtle hint of shimmer in and looks really pretty on.
Catrice x Eman Eyeshadow palette ~ $14.99 CAN. EMAN teams up with CATRICE to create a bronzed AF eyeshadow palette with 9 longlasting, highly pigmented neutral shades to fit all skin tones. The rich powder formula blends easily and doesn't crease. Create natural to dramatic looks with matte to pearl finishes.
When I get a collection I'm always most excited to try the eyeshadow palette! This one is really pretty - bronzed and neutral, but still has some variation in it (I like that it has some pinks and deeper purples so it's not just a brown palette).
Overall, I thought these shadows were pretty good for the first couple of times I've tried it (I still need to play with it a little more). But, the formulas were good - the mattes blended well and applied really nicely. The shimmers were a little dry to the touch, but still applied nicely and wore well. And, the shadows were long lasting - wore really nicely all day! I'm quite impressed with this palette.
Here is a look at the Catrice x Eman eyeshadow palette swatched on me (and good for me - I totally missed swatching the middle shade Laguna but I can vouch that it's really nice because I used in my eyeshadow look!) I think the pigmentation is great on these!
Catrice Slim'Matic Ultra Precise Brow Waterproof Pencil ~ $7.99 CAN. The CATRICE Slim'Matic Ultra Precise Brow Pencil with an accurate tip creates precise, hair-like strokes. Dual ended, ultra-slim retractable pencil.
I'm always curious to try new brow pencils and I love that this one is waterproof - makes it great for hot weather wear and I always like a little added insurance knowing the brows are going to stay on! This was a very creamy formula - I'm used to working with a little stiffer of a formula, but I did think this applied really easily!
Catrice Eye Liner Pen Waterproof ~ $7.99 CAN. The Catrice Waterproof Eye Liner Pen's fine felt tip creates subtle and dramatic eye looks. The rich, waterproof formula dries quickly and lasts for hours without smudging.
I'm always looking for affordable liquid eye liners - I personally wear them every single day. I like a felt tip, but a flexible one personally over a full brush tip. This one is a felt tip; but, its actually quite a stiff tip and doesn't move at all - it's all a little short so it's not the easiest tip for me to use personally. This is a very pigmented formula and I do love that it's waterproof so it's very long-wearing!
Catrice Rock Couture Extreme Volume Mascara ~ $9.99 CAN. Catrice's Rock Couture Extreme Volume Mascara is a deep black mascara for extreme volume, length and curl that lasts all day long.
Of all the products, this may have been the one that worked for me the least and I think it's only because I'm quite picky about my mascara formulas! And, it's not bad I think the formula is fine - it is a little too wet for me (I prefer a dry formula), so I found this made my lashes stick together a little bit. And, I also prefer a really full, natural bristle brush and this one is these super small pokey bristles. But, this was okay - it was lengthening and I think it would work best when paired up with another formula!
Here is a close-up of all the eye products - the brow pencil, eyeshadow palette, liner, and mascara. I was really happy with the shadows and liked how everything looked on!
And here's the finished look with the foundation, concealer, blush, highlighter and lip gloss on too! Overall, I'm really happy with how all these applied and looked! The foundation and concealer were really good, the blush palette and highlight palette looked really nice on and wore well and the lip gloss was really pretty!
Have you guys tried Catrice products yet? Any recommendations?
