I picked up the regular lucky bag for fair/medium skin. There was also XL lucky bags, Jeffree Star Lucky Bags, and a Buy One Gift One as other options. I'm a total sucker for these mystery boxes and this is my 3rd year getting one - you can see my past unboxings here!
Here is a look at my 2020 Beautylish Lucky Bag:

The Lucky Bags are described as "Lucky Bags are a Japanese New Year custom that inspired us to create our own. The crane on this year's Lucky Bag symbolizes longevity and good luck. We hope the surprises inside make your 2020 a little more lucky."
I received 6 products in my Lucky Bags from Natasha Denona, Juno & Co, Beautylish, Good Molecules, Sonia G and Jeffree Star. Here is a closer look at the products I received:
Natasha Denona Camel Eyeshadow Palette ~ $63.00 CAN. An eyeshadow palette with a range of five versatile, nude shades.
This was of course my favourite item out of the whole box - I really like the Natasha Denona palettes I have and I only have the minis, so I am actually looking forward to using the full size formula! I find two of the shadows quite similar in here; but, I am always using neutral palettes, so this will get used!
Good Molecules Niacinamide Brightening Toner ~ $19.00 CAN. Promote bright, even skin and less visible pores with this brightening toner that’s gentle enough for daily use.
This is something that I'm happy to see and will use - we all got Good Molecules last year as it was a new line to Beautylish, I still haven't tried much from the brand and I do love a brightening toner. It sounds like it has ingredients I like - I just have a few toners to use first!
Sonia G Pencil One ~ $36.00 CAN. This precision pencil brush offers performance and control without sacrificing a soft feel.
I have heard really great things about Sonia G brushes, so I am looking forward to using this. This is a small detail brush, so I do wish we got a brush that I was going to use more, but I am hoping that I will use it more often!

Juno & Co. Microfiber Rosé Velvet Sponge ~ $9.00 CAN. Apply foundation with precision and an airbrushed-looking finish with the pink wine-inspired Microfiber Rosé Velvet Sponge from JUNO & Co. Designed with a slanted edge for controlled stippling, this innovative makeup sponge lets you customize your coverage and blend effortlessly.
I guess these came out earlier this year and were really hyped up because they are a micro-fibre material; but, I haven't heard really good things about these sponges - they were not very well reviewed! But, I will give it a go.
Beautylish Presents Faux Fur Brush Roll ~ $19.00 CAN. A vegan fur brush roll that keeps your makeup brushes organized and protected on the go.
I think this is a new branded Beautylish product - it is a little brush roll, great for travel. But, I did think maybe it would have brushes inside?! But, it does magnetize closed nicely, so I will use it.
Jeffree Star 5 Year Anniversary Velour Liquid Lipstick Bundle ~ $102.00 CAN. Celebrate five years of Jeffree Star Cosmetics with five Velour Liquid Lipsticks from the original holiday collection.
Alright, there is always a chance of getting JS in the lucky bags, but I thought it would be smaller items because they now offer a full JS lucky bag. Unfortunately, this is the biggest item in my box and I don't support Jeffree Star cosmetics - just personal preference. So, I'm a little bummed that this was the biggest item in my box. Plus, even if these were a brand I was okay with a white and green lipstick are probably a little too much for me!
So I spent $125 Canadian on this Lucky Bag, and I received $248 worth of products. I am really excited about the Natasha Denona palette and the Good Molecules Toner, and I will use the sponge, brush and brush roll. And, I will be passing on the Jeffree Star lipsticks. So, this was just okay - it's always such a big chunk of money to risk products you might not like. But, there have been some good lucky bags out there. What did you get in your Lucky Bag?

I got: Good Molecules Toner, Rae Morrie Lip Brush, Charlotte Tilbury Eyeshadow Palette, Vital Proteins Beauty Collagen, Oribe Heat Styling Balm, Colorfix Cream Eyeshadow and a Juno and Co. Sponge!
ReplyDeleteOooh Charlotte Tilbury and a cream eyeshadow sound good!
DeleteYou got a good value in your bag, it just sucks that you got the J* lippies (I fully agree with you on this brand).
ReplyDeleteYa, I was not happy with that!!! I was hoping for a little more "me" products overall!
DeleteYou didn't get a bad mix! That palette is gorgeous and what a fun brush roll! You'll have to put that to use on your next trip. :) The sponge sounds strange, but I look forward to hearing what you think about it!
