Magical Self-Care Bath Night

I've talked a whole lot about self-care on here because I love to relax and take care of myself - I can have a pretty stressful job and crazy family stuff going on, so I have learned to take good care of myself! Self-care is different for everyone; but, these are the kinds of self-care that works for me!

I think with everything going on in the world right now, I'm not only looking for self-care; but, I'm also looking for a bit of an escape from reality! So, I've put together a few products that help with having a bit of an escape right in your own home!

My self-care typically involves a mask, candle, and book and some combination of these goodies - you can see a past cozy self-care post if you are interested in more ideas, if all of these aren't quite for you! My favourite self-care night is a bubble bath night, so here are a few products that I'm loving right now for a magical bath night!

Magical Self-Care Bath Night

Soothing Eye Masks ~ Masks are a go-to for me taking care of myself; but, if I plan on staying in the bath for a long time then I find full sheet masks a little harder to wear, so I like to pull out the eye masks for the bath! For a god escape, I'm using the Patchology MoodPatch Happy Place Eye Masks ($25.00 CAN for 5 pairs) because they are hibiscus infused eye masks that have a little aromatherapy blend to uplift your mood (plus they are soothing to the under eye) - and who doesn't need that right now?!

Relaxing Bath Salts ~ Epsom Salts are a must if you a taking a bath to relieve stress or sore muscles - as epsom salts are dissolved in to water, they release magnesium and sulphate ions in to the water, which help to relax the body and mind. I've used a ton of different kinds of Epsom Salts and all work to help de-stress, but recently I've splurged a little and treated myself to The Potion Masters Bath Spell in Peace ($40.00 CAN) because I've really been stressed and these bath nights are to make me feel better, so I deserve a little extra something to help me relax and these are more than just regular epsom salts!

A Magical Book ~ Books are one my favourite ways to escape reality - I'm a total bookworm and I'm not picky about book genres - I love to read everything; but, to help with an escape from our world, I will certainly reach for a fantasy book and get lost in a different world! I could recommend a ton of fantasy novel; but, Harry Potter is just such a perfect classic with a world I still want to be in, it is the time to dive in to the series (or another magical series you've been thinking about!)

These Potion Masters Bath Spells are pretty fantastic - they aren't only Epsom Salts, but are also made with Dead Sea Salt and Pink Himalayan Salt. Each different blend of salts is infused with an essential oil blend and finished with clays, flowers, teas and spices. The Peace Bath Spell is infused with avocado oil and cocoa butter, plus Lavender, Chamomile, Bergamot, Frankincense oils, and contains Rosemary and antioxidant rich Butterfly Pea Flowers! Also, these Bath Spells include a unique incantation to aid in manifesting your desires - so they are a little extra magical, which I love! The Peace Spell is all about making you feel relaxed, refreshed and comforted! And, I love that they are made right here in Calgary as well!

A Delicious Beverage ~ I love a drink in the bath - wine, tea, you name it, I will drink it. Let's be real, it's usually wine - I love a Rose or Light White; but, on some nights I will also opt for a relaxing caffeine-free tea. Tonight's drink of choice was a Strawberry Beer (the best Spring and Summer warm weather drink ever). But, the funnest part of this drink, is the magical Cara Kozik Mug ($14.99 US) - seriously, this mug adds to my magical bath atmosphere with some beautiful hand drawn Harry Potter scenes; they are lovely!

Magical Bath Bomb ~ I don't think it's excessive to use both bath salts and a bath bomb in the same bath (notice there is also bubble bath already ready to go in there - when it comes to bath, the more stuff in there, the better!) They all offer different purposes, so I will use them all. I love a good fizzy, scented bath bomb and is this Me! Bath Mystic Mermaid Bath Bomb ($4.99 CAN) not perfect to take you to a magical place?! It was really nicely scented and fizzed well!

Tropical Scented Candle ~ Since there isn't enough scents with bath salts and bath bombs in the bath, I also need a little more with a good candle! The Milk Jar Candle Co. Hawaii Candle ($30.00 CAN) is the perfect scent to help you escape to Hawaii from the comfort of your own home (and who isn't dreaming about planning their next trip right about now?!) Milk Jar is a local Calgary company and they use clean burning soy and made with with plant-based essential oils and phthalate-free fragrance oils so you can feel good about burning them. They come with wood wicks, so they crackle when they burn which adds to the ambience of a good escape from reality and is so soothing to listen to (They also have a recycling program and support local kid's charities, which is also magical!)

These Patchology Mood Patches were really nice eye gels with hibiscus flowers inside the eye masks and infused with aromatherapy to help take you to a happy place! I thought these eye patches were really soothing, hydrating, and brightening under the eyes. They were very comfortable and adhered and wore really well!
