Memebox Christmas Collection #3 "Winter Essential Masks" Review

This post contains referral links

Memebox is a Korean Beauty Box company - it is not a monthly subscription box. Instead, they release different boxes ranging in price from $15 and up - usually between $23 and $29.

All the boxes have different themes and they are limited quantities and sell out quickly - so if you see one you like, don't hesitate! The boxes come with 4-8 full size and deluxe sample size items & they usually show you 1 spoiler from the box and the rest are all surprises! Shipping to Canada is $6.99 (shipping does take anywhere from 10-20 business days) and they ship worldwide!

For Christmas, Memebox did a 12 days of Christmas theme and released a new box or deal each day. I was so excited to see a winter mask theme (thanks to Memeboxes, my love of face masks has multiplied).

The "Winter Essential Masks" box is described as:
The winter season is the most festive time of the year, filled with holiday parties and homeward travels. While winter wonderland may be all fun and games for the mind and soul, it's not the same story for the skin!

December 2014 Beauty Box 5 - Sample Beauty Subscription Box Review

This post contains referral links

Beauty Box 5 is a monthly beauty sample subscription box that costs $12 US per month + $3 shipping to Canada. You can save money if you sign up for a longer subscription: $30 quarterly, or $99 a year (plus $3 shipping per month).

I signed up for Beauty Box 5 when they had a promotional code for $12 off a year (and before they started charging for shipping!) - so I got a full year for $87. This worked out to $97.60 Canadian with the exchange rate so it works out to $8.14 a month for this subscription.

Beauty Box 5 is described as:

"Every month we'll send you a mix of makeup, beauty accessories, hair, skincare, fragrance, body, and nail products that we can't get enough of. Our secret? We share products that really work, so you'll receive luxury, drugstore, niche, eco-conscious, and even vegan brands.

Whether you're a cosmetic newbie or a beauty guru, identify yourself as adventurous and playful or classy and mature, like to splurge on high-end items or be a savvy spender, we have everything you're looking for."

This box has been referred to as the"starter beauty box" - it does not send many high end products and the value tends to be lower than other boxes but they often do have really good products.

Beauty Box 5 was a few days delayed in shipping this month, so this is the update they sent their subscribers:

I still got my box in December and I am happy with the spoilers!

Starbox Beauty Box by Starlooks is a makeup subscription box by the company Starlooks. The box is $15 US + $7 shipping to Canada. The box is not customizable and every subscriber receives the same box each month.

Starbox is different than most beauty subscription boxes, because they send you 3-4 full size items from the Starlooks Make-up line. Their products are all cruelty free and involve no animal testing. The company website says their makeup quality is comparable to Mac, Dior, Sephora, ect.

I signed up for the December Box after I saw on Instagram that they were including an eyeshadow palette with 15 shadows, valued at $99.

I have received the monthly subscription box a few times and you can see my reviews here.

*This is not the monthly subscription box - on Black Friday, Your Bijoux Box released a special box with 5 pieces of jewellery for $25 (plus $6 shipping to Canada) so I signed up right away as I haven't subscribed to this box in a while! I assumed it would be pieces from boxes over the last year to clear out stock!

Here is a look at the Black Friday Your Bijoux Box:

And here are a look at the 5 pieces of jewellery that came inside:

December 2014 Ipsy Glam Bag - Beauty Bag Review and Unboxing

This post contains referral links

Ipsy is one of the inexpensive beauty bag sample subscriptions. You receive 4-5 deluxe sample size or full size products each month. The cost is $10 US (+ $4.95 shipping to Canada).

Ipsy is generally make-up products with a mix of skin, nail, and hair products based on a beauty profile you complete. There is usually 12-18 products that are selected from each month! You can view your "glam room" online that tells you all the products you will receive each month (I really like to keep it a surprise so I don't check ahead of time!) You also receive a make-up bag with your products.

Here is a look at the December 2014 Ipsy Bag:

I love when this bright pink envelope comes in the mail each month!

December 2014 Wantable Accessory Box - Review and Unboxing

This post contains referral links

Wantable is a company that offers 3 type of boxes all for the same price. You choose between an Accessory, Make-up or Intimates Box. For $36 US monthly (+ $6 shipping to Canada) you receive 4-5 items selected for you, based on a style quiz.
Wantable has recently branched in to the fitness clothing area as well - however it is not available to Canadians and is not the same approach as the 3 main boxes.

My history with Wantable has been up and down; however, my last box in October was awesome - so when Wantable sent me another 50% off coupon I thought I would give it another shot!

