2015 Color of the Year - Dramatic Marsala Eyes Makeup Look

At the beginning of the year, I was planning on doing a make-up look each month based on the Color of the Year: Marsala.

I actually ran in to a few months of eye trouble and couldn't wear too much makeup; but, now I'm good and am very excited to get some make-up posts on the blog!!

2015's Color of the Year is Marsala - and is described as a wine red with brown roots!

I am going to show you a Marsala eyeshadow "night/dramatic look" using the Coastal Scents Revealed 2 palette:

I really love this palette and it has some beautiful rich wines that go great with the "marsala" color of the year - this palette also has some great shimmery neutrals and pinks! It is very versatile! The only complaint I have is the colors are unnamed and are not as easily referred to.

The way I start out a dramatic is - do your eye makeup first (face makeup should be done after in case there is a bit of fallout or mess left from the eyeshadow!)

Here are the steps I followed for this look:

1. Do your eyebrows
2. Tape your eyes from bottom of eye to the tip of eyebrow (this part can be skipped but is so great for a dark dramatic cat-eye look!)
3. Eyeshadow primer

4. Use this color as a base shadow over the whole eyelid

5. Use this color as the transition shade in the crease of your eyelid

6. Use this color for the main eyelid

7. Use this great Marsala shade and create a smoky cat eye - this is where the tape comes in handy! You can go a little out of the lines and it will still look perfect!

8. Use this deep black purple as a dark corner shadow

9. Use this color as a highlight under the brow and in the corner of the eye

10. Remove the tape and add eyeliner - the tape line is very helpful in getting a precise cat eye!

11. Add mascara

To complete the look, clean up any fallout and complete your regular makeup routine

I like a neutral lip with dramatic eyes!! Here is the final result:

I love this look - very dramatic for a night out!
