I really enjoyed working on a project pan last year, it really made me enjoy using up older products in my collection, so I was excited to start a new project pan in 2021 - I am hoping to use up or hit pan on 21 products in 2021! I will again, be focusing on all makeup products as I am pretty good about working through my skincare products.
I purchased all the products in this post - this post contains affiliate links
I started the project off with the first 10 products and will treat this like a rolling project - once I reach my goal, I will add a new product to the mix! On my first update, I reached my goal on 1 product, then with the second update, I finished another 2, my third update I finished another 4 products, and my last update in August I finished another 1 product. So, I'm down to 13 more products (yikes - I'm feeling like final crunch now!!)
I have a mix of goals between finishing products and hitting pan, so this should be a lot of fun! I also picked a mix of products that I will reach my goals quickly on and some that may take close to the whole project to reach! Let's start with the product that I've reached my goal on:
Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Bronzer in Bronzer ~ $22.99 CAN. Ultra-luxurious bronzer, infused with Murumuru Butter, delivers a radiant Brazilian goddess glow! Features ultra-refined pearls and soft-focus pigments that smooth skin texture, brighten skin tone and deliver a gorgeous bronze finish.
This is a good bronzer, but it's the oldest one in my collection, and the packaging is broken, which drives me nuts. It doesn't latch anymore and that's the only thing that drives me crazy about some drugstore brands is how quick the packaging get ruined.
My goal was this is to hit pan on this, and I'm surprised after only introducing this in June, I hit pan on this at the start of September! I had a stretch goal of finishing this, but I have removed it from the project because I did reach my goal and I need to get some other goals met too!
Too Faced Cosmetics Primed & Peachy Cooling Matte Skin Perfecting Primer ~ deluxe size (travel size is $16.00 US). Cooling matte primer blurs and smooths your complexion with a brightening peach tint that works on any skin tone.
I have so many primers and back-ups in my collection - I feel like they are always point products or addons, so I will always have one in my project pan to get through these. This one is older and now it appears this product is discontinued, so time to move it out!
This is actually my second one of these and I introduced this in July and finished it up at the end of September. My goal was to use it up, which I managed to do quickly!
Essence Brighten Up! Banana Powder ~ $5.99 CAN. Translucent mattifying powder ideal for concealer baking and perfect for setting matt highlights.
Again, like primers, I have a few older powders that I would like to clear out, so I will always have a face powder in here. I was hoping when I purchased this quite a while ago that it would replace the NYX banana powder that is a little harder to find, but the packaging broke so quickly, so I can't take this anywhere, so time to use it up!
My goal was to use this up - there was already a huge dent in this when I introduced this back in June, so it's not surprising that I used this up at the end of September!
So, another 3 products completed! And, here's the other products that I've introduced earlier in the project that I'm still working towards my goal on:
Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette ~ $65.00 CAN. An eyeshadow palette with 18 shades in peachy pinks, corals, bronzes, and purples.
This is my oldest palette in my collection right now - it came out in early 2016, so we are pushing 5 years old now (you can see my original post back in April 2016 on it here!). The formula is still good and I really liked this palette, and still enjoy it whenever I remember to use it, so I think it's time to get some good use out of it before it's not so good anymore!
My goal for this eyeshadow palette is to hit pan on at least 2 shadows (maybe 3 depending on how I'm doing) and use all the shadows at least a couple of times! I'm making a dent on the lightest 3 shades and hit pan on one shadow on July 30, 2021, I hit pan on the 2nd shadow on October 9, 2021, and I'm so close to hitting pan on the lightest shade! I haven't used all the shadows, and I likely wont before this is out of the project!
Becca Cosmetics Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Champagne Pop ~ $50.00 CAN. An award-winning highlighter with an ultra-creamy formula that melts into skin for a natural, luminous glow.
This is probably the oldest highlighter in my collection - Champagne Pop was huge when it was released in July 2015 and it really is a stunning colour. It made my Monthly Favourites back in that month, so it's an oldie but a goodie! It's described as "soft gold with pinky-peach pearl" and it really is stunning - it's an old favourite and I've made a pretty good dent in it over the years.
My goal with this product is to hit pan on it - this is a big highlighter, so I think this might take me quite a while to do, but it will feel really great to do. This has been in the project since the beginning and I have been using this lots, I'm getting close, but not quite there yet!
Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Paaarty ~ deluxe sample (full size is $38.00 CAN). An award-winning powder blush that contains long-wearing Amazonian clay, so pigment looks freshly applied all day.
This is another old favourite - it was one of my Favourite Makeup Products of 2017. I think this was the Sephora Birthday gift either 2016 or 2017 and Paaarty is described as a "nude". It's a lovely pinky nude that works well for my skintone and it's an easy to use shade for every day!
My goal for this product is to hit pan on this blush - it is a deluxe size, so that should be doable within this year, but I do think that this will take quite a while! But, as we near towards the end of the year, I keep thinking "have I made any progress on this?!" - ahhh, hoping I can see a pan soon!
ColourPop Lip Crayon in Z Boys ~ $8.00 US each. When all you need is just a tint. This comfy, hydrating lip tint adds the perfect sheer wash of colour to create healthy, glowy lips.
These lip tint lip crayons were another instant love for me when I picked them up - this made my Favourite Makeup Discoveries of 2019! Z Boys is described as a "sheer peach nude" and the formula is super soft and comfortable on the lips and wear off without smearing everywhere and they leave a pretty tint behind (just a little bit) and reapply really nicely. I have been getting a ton of tinted lip balms lately, so I want to use some of my older ones that I love too!
My original goal for this product is to use it up, but last update I swapped to using half of it - honestly, I have used this a little bit and I am not making any progress, so I doubt I will get very far with this. I will keep trying!
YSL Touche Eclat Colour Corrector in # 3 Violet ~ $52.00 CAN. Violet helps neutralize dull or sallow skin. Instantly eliminates color imperfections for a flawless skin tone. Convenient one-click brush perfectly & effortlessly targets the problem areas.
This was a concealer that has sort of been forgotten in my collection, but I've enjoyed a violet powder, so I'm thinking that I will enjoy this under my eyes for a brightening effect. This is a nice thin formula and it was comfortable to wear.
My goal with this is to use it up - it's a little hard to judge how much is in here, or how long it will take me to finish, so it will be a surprise! And, since I can't weigh anything this update, I really have no way to track this so we'll see.
Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Soft Matte Hydra Makeup in Ecru ~ $54.00 CAN. A soft-matte liquid foundation, with up to 24-hour wear, that blurs the look of pores for a camera-ready finish that’s lightweight, oil-free, and non-drying.
This is a little blast from the past (I had this in last year's project pan). This formula is described as "matte reimagined" and for me it's just okay - I find it can look a little powdery and slightly dry on me. It's not terrible, but it's just something I want to use up as it's not my most favourite formula, but it's still good - it's also my oldest foundation so time to clear it out.

