My Fall Transition Skincare Products

I always switch up my skincare products for each season - I maintain the same basic routine and steps; but, my combination skin can lead a little more dry in the Fall evenings and often is still a little oily during the day.

On top of my skin's fluctuation, Calgary's weather is crazy in the Fall too - we can jump over 20 degrees in a day with cold evenings as well as chinook warmings. So, it can throw my skin in to a bit of a tailspin, so it's nice to have some solid products in the routine for the craziness!

These are just a few of the products that have helped with the seasonal transition:

Blume Stargirl Mist

Blume Stargirl Face Mist ~ $32.00 CAN. Our new face mist is totally out of this world! The invigorating ingredients work to wake you up and get you going, whether you’re wearing makeup or not.

This mist is made for all skin types, but is said to be good for keeping acne at bay by keeping skin hydrating and nourished! I think this mist keeps my skin refreshed and bright (I use this after toner, before serums morning and night!) but, this is fine to use at any time or over makeup too if you wanted a refresh during the day.

This mist has aloe juice to hydrate and calm, witch hazel to keep oil in check, rose water to balance skin tone, blue tansy to calm troubled skin, and peppermint to sooth and cool!

Fall Transition Skincare Products - Blume Mist

To use this mist, just wash face and you can apply this at any point in time of your skincare routine - you will have dewy skin any time you use this!

I'm excited to try more from Blume too - some of their products are newly available at Sephora too (and Urban Outfitters too!) Blume is a Canadian brand that was founded with the basis to de-stigmatize periods and create the next generation of confident, tenacious and conscious women. They started with organic tampons and pads, and have expanded their line of safe and effective self care and skin care products. Blume's products are vegan, cruelty free and non-toxic.

Kosmea Rosehip oil

Kosmea Rose Hip Oil ~ $30.75 CAN for 20ml (also available $16.95 CAN for 10ml and $55.95 CAN for 42ml). Rich in essential fatty acids, vitamins and antioxidants, this easily-absorbed oil is a real treat for the skin. Kosmea Certified Organic Rosehip Oil may help smooth wrinkles, even out skin tone, reduce the appearance of scars, moisturise and soothe dry skin, nourish and hydrate ageing skin, balance oily skin and reduce the appearance of blemishes.

This is certified organic rosehip oil and Kosmea says they are the original rosehip oil. This oil is packed with fatty acids, vitamins and antioxidants and it helps repair and regenerate skin and assists in the appearance of acne and wrinkles!

kosmea rosehip oil

This is a very nourishing and rich oil! I always incorporate an oil or serum in my routine and this is a nice, thick oil to include for this time of year! This is recommended to be massaged massaged in to damp skin (I personally used my mist to dampen my skin before my application!) This can be used on it's own and you will need a couple of drops to get every where, or I've really enjoy mixing 2 drops with other serums I'm using to add in the affect of rosehip oil in with my other serums! I personally use this in my nighttime skincare routine.

vichy mineral 89 eyes

Vichy Mineral 89 Eye Care ~ $34.95 CAN. Give your skin its daily boost of strength for a brighter look. Mineral89 Eyes is a non-greasy gel formula combining 89% Vichy Mineralizing Thermal Water with natural origin hyaluronic acid and pure caffeine to strengthen the skin’s barrier function.

I have to be honest that I totally neglected eye serum all Summer, and now that I turned 33 I feel like I'm paying for it a little bit - I certainly have some fine lines that are starting to show, so I knew I needed to re-incorporate an eye serum in to my routine!

I love the Vichy Mineral 89 booster and it's part of my daily routine, so I had a feeling that the eye serum was going to be good, and I was right! This is a really like, gentle serum that's soothing to the under eyes while hydrating and brightening dark under eye circles!

This product is easy to use - I apply one drop to my pinky, rub it together with my other pinky and taps this on the under. Vichy also recommends applying above the eye and massage it gently under the eye with rolling pressure to depuff the under eyes and smooth from the inner to out eye. I'm certainly trying to remember to use a roller as well in to my routine.

I also love that this is smooth and light enough that I can use this morning and night for added effects! I love the combination of vichy thermal water, hyaluronic acid and caffeine have worked wonders for my eyes and are perfect to combat the seasonal change and my new lines!

JR Watkins Lemon Cream Body Oil Mist

J.R. Watkins Lemon Cream Body Oil Mist ~ $10.49 CAN. This luxurious, quick-dry spray leaves your skin smooth, soft and nourished. The Apricot kernel oil and Vitamin E combine to hydrate your skin and lock in moisture.

If you are lemon fan, you need this in your life! This smells like baked lemon bars and it's delightful! I love to incorporate a body oil in to my routine typically for Fall and Winter when it's bitter cold and dry; but, this was a new brand to me! Body oils are just nice and nourishing and perfect for a quick application and feel like they keep your skin moisturized for a long time - I also love that this one is a spray bottle!

This is so easy to apply - I prefer to use this right after the shower! So I just get out of the shower, dry off quickly, spray this on and massage it in. Of course, you don't have to be right out of the shower, but I find it absorbs quickly and more effectively with damp skin!

Drunk Elephant BabyFacial

Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial ~ $80.00 US. Babyfacial is a pro-quality AHA/BHA “facial” that resurfaces to reveal greater clarity, improved skin texture and tone, and a more youthful radiance. Think of it as an extra nudge for stubborn, dull skin (in other words, it’ll knock your cells off).

I have to start by saying that sadly this isn't available to purchase in Canada - if you are interested in it, you will have to find a way to get in the US. I picked this up when we were in California last month on vacation!

But, this is an at-home facial that gently and effectively exfoliates the face and resurfaces by getting rid of built-up dead skin cells using a 25% AHA and 2% BHA blend (glycolic, tartaric, lactic, citric and salicylic acids) - this why it's not available in Canada! This also uses unique ingredients like chickpea flour, pumpkin ferment and matchatea, milk thistle and apples!

This is meant to be used on a weekly basis - apply an even layer to clean, dry skin. Leave on for 20 minutes and rinse thoroughly with water, then apply marula oil after for best results.

This certainly delivers on the resurfacing the skin and it works so well! It is a little tingly at first, and then rinses off easily. It leaves the skin "baby" smooth and refreshed. I was a little nervous about the level of acid, but I have been incorporating acids in to my routine for a while now, so it was great on my skin. It is a gentle and effective formula - this has easily become a weekly product in my routine and it really helps to clear everything out when my skin is up and down with the weather changes!

My Fall Transition Skincare Products
