Wine + Mask Wednesday (Cono Sur Pinot Noir + Lush Fresh Face Mask)

I just read that today is International Wine Drinking Day - I'm not sure if that's actually factual or not, but my Wine and Mask Wednesday post will fit in really nicely today if it is!

I have been super excited to review this mask, so let's pair it with a nice wine and get in to it!

Today's wine is:

Cono Sur Organic Pinot Noir - this is $14.99 in stores. Cono Sur is a company from Chile and their motto is "no family trees, no dusty bottles, just quality wine"! They have a good selection of wine and they also offer a non-organic Pinot Noir for a few dollars less (it is delightful and I may have loaded up on a few this week while it was on sale at my local liquor store!).

I love a good Pinot Noir and Cono Sur "specializes" in Pinot Noir:
Cono Sur was born around the oldest Pinot Noir vineyards in Chile. We were the first in Chile to produce Premium Pinot Noir, and also the first to export the variety. Producing Pinot Noir has been Cono Sur’s most exiting challenge.

Here is a closer look:

And here is a look at the wine:

It's a little darker than some Pinot Noir's (apparently from the organic grapes used) but looks good - for best results a Pinot Noir should be served slightly chilled and colder than room temperature. I was always told about 2 hours in the refrigerator and it will be the perfect temperature! This wine is a lighter tasting red and look for hints of cherries and berries! Delicious!

On the note of my wine having berry notes, the perfect pairing for tonight should obviously be:

Lush Fresh Face Mask "Catastrophe Cosmetic" ~ a cooling, calming, deep cleansing blueberry mask for sore and troubled skin. This is $6.95 and is only available in Lush stores as it has to be stored in the fridge!

This blueberry packed maintenance mask is described as:
Prevent disasters by taking regular care of your skin with our deep-cleansing, nutrient-rich blueberry mask. The little blue bulbs are packed with vitamins, and blended into calamine, rose absolute and chamomile blue oil to soothe redness, irritation and cleanse the skin without stripping it of its natural oils. This one is wonderfully soothing on sensitive skin. Treat your face to Catastrophe Cosmetic as often as you can to keep your skin looking its best.

So, I'm not going to lie - I know Lush has a huge following out there, but this is one of the first products I have tried from them! A few bloggers I follow have raved about this product and my love of masks had me easily swayed to try this product! There brand is great and I love that everything is fresh and handmade!
Here is a look at the ingredients (and notice only good for about a month since it's fresh!):

This mask is very simple to use: Wash face and pat dry. Apply mask (I use a mini scoop/spatula instead of my fingers) and apply a generous layer to face! Leave on for 5-10 minutes and rinse off with warm water.
Here is what it looks like:

I feel like a smurf and I love the smell of this mask - a combination of rose and blueberries! I feared this mask was going to be quite messy to remove, but I am happy to say it rinsed off very easy with little mess! It made my skin softer and I did think the redness was reduced!

I am definitely a fan - I can see what all the raves were about! Although now it makes me want to try out more Fresh Masks! I have my eyes set on Brazened Honey, Love Lettuce, BB Seaweed and Oatifix! This mask will be a repurchase!

Have you tried any of these Lush Fresh Masks? I would love to know what you think!
Don't forget to celebrate International Wine Drinking Day!
