July 2020 What I Bought - Monthly Haul!

I set one of my 2020 goals to be actually sticking to my $100 a month Beauty Budget - last year I attempted this and didn't do so well, so I'm actually trying to be a little more strict on myself! I really want to make sure that I can use and enjoy the products I have in my collection and that I will really use the products I picked up!

I always love my Monthly Haul posts to share with you everything I picked up (since I can't review everything I buy)! I also am trying to hold myself a little more accountable to buying products that I really want and will actually use!

July 2020 What I Bought - Monthly Haul!
I purchased everything in this post

Soo AE Haul ~ $47.28 CAN. I was really excited when I saw that Soo AE came out with a line of Hanbang masks, because I've used them from other brands and really enjoyed them! Soo AE is such an accessible k-beauty brand, so I love seeing these ingredients expanded to more brands! I also loved the look of the fruit line and a wine mask! The Glacier mask was added in as a freebie!

July 2020 What I Bought - Monthly Haul!

The Potions Masters Mask ~ $19.10 CAN (was $44.10 CAN - I had a $25.00 coupon). I was really excited when The Potions Masters (a local Calgary company I bought some lovely bath products from already) release face masks earlier this month! I also won a coupon from them, so I saved it for the release! I picked the Nourishment mask and can't wait to use it!

July 2020 What I Bought - Monthly Haul!

Superstore Essential Pickup ~ $4.18 CAN. I picked this up thinking I needed dry shampoo and I forgot that I just received one, so I now have a few backups. I like the Herbal Essences naked formula and I can't remember if I've tried this one or not!

July 2020 What I Bought - Monthly Haul!

Shoppers Drug Mart Haul ~ $8.49 CAN. This was mainly an essentials order - when I have a good stockpile of PC Optimum points and they have the "Spend Your Points Events" then I go to town so that I don't have to spend to much - I picked up my usual Bioderma micellar water, Neutrogena wipes, Joe Fresh pads, Klorane dry shampoo, Indeed Labs cleansing balm and nail polish remover. The Bioderma compact was a freebie and the Indeed Mist was something I really wanted to try!

July 2020 What I Bought - Monthly Haul!

Lush Kitchen Subscription Box ~ $93.37 CAN. This is a new subscription and I've only gotten the May box and was quite sad that I mixed the June box, so I made sure to get the July box! You always pay for this subscription at the start of the month and it ships at the end, so I haven't received it yet!

July 2020 What I Bought - Monthly Haul!

CosRX Pimple Patches ~ $0.00 CAN (was $13.50 CAN). I consider these as a restock item, because I always need pimple patches! I've tried a few other brands and I just do not think any thing else holds up to the Cosrx ones! I actually ordered a two-pack and got a third one as a bonus (or a mistake, but I take it as a bonus!)

July 2020 What I Bought - Monthly Haul!

MarySoapBar Handmade Soap ~ $0.00 CAN (regularly $22.00 CAN). I also don't consider towards my budget because I was on my last bar of soap. I found these soaps at a local farmer's market and they were made close by Calgary and are so pretty!

So, I spent $172.42 for the month July - this is a little bit more than I budgeted for each month. Also, I started the month with only $23.23 left in my July budget, so clearly I've gone way over this month's budget and used up all of my August budget. I'm certainly supposed to be more thoughtful about my purchases, but clearly I've bought some pretty frivolous masks and stuff! I need to make sure I use them all soon!

  1. I am being more mindful of my spending as well, but after not spending anything during Quarantine, I have been happily shopping and don't think I could keep to under $100...Right now I'm doing around $500 which sounds crazy when I look at it.

I should take advantage of the SDM Spend Your Points events because I have almost 300K points LOL! I did one redemption in March before lockdown and haven't done one since.

    1. Omg, I wish I could save that many points!!! I'm slowly slipping back to spending more - I don't need to spend under $100 so I should stop torturing myself lol
