I'm sure it's pretty clear by now that I'm rather obsessed with Disney Princess makeup lines, especially Aurora lines!
I purchased everything in this post
So, when Besame announced that they were doing a super-limited release with Disney as part of the Ultimate Princess Celebration, I knew I was going to have to try and snag the Aurora set!
Disney asked Besame so create a very limited collection that was high-end and high quality, so it was a very limited supply (I think there was only 500 units each), so if you have been eyeing a princess, these will sell out in a few minutes, so think fast! They have been released every other Tuesday night, so tonight! at 6:00 p.m. PST and it's Pocahontas tonight!)
I will start by saying, this set is currently sold out - they will release a few on the Disney website, however, they do go quick as well! But, if it inspires you to look up your favourite princess, check out their release calendar - these are exclusive, but Besame has also created refillable powders, so once you finish what is the package, you can keep reusing this compact!
Each compact is made with an exclusive mold and can't be found anywhere else - the lipstick cases are all the same (different colours, some gold and some silver), and they feature little designs from all the movies - they are lovely!
The set itself comes in this Signature Compact Series case and it opens really nicely to reveal the princess and products!
I love the art style they've used for all the princesses - the sketch feeling is lovely and the case is a nice addition to the set.
The lipstick formulas in this line are all triple pigmented, feather proof, long wearing satin finish with a subtle vanilla flavor. They are enriched with vitamin E, squalane, and formulated for sensitive skin.
They all come in this gorgeous collectible tube - I love that their is just subtle art for each princess - a magic lamp for Jasmine, kissing frogs for Tiana, wind for Pocahontas, a glass slipper for Cinderella. It's lovely.
As with all their collections, the shades are inspired from shades used in the movies - in this case, the original 1959 movie.
If you got the Aurora lipstick in the 2019 60th Anniversary collection with Besame, this one is different - it is a deeper, more medium pink. (You can see my review of that whole collection here to see the difference, because it's lovely!)
Here is a look at this Disney Princess Signature Aurora lipstick on me - it's a lovely, medium pink that would be flattering on lots of people.
I struggle a little with the shape of Besame's lipsticks to get the perfect outline, but that is easily fixed with a lip liner!
Again another look at the lipstick case - the dragon for Mulan, the fairies for Aurora, the bow and arrow for Merida and the rose for Belle. They've added all these fun elements of each show, but still left it looking really beautiful and not childish at all!
The "highlight" of this set (ha - get it?! pun intended) is in the compact of this Translucent Shimmer Powder - this Sleeping Beauty compact features the scene where Prince Phillip is about to kiss Aurora and break the spell.
The compacts each have the princesses name engraved, a mirror, and a pretty highlight based on shades on each show.
This is a light, champagne-y shade - I love that it has just enough shimmer and is more on the subtle highlight shade, making it a little more wearable for some. It is a light shade, so it is not universally flattering, but hopefully other highlighters in the range are meant for deeper skintones.
Here is the Translucent Shimmer Powder on me - I'm wearing it as a highlight, but because it is more transluscent it may be able to be used with a light dusting everywhere to add a subtle shimmer to the skin as a finishing powder.
This compact is so stunning - it is a nice heavy material, and again, this is an exclusive mold, so cannot be recreated with a pretty silver finish. I love the silver and black and the picture is lovely (some princess compacts are bright and full of colour, but I love the image on this one!)
Here is the lipstick and highlighter from this Aurora Signature set - I love them. Besame makeup is great quality. I know these were expensive, but I do love that the compact is reusable, so they are certainly collector makeup pieces as well!
There is still a few princesses left to be released, so make sure you check them out if you are interested in one of these sets! I love a gorgeous display piece, but also something to use and love and these totally fit the bill!
What do you think of this set?!
Ohhh, that compact is just beautiful!
