July 2015 Ipsy Glam Bag - Beauty Bag Review

Ipsy is one of the inexpensive beauty bag sample subscriptions. You receive 4-5 deluxe sample size or full size products each month. The cost is $10 US (+ $4.95 shipping to Canada).

Ipsy is generally make-up products with a mix of skincare, nail polish, and hair products based on a beauty profile you complete. There is usually 12-18 products that are selected from each month! You can view your "glam room" online that tells you all the products you will receive each month. You also receive a make-up bag each month with your products.

Ipsy arrived sooo late this month and I know I wasn't the only one with shipping problems for July!

Here is a look at the July Ipsy bag:

The theme for this month's bag is "Summer Lovin'" - I love this month's bag! It is a light canvas material and it is so cute!

I peeked earlier this month because I waited forever for my bag - I wasn't thrilled that everything in the bag is for me. Here is a closer look at the products inside:

Bellapierre Lipstick in P.I.N.K. ~ full size $19.99. This long-wearing lipstick has amazing staying power. All natural waxes and oils also give this lipstick great moisturizing properties without feeling heavy on your lips.

This is described as a "hot pink" - I actually think it's not as bright as some of the pinks I have seen! I'm not a huge fan of lipsticks, but I have been trying to wear them more lately! Here is a look at this color:

It is a nice pink - I will be wearing this!!

Jelly Pong Pong 2-in-1 Eyeliner & Shadow ~ full size $15.95. This uniquely formulated crayon doubles as an eyeliner for thick, precise lines as well as a perfectly-blended eye shadow.

This color is described as "bronze" but it looks quite dark - i'm not sure I would use it as a shadow as I have not been a fan of shadow sticks in the past and this one is quite dark. I'm going to pass this on.

City Color Cosmetics - HD Powder ~ sample size 4g for $3.43 (full size is 7g for $5.99). City Color HD Powder sets your foundation for a smooth, matte finish. This finely-milled powder helps blur any imperfections and fills in fine lines to make sure you are always camera-ready. The translucent shade creates a shine-free and airbrushed look that works with all skin tones!

I like the idea of getting a setting powder, but I really prefer a kind of dewy/glowy finish to my skin as opposed to matte. I do sometimes use a matte setting powder, but I did get one last year and am still using it once in a while. I am going to pass this on.

Eau Thermale Avène - Cleanance Gel Soapless Cleanser ~ sample size 25ml for $2.50 (full size is 200ml for $20). This deep-penetrating, soap-free cleanser eliminates impurities and excess sebum without stripping the skin. With this triple action formula, including the patented active ingredient Glyceryl Laurate, sebum and oil production are inhibited and the bacteria responsible for blemishes is diminished, resulting in healthy, blemish-free skin.

Even though I have a thousand cleansers, I am happy to get more. I love find new formulas and brands that I like. I have a lot of different types and my skin needs different cleansers at different times. I like the sounds of this! I will use this, but this is quite a small sample to see from Ipsy.

Octavio Molina Hair "La Playa Salt Spray" ~ sample size 2 oz for $7.75 (full size is 4 oz for $15.50). A Spray infused with Algae Extract for added moisture. This spray uses the richness of the sea to create texture + volume.

I don't think any amount of product is going to give my hair texture and volume. I do not use a lot of hair product, but I have tried quite a few I have received in subscriptions. This I am going to pass on - salt spray is just not for me - this is a good sample size though!

In total, I received 5 products (2 full sized), with a total value of $49.62. This is a great value and while not everything was for me personally, this bag did come with a good mixture of items. Overall, I'm not overly thrilled with the products I received, but only because they are not my personal taste. I actually thought the only item I was going to use was the cleanser, but I am happy to say that I like the color of the lipstick!

I also used some points (500) to cash in for:

IT Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil ~ full size $24. Brow Power matches all hair colors and covers gray perfectly! The oval shaped tip is perfect for both thin and thick brows. The spooley end brush gives a natural polished look! Developed with leading plastic surgeons, IT Cosmetics' proprietary anti-aging technology infuses a blend of brow-conditioning ingredients including Saw Palmetto, Nettle Extract, Green Tea, Biotin, Lecithin, Vitamins A, C, E, Grape Seed and Panthenol. Their exclusive, transforming shade adjusts to every hair color based on how hard you press to give you a beautiful, natural-looking brow.

I'm pretty sure this is a full sized product, and one of my friends received this last month and raved about it! I tried this product this morning and loved it! This was a good points product!!

What did you get in your July Ipsy Ipsy bag?
