Five on Friday - May 1, 2020

Happy Friday everyone! I'm so happy it's Friday - this week has just been a little blah. I've been feeling a little all over the place and I just couldn't get in to a good routine and I'm just feeling a little overwhelmed and extra anxious. I think it's because I worked from home last week and now I'm back to work, so it's just felt like a longer week! I'm hoping to have a good me-time night this weekend and just myself back on track.

ONE

I purchased everything in this post

I really contemplated not doing a Monthly Makeup Basket for May - we now have to wear masks every day at work, so I'm certainly wearing a lot less makeup. But, it felt a little like giving up and I do still like to wear a little bit of face makeup just to get myself ready in the morning! So instead, I decided to focus on the face products that I have in my Project Pan (I had originally been focusing on those in addition to my Monthly Makeup Basket), and an old favourite face palette that I know I will keep even if I get minimal use out of it.

The products I'm focusing on in May are:

  • Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection - this is the follow up collection from Champagne Pop and this was released in June 2016 (you can see my original post here) - I don't use this as often as I would like to as I reach less for face palettes, but I do like this!
  • Kevyn Aucoin The Celestial Highlighting Powder in CandleLight - I've been focusing on this highlighter in my project pan and have been doing well. But, this fell out of the pan a little while ago, so it's been slowly crumbling and it's in my collection for quite a few years!
  • Too Faced Cosmetics Sweet Peach Papa Don’t Peach Blush - I've also been working on this in my project pan and still have progress to make, so I've been using this blush lots lately and it's perfect for Spring!
As always, I'm looking forward to using these as much as I can this month!

TWO

And here are the products that I used for my April Monthly Makeup Basket - I always like to recap the products I used for the month:
  • Catrice x Eman Highlighter Palette - this is a newer highlighter palette in my collection, I just recently used it in a Full Face of Catrice and enjoyed using it this month - this is a nice formula!
  • Note Cosmetics Luminous Silk Compact Blusher in Desert Rose - this was a past favourite from January 2019 and I hadn't used it in a while - it's such a pretty blush and a good formula to use!
  • ColourPop Disney Designer Enchanted Mirror Pressed Powder Blush - this is such a great blush! I've been loving the Disney x ColourPop princess collections!
I really liked the products that I used this month.

THREE

I received my Spring Samplesource box this week and was able to get quite a few things in this season's freebie box - I got a Batiste dry shampoo mini and a pack of OB tampons, plus 3 different bars, a coffee pack a mini bistro bowl. I also get an oxi-clean, floor cleaner and cat treats sample! Plus, there was some coupons for freebies and money off of products. I'd say it was a pretty good round up of samples this season!

FOUR

Last weekend I managed to feel a little more normal and dyed my hair! My hairdresser was really sweet and made her clients these little packs so we could all keep our hair up while we can't go to her house and get our hair done! It had been a while since I've kept my hair up and I had to clean up my bangs a few weeks ago. I know it's frivolous but it's so nice to go to someone and have your hair done!

FIVE

Have I talked about Sobey's flowers before?! I went grocery shopping and picked up such a pretty bouquet with the perfect Spring blooms! These are so pretty and I really needed a little pick-me-up this week and I love having fresh flowers!

I hope you are all feeling good this week and hope everyone has a great weekend!
