It's time for a look at my September Monthly Makeup Basket! Each month I've been picking a few different face products to focus on for the month! I'm really trying to focus this year on using and enjoying my whole makeup collection!
For September the products I'm focusing on are:
- Laura Geller Glow For It Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator Trio - this was a cute little highlighter trio and I love this formula! I tend not to reach for palettes with face products, so I really need to use this more!
- Benefit Watt's Up Highlighter - I've loved this hlighlighter before and I actually completely forgot about my cream highlighters, so I'm excited to use this (I might not be able to keep this too much longer as I received this in a beauty swap 4 years ago!)
- Clinique Cheek Pop Blush in Plum Pop - this is such a bright pink blush, that I've had this for years and I'm super intimidated by the colour and pigmentation! I just prefer something a little less bright, so I avoid using this, so I will see how I use this!
- Too Faced Love Flush in Love Hangover - I find this blush so pigmented that it's a little hard to wear (again, I prefer a little lighter), but I'm hoping I can make this work too as it's a beautiful shade!
TWO
Last weekend myself and a couple of friends walked in the Calgary Pride Parade and loved it! Pride is a protest for inclusivity and love and as an ally to the LGBTQ community, I know the importance of sharing our support! The energy and support in the parade was amazing! And I still can't figure out why Calgary waits until September, but I was happy I was able to take part this year!
Also, this past weekend we took Elliott to the Calgary Farm Yard because they were having their Summer Sun Fest and opened their sunflower field! Sadly, we had such a cloudy and rainy Summer that they didn't grow super tall, but they were perfect for Elliott size! And, they had pony rides and lots of fun things to do. To really add to the Summer vibe, we got totally rained out too! It was still lots of fun!
THREE
I can't believe I have a grade niner in the house! Holy! It's so cliche; but, I have no idea where the time has gone! Damian is growing up so fast and despite the fact that he wouldn't smile, he doesn't mind going to school and was looking forward to Grade 9!
FOUR
I was lucky enough to win a giveaway from Rexall on Instagram for the full Essie Summer 2019 collection and was so excited! I've already swatched them all and you can check them out on my past Mani Monday!
FIVE
I've ben accumulating a few ColourPop palettes and the past four weeks, I've used 4 different palettes for my Palette of the Week (where I use one palette for my whole week - I use them alone and can mix them with anything!)
I've finally used the Yes, Please! palette that I've had for a year (yes, thats absurd I know) so I will share my thoughts eventually! And then I used the My Little Pony palette - you can see my swatches and look here with this palette!
And I love the ColourPop "It's a Princess Thing" palette so much and you can see thoughts, swatches and looks here! And, one of the newest ColourPop palettes in my collection is the Uh-Huh Honey palette and I just shared a look and swatches on my latest haul post! I'm really impressed with all of the ColourPop palettes and their quality is great!
I hope you all have a great weekend!
