This duology is beautiful inside and out - Divine Rivals and Ruthless Vows! This is a YA fantasy duology with a great romance in it! Waring gods and enchanted typewriters add great tension to this series! This focuses on our main characters, Iris and Roman as they are competing journalists in the same company vying for the same job. They come from very different worlds, where Iris is struggling with a brother at war and a mother in the throws of addiction, while Roman is from a well-off family looking at an arranged marriage. They find a connection through magical typewriters, where only Roman knows her identity. The war is two old rival Gods who have awoken and are calling civilians to pick sides and fight for them.

Ahhh - it's my favourite time of year, The Night Circus time! I recently finished my 8th re-read and it's the most magical book of all time! Le Cirque De Reves opened on October 13, 1886 (and it's especially fabulous this yea, since it's Friday the 13th). This is an adult fantasy and it's such a lovely read - the most amazing Fall book to read! Pick it up!

I'm always going to be excited to share books I love on here and I've read some great ones this Summer - my next 4.5 star read is The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston. I've been a big fan of Ashley Poston, but as she's stepped in to adult romance, I've loved her books even more - she's got a really approachable writing style and this built up so well. It is set both in the present day as well as seven years in the past.

Alright, the first Wednesday of the month has quickly become my favourite day to go thrifting! If you are in Calgary, then all the WINS locations does Customer Appreciation Days on the first Wednesday of the month, so you get 50% off all clothing and such so I always make a point to go! So, everything here cost me $39.50, all of the items except for two, were brand new with tags - the pink dress itself is regular priced $117!

I'm so excited with my thrifting haul! The Women in Need (WINS) Thrift stores in Calgary do a 50% on the first Wednesday of each month for a customer appreciation day and it's been a while since I've been thrifting there. This month I managed to get to two stores and found some amazing deal! I got three pairs for jeans (two RW&Co and one pair Eddie Bauer all great condition), plus a brand new pair of boots and slim winter boots and some books! Great finds!

Yesterday was the first day of Fall, and since I'm not much of a planner for my reading, I try and stick to a little bit of a reading "theme". At the start of Fall I'm always reaching for cozy, Fallish books - thinks cozy fantasies and enchanted woods and lands are exactly what I'm craving!

Also, at almost 2.5 years in to the pandemic, work has removed the mask mandate (I know it's a bit of touchy subject), but it has me a little excited to start wearing all my makeup again!!

I hope you all were following along on my instagram the past couple of weeks, because then you would know that I've been in Italy - we went to Rome, a couple of small towns Fossacesia and Alberobello, Positano on the Amalfi Coast and Naples! It was such an amazing trip and I'm so thankful that after two years of cancelling the trip we were finally able to go! I've never been to Europe before, so it was pretty fantastic! I will try and do a more detailed post soon!

Last weekend we took the family to Cobbs Adventure Park (outdoor activities are open right now and this is a big farm space) and we finally got good weather to spend the whole day there. It is the cutest - the wallabies and kangaroos are adorable, plus there were so many other activities to entertain the kids, it was a perfect day! We will certainly be going back there again!

I'm so excited - Costco has Hunter Boots on for a great price! (I think they are $100 in store, but I just picked these up online for $115 with free shipping!) I was so excited - I've really wanted a short pair (a little easier to wear and more versatile!) They were a great find!

How adorable are these Disney Princess Vans?! I actually picked these up on a facebook auction for only $20 in my size! I was looking for these on ebay; but, they average $80 - $100 so I just couldn't spend that. I can't believe I found these - they are so adorable!!! I am so excited!

Happy Saturday everyone! I feel like I'm just getting everything together after a whirlwind couple of weeks of vacation! We just got home on Tuesday; but, went right in to Stampede and back to work - I'm looking forward to this weekend! As much I love being on vacation, I am happy to be home!

I was so excited when Vans released their Harry Potter line! I ended up deciding to make a custom pair - and here they are!!! I love how awesome this main custom material is - it is so gorgeous! I added some green for Slytherin to the heel and tongue and then added touches of black and grey to tie the fabrics together! As this is posting, I'm currently driving my oldest son to Kelowna for the weekend for a basketball tournament! He's got a couple of games Saturday and Sunday, plus I'm going to have dinner with an old friend and get in some family time as well! And, I'm hoping to pick up some wine in there too!

I participated in a political rally this week!! It was my first time ever! Yesterday we hosted the Rally to Save CYOC and I have to say that I was so impressed my the turn-out! It has really made me see the light the rallying for change and not going down without a fight is worth it - this goes for anything, if you believe in it then fight for it!! (Sadly, no word yet on if our efforts payoff but with an election in a week it really could work!)

Mmmm - my soup of the week! Easy Thai Shrimp Soup - this was quite easy and delicious! Also, it was a very hearty soup with shrimp, rice and veggies!
