February 2015 BirchBox Canada - Beauty Box Review

Birchbox is the original sample beauty box and has been in the U.S.A. since 2010 - and this is only the 3rd month it has been offered in Canada. It is $10 a month + $4.95 shipping to Canada (you can save money by signing up for a year for $100 + shipping costs). Each month you receive 5 sample (or full size) products based on a beauty profile you complete.

Birchbox Canada describes itself as:
"Five personalized beauty samples delivered right to your door each month. It’s the best way to find the products you’ll love."

It should be noted that if you view the U.S. Birchbox - Canadian's receive different products. I hope this expands and we get access to all the products available to out American counterparts soon! I like that some boxes (such as Ipsy and Glossybox) offer the exact boxes to Canadians - I am hoping Birchbox does the same at some point!

Here is the February 2015 Birchbox Canada:

It looks like I have 1 full size item, but 2 of those samples look pretty small.

Here is a closer look at the products inside:

Derma e Anti-Wrinkle Vitamin A Glycolic Scrub ~ sample size 1 oz for $3.19 (full size is 4 oz for $12.75). This all-natural cleanser sloughs off dull skin, fades dark spots, and cleans pores.
This is fine, I like a good scrub - but I did receive a scrub 2 months ago from Birchbox, so it would nice to see a little product variation (it is a different brand).

Tocca Crema da Mano - Cleopatra ~ sample size 1 oz for $5 (full size is 2 oz for $10). Loaded with natural botanicals, this grapefruit and cucumber lotion absorbs in a flash.
This smells goos, I am content with purse hand lotions.

Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips ~ sample size 3 ml for $3.40 (full size is 15 ml for $17.) Originally made for nursing moms, this ultra hydrated balm is a makeup artist fave.
This can be used on lips, cuticles and elbows. This sounds really weird, but it did make my lips feel very soft!

Creamy Lip Stain in "Heartthrob" By Cynthia Rowley ~ sample size 0.079 oz for $9.29 (full size is 1.7 for $20.) A long-wearing stain from the NYC-based designer that gives unbeatable moisture and shine.
I struggle to think this is $9 - if you look at the first picture you can see how small it is! Also it is too bright for me, I am going to pass it on. Heartthrob is a cute name to send out during Valentine's month.

Noir Long-Wear Eyeliner ~ full size $15. Enriched with vitamin E, this creamy, waterproof liner glides on smoothly for all-day wear.
Yay - my first full size product from Birchbox! I did also receive a black pencil liner 2 months ago, but this one is very smooth and I like that it is water and smudge proof!

Altogether I received 5 products (1 full size) with a value of $35.88 - this is an improvement from last month. I like most of the products I received (with exception of the color of lip gloss), but nothing is super exciting either. I'm waiting for Birchbox to really wow me!