So this box is usually $42 for Canadians, and I paid $24. I was very selective with my "loves" and "likes" in hopes I would get items I wanted!
My loves: Necklaces, Scarves, Silver Tone & Gold Tone
My likes: Classic, Glam, Multi-tone, Watches
Everything else was a dislike - I find it easier to close in on a few items that you are interested in getting.

Here is a look at December Wantable Box:

Wantable describes their picks for the December Box:
Whether you love a few bold statement pieces or piling on daintier necklaces, rings, and bangles, we have the perfect pieces for you. Scarves are by far our favorite winter accessories, so we have cozy knit pieces with plenty of personality. This month we're loving plays on color. Grays and greens pop when paired with a bold plum or red. Jewel tones are a perfect way to inject color into your wardrobe so there are plenty of opulent colors found in this month's pieces. Have fun and experiment with color to create a fabulous fall look all your own. And don't forget about the metals! Distressed gold tones are hot right now. Don't be afraid to mix them in with shinier pieces for a combination of textures to add interest to your look.

December 2014 TopBox - Canadian Beauty Box Review and Unboxing

TopBox is a Canadian Beauty Box Subscription - for $12 CDN a month with free shipping (I pay $12.60 each month with tax), you will receive 4 deluxe sample size or full size products. You fill out a beauty profile and generally receive products based on what you have identified in the profile. Also, every month you have the option to wish for a "prive" box. A prive box is a box that focuses on one brand or product for the whole box.

TopBox is a Canadian company and only ships to Canada. The only downside to subscribing to TopBox is that there is a wait-list that can take a month or two to get off of.

For December, I selected the "regular" topbox - none of the Prive boxes jumped out at me!

Here is my December 2014 TopBox:

TopBox used to come in a cardboard tube every month - now they have the option to select a more eco-friendly version and have the products come in an organza bag.

November 2014 Fabletics Work-out Wear Subscription Box Review + 50% off

This post contains referral links

Fabletics is a workout wear monthly subscription box! For $49.95 CDN (and up) + $4.95 shipping you get a full workout outfit (2-3 pieces). It usually consists of a bottom, top, and accessory or sports bra!

When you first sign up now you get your first outfit for 50% off (actually an amazing deal!). To me, the best part of this subscription is that you can skip any month as often as you want - I love this option because I won't pay $55 a month for workout clothes, but it would be nice every few months to get something new.

As a VIP you will be shown new outfits on the 1st of the month - you have until the 4th of each month to select your style or skip. If you do not select any option, you credit card will be charged and you will be given a credit on their website for any future purchase. There have been some complaints on this but the website is upfront about this policy so I say, just make sure you don't forget!!

Here is my November Fabletics outfit:

It is called "Fallen" and is three pieces - this outfit was more than the average monthly outfit, and was $79.95. (It was just so pretty, I couldn't resist!)

SkinFood was $29 + $6.99 shipping. The brand seems to be a good brand, and the motto is "Food that is good for your health, is also good for your skin" and focuses on feeding your skin.

Memebox is a Korean Beauty Box company - it is not a monthly subscription box - they instead have a ton you can choose from ranging in price from $15 and up. (It might be better for me if it was a subscription box because I buy more than 1 per month!!!)

All the boxes have different themes and they are limited quantities and sell out quickly - so if you see one you like, don't hesitate! The boxes come with 4-8 full size and deluxe sample size items & they usually show you 1 spoiler from the box and the rest are all surprises! Shipping to Canada is $6.99 (shipping does take any where from 10-20 business days) and they ship worldwide!

Most of the time when you sign up for a box, it doesn't ship until a month or two later - so when they announced the Face Shop Box (and Skinfood) the shipping was a few days after purchase! I ordered boxes and got a free upgrade to express shipping so they came right away!

The Face Shop Box was $29 + $6.99 for shipping. The Face Shop box is described as:

Always on top of their A-game, The Face Shop is Korea’s premier cosmetics brand known to pursue excellent quality, style, and innovation. This box brims with skin, body and makeup goodies that have won countless beauty rewards - all made with gentle natural ingredients.

Globally recognized and globally famed, The Face Shop is loved by all ages and all skin types. Endorsed by Korea’s top girl group Miss A’s Suzy, The Face Shop is recognized globally as a novelty brand that leads the beauty industry with superior ingredients, rst-class stylishness, and original design.

Up your look with The Face Shop’s natural recipe for impeccable beauty!

I was very excited for all natural products - I have been loving all the items I have been receiving from MemeBox, and I love all natural products so this will be a good combo!

Here is a look at my MemeBox #822 The Face Shop:

The box it came in was actually a little smaller than most MemeBoxes! Here is a look inside:
