I've still kept my beauty routine pretty minimalistic in August, but I have tried a few new makeup products that I've really been loving - I also have a few great nail and skincare products!

It's Pride Week in Calgary, so naturally I need to have some bright rainbow nails for the occasion! (Obviously my support of Pride goes far beyond my nails, but as an ally I love to show my support any way that I can!)

L'Oreal Air Volume Mega Mascara in Blackest Black ~ $16.99 CAN.The Air Volume formula is air whipped to create a lash multiplying effect with high volume charge that is weightless on lashes.

This was one of the new hyped up mascara, so I picked it up and gave it a try a few times, but I didn't like this at all, in fact, it may be one of the worst mascaras I've tried. I liked the brush shape, but the formula is too wet, I hate the packaging so that it doesn't stand up, it was wet clumpy, give me spidery lashes and then also smudged and transferred everywhere.

Repurchase: Noooooo

Project Pan 21 in 2021 ~ Update #4

I really enjoyed working on a project pan last, it really made me enjoy using up older products in my collection, so I was excited to start a new project pan in 2021 - I am hoping to use up or hit pan on 21 products in 2021! I will again, be focusing on all makeup products as I am pretty good about working through my skincare products.

I started the project off with the first 10 products and will treat this like a rolling project - once I reach my goal, I will add a new product to the mix! On my first update, I reached my goal on 1 product, then with the second update, I finished another 2, and my last update in June I finished another 4 products, so I'm down to 14 more products to go! (But, over the Summer, I haven't reached for these products as much!)

Ok I've raved a little about Salty Sea Dog Designs before - they are the most gorgeous ceramic mugs ever. Last year my Mom picked me up a travel mug, and I have a regular mug, so I thought I needed a little tumbler to match! 

The Five Products I've Been Reaching For All Summer!

While the pandemic is still impacting our travel plans, I've been spending quite a bit of the Summer travelling locally. I have family to go visit as well as a cabin we've been to multiple times, so I've been living out of a travel makeup bag for most of the Summer.

During my Summer getaways and living on a very trimmed down beauty routine, I've found a few products that I've been reaching for all the time! When we go to the cabin, we really preserve water, so these products are all about convenience, easy packing, and quick to use!

I was looking for a new tinted moisturizer and have been wanting to try the ColourPop one for a while. But also, how adorable is this little Hello Kitty quad?! It's so cute, plus there were some other fun products for a bright Summery look! 

Manicure Monday - Bright, Happy Face Nails

Happy Manicure Monday everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend - this was my first weekend home in a while and it was so nice to be home and have a relaxing weekend!

(I've been away for 4 out of the past 5 weekends, and the one I was home for was my grandma's funeral, so I'm actually a little wiped out - can I have a vacation from my vacation time?!)

Summer of Salt by Katrina Leno is YA Magical Realism book focusing on the Fernweh family - their magic passes down in the women through generations, and each woman's magic shows before their 18th birthday.

I've had a pretty easy going Summer in terms of my makeup (which means I haven't been playing with makeup much at all) - we've had lots of down-time and beach/family vacation time, so I've been keeping everything pretty simple!

I've been missing doing full faces of makeup, but I'm trying to embrace the minimal look while it's too hot out for much more than that! While this is a super quick look, these are all fantastic staple products and have been my go-tos during a time that I'm hardly reaching for makeup, so you know they are good!

Happy Friday the 13th everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend - we got back from holidays right in to a busy work week and we are going straight back to the cabin tomorrow for a couple of days!

I always love our visits to the cabin - Fairmont is such a cute little town and we are nice and close to Invermere for our town and beach needs! We also finally found these natural Hot Springs and they were lovely! The kids had fun and they were pretty quiet! It was a very relaxing week overall, I managed to get 3 big books read, lots of kayaking, and beach time!

FabYou is a newer brand to BeautyNetKorea and they have a whole range of Botanical Healing Masks - they have lots of nutrients for targeted skin concerns, but also will make the skin soft and hydrated!

Happy Manicure Monday everyone! I hope you all have had a great week - we've been gone in Fairmont for the whole past week, so I'm just getting back in to a work week before leaving on the weekend again!

I have been so non-stop busy the past few weeks, I haven't had much time at home just to relax (there was plenty of relaxing time at the cabin, but I'm not home with all my stuff), so I have not had any time to do any art on my nails - plus, I broke my poor middle nail sooo short, so hopefully by the time it grows out a little, I will have some time for nail art.

I have been keeping up my Monthly Makeup Baskets throughout this pandemic; but, I am finding it a little hard to use everything in a single month as I am wearing masks all the time. I have been loving the Holo Taco polishes that I've tried so when I saw their Summer "Life's A Beach" bundle in creme formula with the stunning shades, I new I had to try them as well! Each polish is $11 US or bundle is $30 for all three! 

Monthly Beauty Haul ~ July 2021

I always love these haul posts - it's a way to keep track of everything that I picked up every month. I don't always blog about everything I pick up (I try to), but if you ever spot anything in here that you really want me to talk about, let me know!

ColourPop Haul ~ $72.49 CAN. There has been some fabulous products released this Summer by ColourPop - I'm loving all the orange and I was excited to try the tinted moisturizer. I'm going to try this out right away and share it!
