This month the Canadian Beauty Bloggers are featuring Physicians Formula and I have a bit of a confession to make - I haven't really tried a ton of Physicians Formula (actually, I can't think of a single product from them that I've tried! Not even Butter Bronzer).
I'm still a pretty recent convert, within the last couple of years, to the drugstore side makeup side of the world, so I still have lots of brands to try! So, I took our monthly feature as a good reason to try the brand and have picked up a few different products to try!
Physicians Formula was founded in 1937 with an allergist making healthy beauty products that would not aggravate his wife's sensitive skin. Still to this day all of the products are made with the following criteria: hypoallergenic, safe for sensitive skin and eyes, and created without any of the 150+ known harsh ingredients found in other personal care items. So, Physicians Formula is on the higher end of drugstore prices; but, it appears that they are really ingredient conscious!
Physicians Formula Rose All Day Petal Glow in Petal Pink ~ $20.99 CAN. A brightening and Illuminating all-over-glow that imparts unprecedented color dimension for a flawless pearluminous finish. Why it's good for you: Ultra-luxurious formula brightens skin instantly and over time while keeping your skin flawlessly glowing.
So this is marketed as a highlighter, but in the description it's described as being a multi-use formula to compliment a variety of skin tones and it can be used as a highlighter, blush or eyeshadow!
So, this is great for me; because, I buy everything online and the shade "Petal Pink" showed up a fair bit darker than I was expecting - it is described as a soft pink. And it's a little deeper than that!
So, I was a little bummed when I swatched this because it is way too dark on my skin tone for a highlighter; but, of course would be a beautiful highlighter on deeper skin tones! But, I thought this shade was so gorgeous and that it might make a good blush on me! It's shimmery but not overly so and no glitter at all in it!
Here is a look at the Rose All Day Petal Glow in "Petal Pink" as a blush on me and it's a super lovely blush shade on me! And, as a blush, this has a nice hint of a glow on my cheekbones so I didn't have to apply a highlighter overtop! But, it's not crazy glowy so I don't actually look like I'm only wearing a highlighter as a blush - what, I mean is it's sort of a perfect blush formula!
And, here's a look at Petal Pink as a blush on me in a full makeup look! I'm loving the look of this blush formula on my cheeks and I'm really happy with how this wears on me!
So, I really loved this formula as a blush on me, and now I'd like to pick up a lighter shade for a highlighter!
What do you think? Have you tried these yet?
This is such a beautiful color, do you know if they have other shades too?
ReplyDeleteYes - I think they have 4 shades in this line! So pretty!
DeleteThis is wo pretty! I haven't seen it in stores yet but I will definitely keep my eye out for it! I need it!
ReplyDeleteI just pick everything up online (then you run in to my shade problem), but I never go to stores - hopefully it's there soon! It's so pretty!
DeleteThey have a really great liquid liner! When I first started blogging and getting into makeup, PF was my go-to brand and I purchased that liner 3x!
ReplyDeleteOoooh good to know!
DeleteThis colour is perfect as a blush on you! I haven't tried many of their products either. I want to try their butter bronzer, but at the same time I already have my go-to bronzer, and quite a few untrieds in my stash. I don't need to add more.
ReplyDeleteI have so few bronzers so I picked it up and it's pretty good. But, nothing to drop all the other ones for...
