Shark Week - Lush's Shark Fin Soap and Working To #SaveSharks

Shark Week is carrying on and I hope you are enjoying watching it - I'm away at the cabin for the week, so I'm not watching; but, I did watch a very important shark documentary that has certainly stuck with me.

Each year on World Ocean Day, June 8, Lush released a limited edition shark fin soap - it's a pretty iconic soap and they always sell out quickly. World Ocean Day is to remind everyone of the importance that oceans play in our every day lives. The planet is 70% ocean and we get 70% of our oxygen from our oceans! 

Manicure Monday - Baby Shark Nail Art

Baby Shark, Do do doo do do do do, Baby Shark, Do do doo do do do do, Mama Shark! Okay, for those of you who don't have a toddler that you need to sing this song to every day - consider yourself lucky! Baby Shark is basically a daily song and dance in our house, so it makes sense that this year's Shark Week nails are Baby Shark themed nails!

So, we are keeping the July #CBBxManiMonday theme of "glitter" going for this week, and I went with more of a shimmery/glittery base polish for my Shark nails!

I have been loving the multi-colour nail trend I've been seeing all over lately - all the nails are the same colour family with just little variations on each nail, and I think it looks so good! So, I had to jump on the bandwagon!

Mac Prep + Prime Fix+ ~ $33.00 CAN. A lightweight water mist that finishes makeup, while gently soothing and refreshing skin. 

I love Fix Plus - it's a solid formula of a priming and setting mist! I featured this product way back in my Monthly Favourites in June 2016 and I just talked about it recently in my Favourite Setting Sprays post! I've purchased this in mini scented versions and I love it all. It's a great priming and light setting spray!

A Lovely Tinted Lip Balm ~ Dior Lip Glow in Pink Glow

My ultimate favourite type of lip product is a tinted lip balm - it's just my go-to every day lip product! I wear a tinted lip balm all day, every day basically; while I'm working, while I'm out with the family, while I'm doing nothing... You name it, it takes a "special" occasion to get me to wear an actual lipstick!

Lately, I've started splurging a little more on my tinted lip balms - I think because I'm wearing them every day all day on my lips, why not indulge a little bit in it?! It's constantly on my lips so it should be a really great product!

Happy Saturday everyone! I feel like I'm just getting everything together after a whirlwind couple of weeks of vacation! We just got home on Tuesday; but, went right in to Stampede and back to work - I'm looking forward to this weekend! As much I love being on vacation, I am happy to be home!

I was so excited when Vans released their Harry Potter line! I ended up deciding to make a custom pair - and here they are!!! I love how awesome this main custom material is - it is so gorgeous! I added some green for Slytherin to the heel and tongue and then added touches of black and grey to tie the fabrics together! Natasha Denona Mini Nude Eyeshadow Palette - Swatches, Review and Look!

I said many times on here before how much I love mini eyeshadow palettes - they are cute, compact and have a quick colour scheme that is easy to put a look together with!

I've also made it pretty clear that I love the mini Natasha Denona palettes - the 3 I tried in 2018 made my Best of 2018 Makeup Discoveries! So, the Mini Nude palette was released a little while ago and I didn't jump immediately; but, after I did a huge declutter a few months ago, I got rid of quite a few older neutral palettes and there was room for a new nude palette!

Too Faced Peaches & Cream Crystal Whips Long-Wearing Shimmering Eye Shadow Veil in Totally Whipped

I love a good shimmery, glittery liquid shadow - they are so easy to pop on the lid and help add some quick glam to any eye look! I've tried them from a few different brands - Stila, Cover FX, Hard Candy and ColourPop and loved them all! I have a few more that I've picked and just keep wanting to try new brands!

So, when I saw that Too Faced recently released some liquid shimmer shadows in the Peaches and Cream line, I couldn't wait to try them! I happen to love the peach scent and thought these sounded great! I like anything peach scented and Too Faced has been keeping the peachy products coming!

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you've all had a great week! We are enjoying a busy week of family time, so sorry for the impromptu lack of posts around here (I had some stuff planned and just got super busy!)

We are currently on vacation in Penticton visiting family! Last weekend for the Canada Day weekend we were in Edmonton for a basketball tournament so we had one day to reset and repack to leave for BC. It's been a fun; but, busy week! 

TWO

The coolest thing about this week so far has to be going on The Pipe Mountain Rollercoaster in Revelstoke, BC this week! We decided for our 8+ hour drives out to the Okanagan that we would stay overnight and do some fun stops along the way, because road trips with toddlers are not the funnest things! So, we stayed in Revelstoke and rode the Gondola and the mountain rollercoaster - what a fun ride and amazing experience! 

June 2019 What I Bought - Monthly Haul!

Time for a look at everything I picked up this month - I really love these Monthly Haul posts - they give me a way to share everything I pick up each month as I don't always post about everything I get!

For 2019, I put myself on stricter $100 a month budget , not because I need to; it's actually more to test myself and be more conscious about what I purchase. I also really want to make sure that I'm enjoying and using everything on my collection!

(Also, I know I went a little over - I started dipping in to this budget in May and thought I could reign it in a little; but, I think I did okay and thought everything through!)

ColourPop Haul ~ $77.27 CAN. Alright, this is the order that I placed in May knowing that I would be dipping well in to my June budget! But, I was very excited for the Main Squeeze palette - I've been loving the 9-pan monochromatic palettes ColourPop has been releasing lately, although none have made me grab one until now! And, I wanted to order right away as I wanted the Birthday Super Shock Shadow (which is really pretty this year!) To get free shipping, I also picked up a couple more Jelly Much shadows from the Villains collection, a couple of pressed glitters, and the eyeliner and mascara in black!
