Manicure Monday - Shark Week Nails

duunnn dun... duuuunnnn duun... duuunnnnnnnn dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dunnnnnnnnnnn dunnnn... it's Shark Week again! And, I've chatted a few times on here about it (I typically do some annual nails for the occasion!)

I'm actually both terrified and totally intrigued by sharks - I would 100% go in a cage to see them; but, when I was snorkelling in open water I was totally afraid to see one on my own! But, I actually really want to plan a trip to see whale sharks!

We are still keeping up the Summer Lingo theme for August so I picked Tropical/Beach for this week's theme to incorporate my sharks! I also did something a little different than I've done before and added in a bitten surf board and a life preserver! Also, I've almost forgotten than Classic Blue is the Pantone Colour of the Year and this fits in that perfectly too!

The products that I used for this week's mani are:

For this week's mani I started with base coat and two coats of blue polish as the base. For the pointer finger, I used the grey polish to create the shark head shape (close to a triangle just using the polish brush). Then I created the same shape with the red nail art polish. Then I used the white nail art polish to freehand teeth. Then, I used the black polish and a dotting tool and dotted on the eyes. Then on the ring finger, I did the same thing, except I created a hammerhead shark and just used the grey polish to create the hammerhead shape!

For the pinky finger, I used the white nail art polish to create a white ring, then using the red nail art polish I created the stripes for the life preserver. Then for the middle finger I freehanded the surf board shape with a bite mark out. Then, using the white and red polish, I created a striped look! I finished everything off with the nail art top coat!

I think these turned out really cute and will be fun eating Summer treats with these on my nails! And as always, make sure you check out Cosmetic Proof and Prairie Beauty Love to see their Summer nails!

    1. It was so perfect - I rarely reach for a blue polish, but this worked out so well for this mani!
