Happy Friday everyone! Hope you all have had a great week - we are back to the cabin tomorrow for a long weekend and I'm looking forward to it. Honestly, I get a little nervous on here when I say we are "travelling" but I want everyone to know that we are being very safe and respectful of where we are going and some of these little towns have "We Love Alberta" signs up because they get the majority of their visits from Alberta. We wear ours masks, stay socially distant and try and support local shops safely.

It's Summertime and I'm so excited to start diving in to my Summer reading list! (If you are a bookworm too and are on Goodreads, I would love to connect - you can find my Goodreads here!) I really love seeing what everyone is reading - I will read every genre and am always looking for more recommendations! I started the Summer reading lots of great YA books, but I've recently switched over to some romance books and they are just so easy to read and a nice break from some heavier content I have been reading too!

This month is clearly really skincare heavy with only one makeup item - I've said it multiple times, I'm just not wearing as much makeup right now so it makes sense that my favourites are mainly skincare (and even more specifically SPFs because that's what I've been using or trying the most of right now! 

July Shop My Stash - Neon Orange Eye Look

I haven't been wearing much makeup at all this month, so it felt really nice to Shop My Stash and come up with a fun makeup look using my collection! These looks are always a monthly reminder to play and enjoy the makeup I have!

I was really feeling a bright neon look this month and I absolutely love how this look turned out with the orange makeup and that neon pop! 

Manicure Monday - Scratch Citrus Blossom Wraps and July 2020 Monthly Mani Kit

Happy Manicure Monday everyone! Phew, I am back from two weeks of vacation now (don't worry, small family vacations - nothing crazy, just getting out of our own house for two weeks), and it's nice to be home!

I've been raving about Scratch nail wraps since I tried them in 2014 - that's a long time to be loyal to a nail wrap brand; but, I love them and I feature their wraps fairly often for my manis because they are so gorgeous and make my nails look fabulous when I don't have the time to do nail art myself! I've also been subscribed to their Monthly Mani Kit on and off since 2016 and I love it. They recently have their nail wraps introduced in Ulta and I think that's amazing, always happy to see a brand I love expand! Long story short, it's been a while since I've done an unboxing along with a Mani Monday, but since I used these wraps the day I got them, it only seemed fitting!

I hope you had a great week - I am on holidays again this week, just at the family cabin in Fairmont and it's been a lovely week (or so I think it will be - I am pre-writing this again because I won't have wifi for the week on my laptop!) We spent the past week in Penticton, and I can tell you, even though we were a little nervous about travelling, there has been lots of back and forth between Alberta and B.C., so we felt comfortable knowing we were going to stay with family and laying pretty low. We did book some private wine tastings and enjoyed a few family activities - beach days, go-karting and mini golf! I can tell you, it was really nice to get out of our house for a little while! (And, we briefly came home, re-packed and are going back to B.C. for a quiet week at the cabin).

How adorable are these Disney Princess Vans?! I actually picked these up on a facebook auction for only $20 in my size! I was looking for these on ebay; but, they average $80 - $100 so I just couldn't spend that. I can't believe I found these - they are so adorable!!! I am so excited!

So when I saw "bathing suit" on the list of Summer Lingo themes for our #CBBxManiMonday, I had to try this out and Yellow Polka Dot Bikini was the first thing that came to my mind (I also added in a one-piece since that's my personal preference nowadays!)

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask Apple Lime ~ deluxe size (full size is $26.00 CAN). A leave-on lip mask that soothes and moisturizes for smoother, more supple lips overnight.

I really love the original formula of this lip mask - it's fantastic. This is the second deluxe size of a scented one I've tried and I just don't think the formula is quite as good as the original. This worked well and left my lips nice and smooth, but not as amazing as the original! 

Repurchase: Will likely repurchase the original, trying another brand right now!

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all had a great week - I had a good week and now I'm starting two weeks of vacation and I'm so looking forward to it. We are going to visit our family in B.C., we are still going to be socially distancing and staying safe, and then we are going to the cabin for a week and it's just going to be nice and relaxing!

I just received my June Owlcrate subscription and this month's theme is "All The World's A Stage". Each month the book Owlcrate includes is signed by the author and comes with a note from the author as well - they often have special edition covers just for the box, and they seem to include a lot of exclusive items just for Owlcrate, which is so fun! As a bookworm, I have been loving this subscription!  

Too Faced Papaya Pop Eye Shadow Palette - Tutti Frutti Collection

I really loved the initial Tutti Frutti released - I picked up the Razzle Dazzle Berry and Sparkling Pineapple eye shadow palettes (and a couple of face products as well) and I really loved them - the pineapple palette actually made my Best of 2019 Makeup Products!

The formula of the palettes is so good, so when I saw that they were releasing a Papaya palette, I knew I had to pick it up! The packaging and colour scheme are right up my alley! 

Manicure Monday - China Glaze White Hot Summer 2020 Collection

Happy Manicure Monday everyone! I am always excited when I have a collection to swatch and share!

For the Summer 2020 collection, China Glaze came out with the "White Hot" collection - it is a full range of six different multi-finish white polishes to "keep you cool from sunup to sundown"! This collection is available on Nail Polish Canada for $8.45 CAN each. 

June 2020 What I Bought - Monthly Haul!

I set one of my 2020 goals to be actually sticking to my $100 a month Beauty Budget - last year I attempted this and didn't do so well, so I'm actually trying to be a little more strict on myself! I really want to make sure that I can use and enjoy the products I have in my collection and that I will really use the products I picked up! 

I always love my Monthly Haul posts to share with you everything I picked up (since I can't review everything I buy)! I also am trying to hold myself a little more accountable to buying products that I really want and will actually use!

Well Order ~ $0.00. Last month I decided that repurchases weren't going to count towards my monthly budget, so both of these are repurchases but I wanted to quickly talk about them both. Marvis is basically the best toothpaste ever - I can't use anything else now. The La Roche-Posay face sunscreen has been so highly reviewed and since I'm out of face sunscreens, I really wanted to try this!

Happy Friday everyone! Can you believe that it is July already?! Wow - this has been flying by. I am looking forward to July though, we do have some really simple family time planned and I can't wait! 

I hope you all had a great week! We had an extra day off this week for Canada Day and last weekend was my husband's birthday, so it was a pretty good week for us!

Like that past few months, I haven't been trying a ton of new products; but, I have tried a few new ones that I loved and also have been reaching for some older products that I have been loving as well! 

May 2020 - Lush Kitchen Subscription Box

I will be honest, I still have a total weakness for subscription boxes - it's actually what I started writing this blog about way back in the day. I tend to not buy many right now, but I usually have at least subscription on the go at all times because I just love getting surprises in the mail every month! 

When I got an email that Lush Kitchen was starting a subscription box I squealed, and then I signed up immediately! Lush Kitchen used to be a "secret beauty lab" section of Lush UK - it was where the made more experimental formulas and limited edition products that were exclusive to Lush Labs or Kitchen. They decided to revamp Lush Kitchen in May 2020 and turned it in to Lush Kitchen Subscription, so instead of random exclusive products being released, there are specifically ones released in a monthly subscription box!
