Manicure Monday - Sunset Nail Art

Happy Manicure Monday everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend! If you saw my Five on Friday post you know I was waiting on my covid results, so it came back negative! Phew (even though we knew it would), and I was able to get out and go the Zoo since it just recently reopened!

For the month of June, the #CBBxManiMonday group decided to try something new for our theme and went with a Nail Art Roulette style of picking our themes! As a group, we picked 5 colour ideas -  sunset, rainbow, pink, black & white, and neon and 5 themes - gradient, packaging inspired, matte, texture and minimalist. Then, we are each randomly picking numbers to create totally random pairings! And, what's really fun is we don't know what everyone else picked each week, so it's a surprise!

For this week I picked Sunset and Texture and I actually think I did pretty good at sticking to my themes this week! I love the sunset colours and added the texture with the sponge I used as well as the glitter layer I added in too!

There was a lot of steps to these nails; but, I'm so happy with how they turned out! I started with a base coat and a single coat of white nail polish as a base and I applied the latex tape around the edges of my nails. Then, I painted on the polishes to the makeup sponge and dabbed them on to my nails and repeated until they the were opaque (probably about 3 times per nail). Then I added a textured layer with a layer of glitter polish. And I used the black nail art polishes to paint on a quick palm tree on the ring and middle finger and finished with a top coat!

I hope you all have a great week! As always, make sure you check out Cosmetic Proof and Prairie Beauty Love to see what nail art combinations they picked this week!
