Milk Makeup Holographic Stick "Supernova" - Lavender Unicorn Highlighter Trend!

I was so excited when Milk Makeup announced that they were coming to Canada at the beginning of March! They have some great products, but their best known product is the Supernova Holographic Stick!

Clearly, unicorn makeup and lavender highlighter are so trendy right now! And why not?! It's such a gorgeous colour!

Milk Makeup is a brand focused on multi-use products because they believe in no rules and self expression with their products! Everything is paraben-free, cruelty-free, and eco-conscious ingredients.

Milk Makeup Holographic Stick in "Supernova" ~ $34.00. A highlighter stick that gives a hyper-lavender iridescent effect for an otherworldly aura.

This is described as a multi-use product - think cheeks, eyes, lips and body. Essentially, just swipe this stick wherever you want a beautiful prismatic, holographic glow! This product should work on any skintone and can be applied on bare skin or over makeup.

The big swatch is using the whole stick and the lower swatch is using a finger - you can see that the stick is quite big!

I was actually quite surprised when I swatched this holographic stick - it was a fair bit lighter than I was expecting! I'm not saying that it is a bad thing; in fact, I think it's a really good thing because this will be much more wearable than I initially thought!!

The stick is also really creamy - I was expecting a cream highlighter, but it is just a little slicker than what I was expecting. Also, because of the texture it is a little bit difficult to apply right over top of makeup (especially liquid foundation). Also, the size of the stick is quite big so it can be a huge highlight if you apply this stick directly to your face!

I prefer to apply this using my fingertip - swirl around on the top of the holographic stick and then apply to the face! I absolutely love this highlighter and think for a holographic, lavender shade it is incredibly wearable and beautiful! It can easily be lightly swiped for an everyday look and can built up for a bolder look too!

Here is a makeup look I did showing how it can be worn everday:

Makeup Look:
-Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer
-Vichy Teint Ideal Cream Foundation
-Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer in Medium Light Neutral
-Besame Cosmetics Brightening Setting Face Powder in Violet

-Milk Makeup Holographic Stick in Supernova

Love how this highlighter turned out! Have you jumped on board with the lavender unicorn makeup trend yet?

  4. OMG the highlighter looks amazing on you!! I've seen this product floating around on Instagram and I wasn't sure about it, but it looks a lot more natural on you than I thought it would be.
Good call on using your fingertip, I was always curious about what would happen to the makeup if you applied the stick straight to your face.
