I just received my April Owlcrate subscription and this month's theme is "Full Moon Magic". Each month the book Owlcrate includes is signed by the author and comes with a note from the author as well - they often have special edition covers just for the box, and they seem to include a lot of exclusive items just for Owlcrate, which is so fun! As a bookworm, I have been loving this subscription!
This month the items included in the box are:
This month the items included in the box are:
- Bone Criers Moon by Kathryn Purdie ~ this book sounds really interesting - Bone Criers use magic they draw from bones to shepherd the dead into the afterlife—lest they drain the light from the living. So, the main character, Ailesse, is about to complete a rite of passage by killing the boy she's destined to love, while Bastien is seeking revenge after his father was killed by a Bone Crier. So this book is all about star crossed lovers, dangerous magic and mythology! This book is signed, with a unique cover, sprayed edges and comes with a letter from the author!
- Notebook ~ this is such a pretty notebook with an Oscar Wilde quote designed by Kim Becker Designs - I love the black and white design on this!
- Crescent Moon Bracelet ~ The Owlcrate team designed this pretty little bracelet inspired by Winterwood (which I read recently and enjoyed!), but even if you haven't read it, it's just a dainty little moon and I really like it!
- Enamel Pin ~ each month's box comes with an enamel pin inspired by the book - this one is inspired by an owl in the book (and reminds me of Hedwig) and was created by White Wide Woods.
- Tote Bag ~ this tote bag was created by Unlucky Design and it is inspired by Shatter Me - I haven't even read this series, but I love this tote bag! I use these all the time and I love the design on it!
- Puzzle ~ this puzzle is created by @atalienart and it's a 300 piece puzzle of Remus Lupin - I love the design and I actually don't have any puzzles so I'm looking forward to doing this.
- Canvas Pouch and Bamboo Moon Phase Banner ~ I love that even this pouch has a lovely print on it and another Oscar Wilde quote - and inside this pouch is this cute little moon banner. I actually quite like it, I'm just not sure what I will do with it yet! (Both were designed by @paperbackbones).
If you are interested in signing up, Owlcrate is $29.99 US per month, plus shipping ($7.99 to the US, $9.99 to Canada, and $19.99 worldwide).
I know that this is a little expensive with conversion, but I'm a bookworm and I've really been loving the products they send and love some of the exclusive items they include!
TWO
Last weekend was Mother's Day and I had a quiet day and my husband worked and older son was with his Dad, but we we all together for dinner and ordered in from my favourite Indian place and enjoyed a good night!
I got a lovely gift of just what I needed right now - WINE! Co-op always come up with these mixed packages and they boys made me a card too, which is my favourite.

Okay, I'm officially obsessed with ordering from BookOutlet - seriously, i picked up some books I've been waiting to add to my little library as well as picked up some new books that sounded great! These books were anywhere from $4 to $9 each (which if you buy new books you know this is a good deal), so I loaded up! They have lots of books that go in and out of stock!
If you are interested in ordering from BookOutlet, I have a referral code that will save you $10 off your first order of $25 or more: http://bookoutlet.ca/Loyalty/Referral?raf=xXCMDyB&c=url
FIVE
While I'm not really wearing face makeup anymore, I am still trying to wear eye makeup and use my palettes! So, here are my recent palettes of the week. The Too Faced Just Peachy Mattes is just okay to me, I don't love using it, but the shadows were fine (I think I was in the minority who wasn't wowed by this palette). The L'oreal Paradise Enchanted palette is a basic palette, but I have enjoyed it - it is easy to use for every day. I just recently reviewed the Catrice Self-Made Bae palette and it's good - I only wish there were more mattes in the palette. And then I used the Too Faced White Peach palette - this is the palette that I really liked where most people preferred the Just Peachy Mattes. It's very light, but great for every day work looks for me!
I hope you all have a great long weekend!
