October 2014 TopBox Beauty Box - Review and Unboxing

TopBox is a Canadian Beauty Box Subscription - for $12 CDN a month with free shipping (I pay $12.60 each month with tax), you will receive 4 deluxe sample size or full size products. You fill out a beauty profile and get items based on what you have identified. Also, every month you have the option to "wish" for a prive box. A prive box is a box that focuses on one brand or product for the whole box. (The only downside is that they do have a wait list - it took me about a month to get off of it).

This month I selected the "Elizabeth Arden" box that should come with 4 sample products from the brand. You are not always guaranteed a Prive box if you have wished for it; however, I have received the one I have wished for all each time I have selected one.

Here is a look at my October Topbox:
Woo hoo - got the Elizabeth Arden Prive Box. (TopBox used to ship out in cardboard tubes, now they give you the option to select a little bag instead - i like these because they can be re-used!)

Looks good to me - 3 skin care products (and a little lipstick sample too.)
Here is a closer look:
Elizabeth Arden Flawless Future Powered by Ceramide - Moisture Cream Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30 ~ sample size 7ml for $8.40 (full size is 50 ml for $60). This lightweight daily moisture cream hydrates and immediately brightens skin, as it helps smooth the look of pores and minimize the appearance of discolorations like those caused by blemishes. Skin looks smooth and supple more even toned, revitalized and luminous. This is a really nice moisturizer - I do think that sample size is a little small though. It goes on really smooth and is nice and light but does the trick.

Elizabeth Arden Flawless Future Powered by Ceramide Eye Gel ~ sample size 5 ml for $16 (full size is 15ml for $48). This luxurious eye gel instantly brightens as it fights the signs of stress and fatigue around the eyes. Reinforces skin in the delicate eye area to reduce the look of existing fine lines, puffiness and dark circles. So I seem to have gotten quite a few eye gels in the last couple of months so this one will have to wait to try! I imagine it will be great as this line seems to be very good quality - also this is a great sample size as you use so little gel for each use!

Elizabeth Arden Flawless Future Powered by Ceramide ~ sample size 5 ml for $12 (full size is 30 ml for $72). This sheer lightweight liquid serum with micro-caplets activates when dispensed, providing a refreshing burst that initially clings to skin then dries to a smooth weightless finish. Use to help reinforce skin’s essential moisture barrier, even skin tone, retexturize, and reduce the appearance of first signs of aging. Rejuvenates the look of tired skin for a more energized complexion. How cool is this little serum? I love good skin care products - and I really enjoy this serum. Again, I think this is a decent sample size as you don't use a ton of serum on each application. This has worked great so far!

Beautiful Color Moisterizing Lipstick ~ sample size .75 g for $6.86 (full size for 1 lipstick is 3.5g for $32). I was originally going to count this as nothing until I saw a full size lipstick is $32?! Maybe I don't buy very much lipstick but that seems slightly pricey to me. This sample pack is really cute with a little brush and a couple uses per color. Easier to try on when you're ready to use the color.

The box also included a one-time-use perfume sample for "Untold Absolu" - I would have a least preferred a small sample size bottle; but, I'm not a fan of the scent so it's fine either way.

Altogether, for $12 - this box had a value of $43.26. That is great considering all products are sample size. I really love finding great skin care items and that is why I selected this prive box. I'm not thrilled about the color of the lipsticks, but that is because I am more of a gloss person - all the other 3 products made it worth while!

How was your top box this month? Did you get the regular or prive?
