Happy Saturday everyone! I hope you all had a good week! It was crazy busy for me, but good!
ONE
Maude Horton's Glorious Revenge by Lizzie Pook is a little different than what I typically pick up - it's a historical fiction with a little murder mystery twist! We follow Maude who is trying to find out how her sister died while posing as a ship boy out at sea on an arctic expedition. We follow Maude in the current trying to track down the murderer and eventually plotting her revenge on the murderer. We also follow her sister's journal that she wrote while out at sea and it helps solve the mystery. I thought the story started out a tad slow, but really picked up and I couldn't wait to see how her revenge worked out! It was a little dark too and I enjoyed this! 4 star read for me!
TWO
Have you ever heard of Activate before?! It's a fun little game place with a whole bunch of different rooms and tasks to do - like a big hoops game, floor game, lasers, etc! We had such a blast doing. Would be before with older kids, spouses, friends - it was great!
THREE
Today was the Polar Plunge - the Alberta Law Enforcement Torch Run does this every year to raise money for the Alberta Special Olympics! The olympics start in Calgary next week! It was a freezing cold day, but we had 17 staff from our centre show up and raise money!
FOUR
Last weekend I had a little friend date at the Zoo - it's YYC Hot Chocolate Fest and they have a boozy peanut butter hot chocolate and it was delicious! The animals were great and active and we had such a fun time!
FIVE
Here's a little look at my monthly declutter - I got rid of the Pat McGrath mascara and this essence mascara because both were quite smudgy on me. The Lucky Chick palette came in an Ipsy bag and I wasn't thrilled about it, so I will pass it on!
I hope you all have a great weekend!
