August 2019 - Monthly Favourites!

I know I've been saying this a lot; but, can you believe that August is nearly over?! I feel like I blinked and Summer was gone! It was a great Summer - it was just really, really busy. I'm looking forward to things slowing down soon!

Pride Rainbow Eyeshadow Look - August Shop My Stash

The Pride festivities are carrying on here in Calgary - they started on August 23 and go through September 2, with the big parade being on September 1, 2019! And, I'm hoping to be in the parade this year with a friend's work organization, so I was so excited to practice some rainbow eye makeup for Pride while shopping my stash!

I absolutely LOVE how this rainbow makeup turned out - I had always thought that big, fun, bright eye looks weren't exactly what I could pull off and this ended being easy to do and so so so fun to wear! I will be replicating this look on Pride Parade day!

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all had a great week! And, Happy start of Pride in Calgary - our celebrations here carry on from August 23 to September 2, 2019!

Long Weekend at the Cabin Beauty Must Haves!

And as I was packing, I thought I'd share some of the must-have multi-tasking beauty items that I pack along with me for any quick weekend away! When I'm going out to the cabin (or really any long weekend away) I don't pack my full routine with me because I try to be less high maintenance!

Jelly products are so much fun! I love seeing all the brands come out with them and I've been loving the ColourPop Jelly Much shadows and now I'm basically like BUY ALL THE JELLY MUCH EYE SHADOWS!!!

Manicure Monday - Best Summer Nail Art Looks!

Happy Monday everyone! I know I'm going to sound so lame, but how is August already halfway over?! I feel like Summer has flown by and I cannot stay on top of anything - I feel like I have no time! It's crazy! 

This whole month our #CBBxManiMonday group is doing things a little bit different and we are searching #summernails and picking our inspiration from what we find - I saw lots of fun, fruity nails and I had amazing fruit nails last year, so on top of having no time, and my super cute cactus nails looking amazing, I thought I'd showcase some of my past favourite Summer nail looks!

This is some of my favourite nail art ever! I'm so proud of how each of the fruit pieces turned out - they are all super cute! I also love the varying red and yellow fruits and how they look on the sage green background! You can see the original post here!

Hard Candy Setting Spray - Long Wear ~ $6.98 CAN. A weightless spray that locks in makeup for all day wear.

This came in a hard candy set and the setting spray itself worked well and I thought it helped extend the longevity of my makeup; but, the nozzle sprays this product out too thick, if that makes sense. I prefer a finer spray so that it doesn't leave any dots on my face.
Repurchase: Maybe, I would prefer if the nozzle was changed 

Skincare Saturday - Kosmea Energising Radiance Mask

I get so excited when I'm introduced to new brands to me that have philosophies and products that I really like! Kosmea is Australian natural skincare brand that is founded on the healing properties of organic rosehip oil!

When I first heard Rosehip oil, I got pretty excited because my skin responds really well to rose based products. But, looking in to it a little more, rosehip oil is the oil from inside the fruit left behind forma rose that has lost its petals, referred to as a "hip"!

I received a Topbox Circle kit that came with a couple samples of the Almay Lip Vibes lipstick and a Doucce eyeliner! The shade of lipstick I'm wearing is Go Wild and it's a pretty light nude and the Doucce is a bright blue eyeliner that looks awesome on the waterline! 

The Body Shop Is Bananas - B - A - N - A - N - A - S

I generally start out all of these posts by professing my love for the featured ingredients, and this post is no difference, I love banana products! So, when I saw all the banana products from The Body Shop, I went bananas and picked a bunch of them up!

I have to say that I used to use The Body Shop banana shampoo and conditioner around 15 years ago when I was in high school and I couldn't use anything else - I absolutely loved them! I was so sad when they discontinued the line and when they relaunched it a year or so ago, I was really nervous to try it because I was worried it wouldn't be the same for me!

We got back from our week long family trip last weekend in Fairmont, B.C. this past weekend and we had a blast! It was a crazy, busy week - there was 8 adults and 5 kids (1 teenager, 3 toddler boys and a baby). My husbands family has a beautiful cabin on the river and we love going out there! Fairmont is such a beautiful area and we spent lots of time at the Hot Springs, on the river, and went in to Invermere a few times! Such a great time with the family! 

July 2019 What I Bought - Monthly Haul!

Time for a look at everything I picked up this month - I really love these Monthly Haul posts - they give me a way to share everything I pick up each month as I don't always post about everything I get!

For 2019, I put myself on stricter $100 a month budget , not because I need to; it's actually to be more conscious about what I purchase. I also really want to make sure that I'm enjoying and using everything on my collection!

Anthropologie Mask Haul ~ $26.78 CAN. I always love the mask brands that they have at Anthropologie and last time I was shopping, they had a 20% off skincare sale! So, I picked up 3 masks from Happy Skin and a mask from Meg (new brands to me), plus 2 masks from Leaders (a favourite brand of mine!). I'm very excited to try all of these masks!

Have you ever tried a product and fell in love with it instantly?! I can tell you that love-at-first-try happened with the new Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Gel!

You know what's even crazier about falling instantly in love with this product? I've never actually tried the iconic ABH Dipbrow pomade! I just rarely use a pomade so it wasn't a product that made me need to try it!
