Monthly Beauty and Book Haul ~ October 2023

Last year I set a monthly beauty and books budget at $200 per month and I really stuck to it! I am trying to be thoughtful in my purchases, so this has been holding me accountable for being reasonable with my spending. Since it worked so well last year, I'm really trying to do the same thing this year!

I do always love my Monthly Haul posts - it's a good way to keep track of everything that I picked up each month. I don't always blog about everything I pick up (I try to), but if you ever spot anything in here that you really want me to talk about, let me know!

I purchased everything in this post

Shoppers Drug Mart Haul ~ $10.25 CAN. I always love doing a big Shoppers Haul and using all my Optimum points (regular price of this was $124.05 CAN) - I heard great things about the Fructis watermelon line. I needed more NYX Banana Powder and the ELF Setting Spray is a good staple (although, I'm not sure the Blue Light thing is necessary). The Chanel lip and cheek balm is lovely - you can see it on me here! And, I picked up another Maybelline Vinyl Lipstick - can't wait to share it with you soon!

Indigo Haul ~ $65.46 CAN. I had a little discount so I picked up a couple of books that I've been eyeing for a while - I'm excited for all of these (I have read Moon of the Crusted Snow before and really enjoyed it), and the rest are all perfectly spooky for the month!

The Halloween Tree ~ $7.59 CAN. I was looking for some Halloween classics this year, so I had to pick up some classic Ray Bradbury - I've only read a couple short stories, but they are all weird and little dark! I did finish this book this month, so it will be up on my Monthly Reads soon!

Cheekbone Beauty Order ~ $78.75 CAN. I was so excited to put in another Cheekbone order - I have the Multi-Pencil and love it, so that was a repurchase. The the new product they just released was this Courage Cream Duo in Biskane for their Scholarship program and it's lovely. Plus I tried the Harmony Lipgloss in Sweetgrass - you can see both of these products on me here.

Indigo Pre-order ~ $24.57 CAN. I was so excited for a new V.E. Schwab book - this is a follow up to the Darker Shade of Magic series and I'm so exited for this. (I'm listening to it right now and it's so good!!)

Indigo Pre-order #2 ~ $21.25 CAN. Another pre-order this month was A Curse for True Love by Stephanie Garber - this is third book in the Once Upon a Broken Heart series that I've really enjoyed! It's perfect YA Fantasy!

ELF Order ~ $8.00 CAN. ELF just released these Glow Reviver Lip Oil and of course I had to pick one up! The Lash and Brow serum was a freebie, so I'm excited to try the lip oil!

Indigo Pre-order #3 ~ $18.34 CAN. Yes, I pre-ordered this, and I've already listened to this! Britney is so brave for this book and it is everything I wanted it to be and hope it has brought her some peace in sharing her story finally. Full thoughts will be on my monthly reads wrap-up.

IPSY October Glam Bag ~ $25.06 CAN. Yes, who am I?! I decided to order an IPSY bag again (I know this also pushed me over my budget, but the November bag is being curated by Pat McGrath and I go excited for that so I ordered right away). I'm happy it's all makeup and not skincare, so I'm excited to give it a try again!)

This past month I spent $259.27 on beauty and makeup - it's the most I've probably spent this year in a month, which is fine, I would like to be closer to $200 though! I am going to use everything I've purchased so it's not a waste at all!