My goal for this foundation is to use it all up. I tried this last year, but with a constant masking at work policy, I barely used this, so I'm hoping to give it another go this year - I've managed to use a good amount up so far, so we'll see how much more I can use it over the next couple of months!
Hard Candy Eyes The Limit Eyeshadow Primer ~ (sample size shown) full size is $5.98 CAN. Increase the vibrancy and lasting power of your eye shadow by applying Eye’s The Limit as a base layer to eyelids. The crease-proof, extended wear formula prevents fading of eye shadow while maintaining a flawless look all day.
I introduced this to the product in the last update as it is an older eye primer in my collection, this is a decent one, it has a light tint so it blends in nicely with my eyelids - it sets nicely and doesn't crease.
My goal is to use this product up - I think this will be a bit challenging as there is a lot of product in these eye primer packages! We will see! But, I made a surprising amount of progress so far, so I'm hoping to make a good dent by the end of the year!
And, since I finished 3 products this update, here are the 3 new products I'm introducing:
E.L.F. Cosmetics Ultra Precise Brow Pencil in Brunette ~ $6.99 CAN. Create full, natural looking brows with this precision pencil. The micro-slim shape defines and fills in gaps to mimic the look of real hair.
I added this in to the project on September 1 after I hit pan on the bronzer - I typically have a brow product in my project pan as I have a lot of them. This one isn't that old and it's decent, so I'm looking forward to using it!
My goal on this one is to use it up - I've used a good amount already, so I think I will be able to finish this one up!
Too Faced Peach Blur Translucent Smoothing Finishing Powder ~ $38.00 CAN. An innovative blurring and finishing powder for a flawless-looking complexion.
This powder is now the oldest powder in my collection - these project pans have been so helpful in getting to use up some old powders up. This is a past Favourite from 2018 and it's lovely. It's great for smoothing; but, it is getting old, so it's not working the same it was a few years ago!

My goal on this product is to use this up - I have made some good progress previously, so I do hope that I'm able to finish this up by the end of the year! I do think I can do it!
Glamglow Glowstarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer in Nude Glow ~ sample size (full size is $65.00 CAN). A daily illuminating moisturizer to give your skin an instant hydrated glow—with hyaluronic acid, green tea, and highlighting pearl particles, your skin will be moisturized, energized, and glowing.
I really like this moisturizer - it's super glowy and bright and it's amazing mixed with a light tinted moisturizer just for a gentle glow to the skin. This also smells so good, but I have quite a few light coverage products, so time to use this one up.

My goal for this product is to use half of it up but the end of the project - I tend to mix this and can use it daily, so I'm hoping I can make that!
Okay, so with only a couple of months left to go, I have reached my goal on 11 products, and I have 10 products left to go! I'm not quite sure I'm going to be able to finish 10, but I'm feeling really close to meeting my goal on a few of these products!
