Manicure Monday - Black Cat Nail Art!

Happy week #2 of Halloween nails! This week's Halloween nail art look is Black Cats! The inspiration was taken from my own Halloween kitty - Mephisto (short for Mephistopheles). My husband is a little geeky and named him after the Lord of Hatred from Diablo; but, it's also a historic demon name, thus I have demon black kitty nails for this week!

Shockingly, the Lord of Hatred could give a shit that I made my nails to look like him, or that this photo would look much better if he would just look at the camera!

I will be the first to admit, this nail art is not my best work! But, it is all freehand and I think it turned out alright. I just enjoy having fun with my nails and perfection isn't a must (although, it is preferred), plus there is no way I have time to re-do them! So, hopefully you can still appreciate the cute design!

All this month for the #CBBxManiMonday we are featuring our take on Halloween nails - make sure you check out Halloween nails from Jayne of Cosmetic Proof, Trysh of Prairie Beauty Love, and Eithne of Tea & Nail Polish - they always have amazing nails!

Black cats are so perfect for Halloween to me and the colours of this nail look really pop! Also, I'm a big fan of purple in Halloween looks and I love how the base purple holographic polish ended up looking for these nails! It really makes the black cats pop and the yellow eyes really stand out!

The products I used for this week's Manicure are:
-Glisten & Glow polish in "First in Line" for the base purple holographic polish
-Wet n Wild polish in Black Creme for the cats
-Colour Club neon yellow polish
-Formula X nail cleanser, base coat, and top coat

Here's how I got this nail look:
1. Nail cleanser and base coat
2. Two coats of base purple polish
3. Using black polish and a nail art brush, create a cat face in the middle of the nail
4. Let dry and using a yellow polish and skinny nail brush, create a cat eye
5. With the black polish and small nail art brush, create a skinny line in the middle of the yellow eye
6. Let dry well and finish with top coat
